Chereads / Bright Road / Chapter 8 - Sabrina

Chapter 8 - Sabrina

After leaving the tavern, Roy originally planned to go to the Magic Guild next to the Elf Academy in the uptown area.

There is a primary level Appraisal Master there who can help people identify various artifacts related to magic.

Roy plans to identify whether the flame in his hand is magic. If it is magic, then he plans to learn some magic-related subjects.

It was only when he reached the intersection of Brown Street that he found two elf guards standing at the intersection. They were checking pedestrians entering Brown Street.

The entire Brown Street was under martial law, and only people were allowed in, not out, so people were alarmed on the entire street.

Lady Boss at the Pharmacy Shop at the corner of the street. Mrs. Winnie stood on the steps outside the shop, looking at the two elf guards with some boredom while chatting with the Boss from the fruit shop next door.

The night saber lying in her arms stared fiercely at Roy, his amber eyes full of vigilance.

The neighbors on the street all ran to the street, everyone was talking about what happened, but the elf patrol came and put the entire Brown Street under martial law.

Since he couldn't leave Brown Street for the time being, Roy headed home.

When Roy just walked to the door of his house, he saw a beautiful elf wearing a white silk skirt with her arms wrapped around a few books and wearing a pair of sandals with straps wrapped around her legs. Come from the direction of the street.

Those legs wrapped in the skirt are really long, and the small part exposed is as white as ivory.

She is Sabrina, the eldest daughter of her neighbor Ms. Gillian. She is a rare tall person among elves, at least a head taller than Roy.

Her complexion is fair and her eyes are like two magnificent emeralds.

Among the elf tribe, only Wood Elf has green eyes and a tall figure.

However, other parts of Sabrina's body have inherited the exquisiteness of Silvermoon Elf, such as the straight nose bridge, crystal clear and near-transparent pointed ears...

Like Moira, the neighbors believe that Sabrina is a hybrid elf between a Silvermoon Elf and a Wood Elf.

Needless to say, the mother is Ms. Gillian, who makes a living by selling fish, and her father, everyone guesses, is a Wood Elf.

Ms. Jillian never mentions Sabrina and Moira's father.

Although the two are sisters, the elder sister possesses the Wood Elf bloodline, while the younger sister possesses a bit of the Darkmoon Elf bloodline.

Roy doesn't know his elder sister Sabrina well, but he has a good relationship with his younger sister Moira.

Sabrina attends elf Academy in Castletown and is a member of the choir at Liberty Goddess Temple, rarely spending time at home.

Moira is a very introverted elf, even a little autistic, always keeping herself at home.

  "Good afternoon...Sabrina!"

Roy actually prefers to call her Big White Goose...

But once he yells like this, it will definitely anger Sabrina, and if she catches Roy, he will inevitably get a fat beating.

Especially once she goes to school, Roy can't beat her no matter what.

After a few hard spanks, Roy's mouth became much more honest.

Sabrina, who was standing outside the courtyard door, turned around and saw Roy. She rolled her eyes quickly at Roy, turned around and walked into the courtyard.

  It's like this every time...

She walked into the courtyard with her head held high, her sexy body wrapped in the skirt moving rhythmically with every step she took, leaving only Roy with a big back.

  …

The two courtyards are actually only separated by a low wall.

Roy put the bucket into the kitchen, put away the fishing rod and hook, and washed his feet when he heard Sabrina's voice next door:

  "Moira, where are you?"

  "Elder sister, I'm upstairs!"

Roy thought it was time to put away the clothes he had dried on the terrace last night, and climbed to the second floor barefoot.

I happened to see Sabrina climbing up to the second floor on the terrace next door.

She placed a paper package on the small table in front of Moira and sat down on a square stool next to Moira.

Moira saw Roy appearing on the terrace opposite, moved towards him, glanced at him, put down the book he was holding, and then asked elder sister Sabrina:

"...Why did you come back so early today?"

Her voice is a bit scratchy, probably because of her skin color, and she usually prefers to wear a black skirt.

Sabrina casually threw off the sandals on her feet, curled up her feet on the lounge chair, stretched her slender body lazily, and then said:

"Liberty Goddess Temple was stolen last night. All activities are canceled today. I don't know what happened on Brown Street. The whole street is under martial law. I couldn't go to the fish market to help, so I had to come back."

Moira covered her mouth with her hands in surprise, and then asked in a low voice:

"The Holy Grail in front of the holy pool in the temple?"

Sabrina casually glanced at the terrace opposite and found that Roy had left with dry clothes in his arms, and then she nodded and said:

"That's it. It always contains a glass of water. Occasionally, if someone comes to pray, the priest will pour them a glass..."

