Chapter 3 - Chapter 3

I wasn't sure what to expect when I went back into the bedroom. But I definitely wasn't expecting to see Emerson curled up on the bed, asleep, and clutching my shirt to her chest. I watched her for a while, unable to take my eyes off her. She looked so peaceful when she slept.

I watched her chest rise and fall as she breathed through parted lips. She shifted, nuzzling her face deeper into the shirt I had been wearing earlier today, and let out a long breath.

I wasn't exactly bothered by the fact that she was asleep, or even that she had my shirt. The part I was unsure about was the fact that she was sleeping right in the middle of the bed, leaving almost no room for me.

I attempted to crawl into bed anyway, carefully climbing over her and settling in the space behind her. I had to sort of lay around her, kind of spooning her for us both to fit. I'm not sure how or when I managed to fall asleep, but I woke up in Emerson's bed... Our faces two inches from each other. She seemed to still be asleep. Her face was relaxed and her lips were slightly parted as she breathed her hot breath onto my cheeks. I suddenly felt very hot. Her lips looked so soft. I wondered what they would feel like on mine. I stared at her lips, fighting the urge to lean in and just kiss her.

Emerson suddenly stirred, and her eyes fluttered open. Her eyes met mine and she smiled. "Good morning" She murmured softly, blinking the sleep out of her eyes. "Morning." I said quickly, tearing my eyes away from hers. She sat up and stretched, the sleeve of her t-shirt sliding off her shoulder.

This was too much skin too early in the morning... I tried to turn my attention to something, anything else. She rubbed her eyes and
