Chapter 7 - Do I look like a maid to you?

"So much for being a prude." Crystal whispers under her breath, still in shock.

It only takes a split second for her loud entrance to draw the attention of Orion and the blonde girl. Crystal awkwardly stands speechless at the door not knowing what to do or say.

She was sure he was dying of embarrassment and was probably thinking of a way to apologize and make it up to her for kissing a woman a few hours to their engagement.

She decided she'd be more understanding of his 'actions', after all, she didn't actually care about him and their relationship wasn't a real one to begin with.

"Please, there's no need to apologize, I completely understand." Crystal says, to calm Orion down, who was shaking vigorously, with his fingers now curled up into a fist.

Although, she didn't completely understand how a man, her parents painted as a prude who was in love with her and didn't have eyes for anyone else, could carelessly take a blondie in HER BEDROOM of all places.

"What did you just say?!!!!" Orion thunders, Crystal could tell now that he was definitely not shaking in fear but in anger?

"Have you completely lost your mind? How dare you barge into this room unannounced and then have the audacity to spit such rubbish?!" He barks, getting more angry by the second.

The blonde girl finally faces her and takes a good look at Crystal from head to toe, then immediately curls her face in disgust, as though Crystal was beneath her. That was enough to make Crystal blow off.

"Who do these people think they are? Crystal thinks to herself, riled up already.

"What idiot hired you? Answer me!" Orion yells, leaving the blonde girl and moving closer to where she stood.

He was clearly over six foot and easily towered over her much smaller figure but Crystal refused to be intimidated.

"Didn't you hear me? I asked you to give me the name of the person that hired an incompetent maid like yourself!" He yells even louder than before, lowering his body to allow him look directly into her face.

As soon as the words left his mouth, Crystal felt a surge of indignation. How dare he call her a maid?

She glanced down at her designer clothing, which was the only one of its kind in the country, and at her equally expensive bag and shoes, and wondered how someone in their right senses could mistake her for a maid?!!!

"You obviously need to get your eyes checked out Mr.Kellington. Do I look like a maid to you?!" She fires in disbelief, already very offended.

"I must be dreaming_" Orion scoffs, pausing his sentence.

He couldn't believe his eyes, he was sure all the staff members of the Kellington household were given an orientation on how to properly relate with the members of the family, most especially him, who was easily irritated by small mistakes and this was no small mistake.

If this maid were to say a word about what she had just seen to the wrong person, and if word somehow got to his future wife, then it would ruin his entire plan, and he wasn't about to let that happen.

"_because there's no way in hell, a lowly maid would have the guts to talk back at me?!!" He finishes, talking more to himself but it was loud enough for both women to hear.

Just when Crystal was about to gladly tell him who exactly she was, she receives a text from Karen telling her to come to her immediately because there was a life and death emergency.

Crystal doubted that there would be an emergency more serious than the 6'3 foot tall man standing in front of her. She's torn between wanting so bad to wipe the smug look off from Orion Kellington's face and going to help Karen, who was in trouble.

Giving him the most intense glare she could muster, she stormed off, deciding that Karen was more important than satisfying her pride but sure enough, it wasn't over!

Orion couldn't bring himself to go after her like he wanted to. Instead, he stayed glued to the spot, watching her leave, still in utter shock and annoyance.

"What's wrong Karen? Who did this to you?!" Crystal asks alarmed, noticing that Karen was fanning her face in an attempt to stop herself from crying.

Crystal was now convinced that she made the right decision by choosing to come help Karen, she was also sure of one thing, whoever did this to Karen was going to pay dearly!

"Karen, answer me!" She yells in anger, walking towards her and forcing her to face her when she doesn't receive an answer from her.

"Are you trying to blind me?!" Karen whines, pulling away from Crystal's hold on her shoulders.

"Why are you crying? Who did this to you?" Crystal questions her, still in panic mood.

"Calm down lioness! Nobody did anything to me, I was just trying out these sick contact lens I found in this dressing room so I got a little teary." She explains to Crystal, laughing.

Her friend was a damn drama queen but nonetheless, an absolute sweetheart.

"If you're not really crying, then what was the emergency you texted me about?! Crystal exclaims, already feeling like she had made a mistake by coming to Karen's rescue rather than putting Orion Kellington in his place.

"You have an engagement ceremony to prepare for in less than four hours, and I haven't fixed your hair and makeup, plus we haven't done your dress fitting, what other emergency could there be!" Karen cries loudly.

"What other emergency could there be!" She repeats, this time much more louder, grabbing Crystal by the shoulders and shaking her dramatically as though to knock some sense into her.

It was only after Karen's words that Crystal took a good look at her surrounding and wondered how she barged right in without stopping to stare in amazement.

Yes, she still very much believed that everything about the Kellingtons were extra but she liked how this particular room appealed to her creative side.

The dressing room was unlike any other that she had ever seen. The beautiful dresser caught her eye immediately, with its intricate carvings and polished finish. It was adorned with a full body length mirror, which allowed a person to view outfits from every angle.

There was a mini runaway at the other end of the room that served as a space to try out outfits with bright led lights shining down on it. All sorts of clothes were neatly arranged by color and style, and she was surprised to find that most of them were in her size.

The shelf for shoes and bags was stocked with several designer brands while the accessories were carefully curated to match each outfit, and the makeup station had every tool she could possibly need.

It was as if the dressing room had been designed specifically for her.

"Wow." She mutters to herself, still looking around in awe.

"I know right?! Karen joins her in admiring the magnificent sight even if she had already taken a good ten minutes to look around before Crystal came in.

"As amazing as this looks, we don't have enough time, we're starting with your dress fitting." She says to Crystal who had now recovered.

"Why do I need a dress fitting? I designed that dress myself just last week, it fits perfectly." She says to Karen.

"No not that dress, Eunice sent a dress for you to wear for the engagement, apparently Orion handpicked it especially for you." She coos, still very much a fan of his.

"He even left a note saying he hasn't been able to do anything but think of you all day and that he's so excited to meet you!" Karen shrieks in excitement.

Crystal was shocked to hear that the man she caught kissing a girl in her room had sent her a dress and a note saying he couldn't stop thinking about her.

"Exactly what game is Orion Kellington playing?"