Moira blinked, "Why did they even think of stealing this?"

"Maybe it's for the gold and gems on it, who knows!"

Sabrina acted very indifferent. Although she was a member of the temple choir, the fact that a Holy Grail was lost in the temple had nothing to do with her.

Anyway, it's not the old organ that was lost…

She was a little distracted and didn't expect a nasty guy to appear next to the railing of the terrace next door.

"Have you caught the thief who stole the Holy Grail?" Roy asked Sabrina.

If he hadn't been extremely curious, Roy wouldn't have taken the initiative to talk to Sabrina.

Every time the two communicated, Sabrina had a bad expression.

But this time Sabrina didn't quarrel with Roy. Instead, she put away her lazy look and said with a straight face:

"No, you also know how... outstanding the guards are, how could they catch them all at once!"

Roy habitually retracted his head and responded:

  "Yes!"

Next, Roy ran downstairs, took a shower and changed into fresh clothes.

There is a cool sea breeze in Castletown Harbor in the summer, so it is not too hot. On days when there are no air conditioners and fans, lying in bed with the windows open will feel very comfortable.

When it was time for dinner, Roy ran to the kitchen and made a fish stew...

  Roy ate dinner alone.

Ms. Belinda did not come back, probably because the art museum was too busy.

After it was completely dark, Ms. Jillian came back from the fish market with her trolley.

Two elf patrols also ran to Ms. Gillian's house next door and chatted with Ms. Gillian for a while, seemingly investigating Jefferson who died during the day.

Roy deliberately waited until the two elf guards left Ms. Jillian's house, ran to the terrace, held the railings of the terrace with both hands, and asked the elf guards outside the gate:

"Have those sailors not been captured yet?"

The two elf guards stopped, they were the same ones they had seen in the tavern during the day.

They didn't want to say anything at first, but when they saw it was Roy, one of them stopped and answered: "Not yet, the other party has diplomatic immunity."

  "Oh!" Roy replied.

  The elf guard asked casually:

  "...Do you know Jefferson?"

Roy answered calmly: "I've seen him on the street before, but we haven't spoken."

  "All right."

elf The patrolman felt that he could not find any useful information on Roy, so he glanced at each other and moved towards the next door. They would also investigate other residents on Brown Street tonight.

  "Hey Hey hey..."

Roy also wants to talk to the two elf guards about the theft at Liberty Goddess Temple...

But the elf guard left the neighbor's yard and walked into the house next door without looking back.

  …

At night in Castletown, the sea breeze cools the entire city.

Many times, Roy would be like now, lying on a chair on the terrace and chatting with Moira on the terrace opposite.

Talking about what happened during the day, Roy could only describe it as "terrible".

Moira at night, perhaps because she feels safer under the cover of night.

So she is more lively at this time than during the day.

And when she's in a bad mood and doesn't plan to go out to meet 'people', Roy can't find her even if she's standing on the terrace.

I don't know since when, Roy has been used to telling Moira about some of his experiences during the day.

For example, when he met the group of sailors today and the subsequent fight in the tavern, Roy talked about it all.

Moira's eyes were bright at night.

Although the two terraces were almost five meters away, Roy could still see that her eyes seemed a little sparkling.

She had just taken a shower and was wearing a loose skirt, with her wet hair hanging loose.

Her little face looks particularly pure. Except for her dark skin, everything else is inherited from Ms. Gillian, more like Silvermoon Elf...

In the Silvermoon Elf country, the status of mixed-blood elves is lower than that of half-elfs like Roy, and they are more likely to be criticized.

  "I see..."

That was all Moira said all night.

  …

It is brightly lit on the pier on the seaside in the distance. The high tide will be after midnight today. Ms. Gillian went to bed early after dinner. She will rush to the pier around early in the morning to pick up the fish.

The lives of elves in the lower class are usually very hard.

Although Roy doesn't agree with her attitude towards life, he admires her hard work.

She is the kind of person who is extremely persistent in life. She insists on selling fish at the fish market on the pier every day to support her two daughters.

Moira was cared for like a flower in a greenhouse.

Compared with Ms. Gillian, Roy's mother seemed more casual. She often left Roy alone at home, and her half-elf son turned into another Roy for so long that she didn't even notice.

Over the past year or so, Roy has gradually integrated into this environment.

Thinking of going to the Magic Guild tomorrow to identify the ball of light that always appeared in the palm of his hand, Roy lay on the bed and fell asleep with great anticipation...
