Chapter 42 - Too much sugar isn’t good for health

It's been 6 months since I pulled that stunt on Haku-chan. Since then, his control over his ice release has skyrocketed; now, he can form ice shards and big icicles using the water present in the air.

I have been doing all of my training with patience and without any interruption. This includes my medical ninjutsu, chakra control, elemental control, internal and external vision, and finally, my most favorite 'Shinjutsu'.

The winter was gone some months ago, and now it is spring.

.

The warm sunlight graced the green grass of the ground as I looked at the calm and still pond in front of me.

Picking up a pebble, I threw it into the pond, causing its water to ripple and form waves.

Once the pond became still again, I threw another pebble and made another set of waves, which I observed with my Byakugan activated.

"Lady Hinata, you're repeating the same process again and again. Are you that bored?" Ren asked, coming out from the shadows.

.

I calmly observed the ripples before replying, "Ren, have you ever thought about how X-ray vision works?"

"It's our innate ability; that's what I always thought," he replied.

"Haha, you are always simple-minded, Ren. Look at these waves; there are many types of waves. Some need a medium to pass through, just like these water waves, and some don't need any medium, like electromagnetic waves," I started to lecture him, and he was clueless about these things.

"I don't know about these things," he said.

"You should read some books; it's good for your brain," I replied with a laugh. Even if he reads, he wouldn't find this advanced knowledge in any book I was sharing with him.

.

"And how is it related to our X-ray vision?" he asked, confused.

"I will tell you that later, but first, tell me what makes our eyes so different that we can see through things," I asked him.

"It's a kekkei genkai," he replied.

I just wanted to facepalm at his answer.

With a sigh, I replied, "No, Ren, that's not what I want to ask you. Let me explain to you: the sun is our light source. When the light particles hit an object or person, they reflect back and hit our eyes, creating the image of that person or object. That's how a normal human eye works."

.

Ren nodded to me, and I continued.

"Then why can we see objects that don't reflect light onto our eyes, or in simple terms, objects behind walls or other obstacles?"

Ren was visibly puzzled; he didn't have any answers, so he spoke, "Now I really want to know. Please continue, Lady Hinata."

"The answer is simple. Our Byakugan generates a set of waves with different wavelengths and frequencies according to our wishes."

"When we want to see through something, we unknowingly produce X-rays, more powerful than visible light. When the X-rays pass through an object with the help of our brain and eyes, we can determine the shape of objects," I told him.

.

"I see, so that's how our eyes work," Ren nodded as he was enlightened.

"But the X-rays we produce are so weak, almost negligible compared to what they can truly do. If they were used to their full potential, they could erase living organisms in an instant," I told him the true power of the rays.

Ren was visibly sweating and asked, "Can our eyes do that too?"

While I only smiled mysteriously, "No, they couldn't," I dropped a bomb of disappointment on him.

.

"But these are not the only types of waves our eyes could produce," I said, picking up a stone in my palm.

Activating my Byakugan, a large amount of chakra rushed towards my eyes and converted into a form of controlled, powerful, and precise shockwaves, hitting the stone in my palm.

With a blow of wind, the stone was gone, its grains flew in the wind, leaving my palm empty.

A look of sheer shock, puzzlement, awe, and fear was priceless on Ren's face.

.

"See, this was another application of waves," I told him with a smirk.

"Y-you actually succeeded," he spoke in amazement.

"Nah, it's not even close. It might take 5 more years."

"So Ren, what did you learn today? Let me recap. Byakugan is a tool that produces different types of waves, nothing less, nothing more." That's my hypothesis after using Byakugan for more than 5 years.

"So the stronger and larger in quantity you produce X-rays, the farther and clearer you could see," Ren summarized.

With a chuckle, I spoke, "Precisely, and stop talking gibberish; it's hard to understand."

.

He also laughed, "The things you told me are hard to put into words."

Standing up, I walked towards the home, and Ren followed me. He asked, "Lady Hinata, when are we going to pay the next visit to grave living Ranmaru," chuckling.

"Is the next month already?" I asked. I had paid a monthly visit to the graveyard to pay respect to the dead and living Hyugas.

'Paying respect to a living person still amuses me; hehe, the sins I am committing are truly heinous.'

.

But the good thing is that I had gained the trust of Isomu Uchiha, and I found out that he had a son around 2 years old.

'When the Uchiha massacre starts, I will snatch his eyes and his son too. Hehe, if I put it in the right words, he will give me them with his own consciousness.'

"Lady Hinata, the air around you is becoming dark. Are you thinking something wicked?" Ren asked.

"Oh, Ren, I'm just thinking about how to raise another orphan. Is that wicked in your eyes? How cruel of you," I said, as if disappointed at my bodyguard.

.

"Lady Hinata, stop being sarcastic; I am not Haku."

"Fine, fine, you win; I lose," grumbling at the insolence of my henchmen, I walked towards the home.

I told Ren to go to the lab and not let the already dead man die.

---

A sweet smile graced my lips when I looked at the swollen belly of my mother, "Mommy, when will the baby come out?" I asked her excitedly.

"You impatient brat, how many times do I have to tell you that it will take one more month," she tried to be angry, but the smile on her face told of the happiness she was feeling.

'So I have around two months, huh? I just hope that lucky bastard survived that long.'

.

I looked at the small clothes she was weaving for the baby, "Can I help?"

"Of course, baby, but be careful with the needles; they are sharp," she said, starting to show me how to weave clothes, which is what she does all day.

'Don't worry, Mommy, I am very good at handling needles, and I am a master weaver,' thinking to myself, I started to pay attention to what she was teaching.

.

'I must make a new scarf for Naruto-kun; the last one must be old now. Or should I make a whole set of new clothes? Hmmm, let's do this.'

Thinking of Naruto, I have only met him 8 times in the last six months. The reason I didn't meet him so much was, 'because too much sugar isn't good for health.'

.

And in a few more months, I will be meeting him daily in the academy.

End of the chapter. I made the byakugan theory, how do you like it, it was the most convincing according to the physics...
