Hello, dear players," a voice said from behind them. They turned to see a young lady who matched Axel's description exactly. Although the players couldn't put their fears into words, their expressions said it all as they tightly gripped their weapons, prepared to attack the strange lady before them.
The air was filled with the smell of rot and decay the moment the lady revealed herself, and it seemed to be emanating from her body. Despite her smooth, human-like face, she exuded the same rotten smell as the zombies.
"Oh my God! I feel sick," said Florence as she began to vomit terribly.
"Who are you?" asked Axel, his gaze fixed on the lady before him, curiously waiting for an answer. The smell emitting from the lady's body didn't seem to affect him, as he didn't cover his nostrils with his hand like the other players did.
"Oh, I'm Lisa. Nice to meet you all," introduced the lady with a grin.
"We're not asking about your name. Just who are you? How were you able to walk amidst the zombies without getting bitten? Huh? What kind of spell did you use?" yelled Logan fiercely, as he removed his hand from his nose but soon covered it again due to the smell.
"Only two groups had been sent to this school, and they all died. "I'm from the first group, but I'm not dead. What does that mean then?" asked Lisa, her hands placed on her chin.
"Are you perhaps the fifth pawn?" asked Axel, his question sending shivers down the spines of the other players as they fixed their gazes on Lisa, curiously waiting for an answer.
(The Fifth Pawn. Lisa is here.)
"Darn it!" Lionel cursed bitterly.
"She's the fifth pawn? Why didn't you tell us there's a pawn, you darn system. I thought the zombies were the fifth pawn themselves," said Logan, anger evident on his face and laced in his voice.
This is going from bad to worst. Ave murmured with a frustrated sigh.
How can I forget that the pawns can be among players, Said Rosa, her hands placed on her head indicating her frustration.
"Anyways , I am Lisa, the second pawn, queen of the zombies," she declared with an evil laugh. "You didn't see that coming, did you? With a snap of my fingers, I can summon the zombies to devour you and turn you into the undead. But don't blame me, this game is a matter of life and death. It's either I die or you all die," she added with a wicked grin.
Ave moved closer and whispered to Axel, "What should we do?" She asked to Axel who remained focused on Lisa, studying her every move in preparation for a potential attack.
I don't know, Axel whispered back to her, his gaze still fixed on Lisa. Ave soon stepped back, with a heavy sigh.
"I'm afraid I'll be winning this game, since I'll be eliminating all of the group players," said Lisa with a smirk. "We still have plenty of players out there, you know? Do you all have any last prayers?" she added with an outburst of evil laughter.
"You're so confident that you're going to win," said Axel.
"Of course I know I'm going to win baby boy. Remember, the first and second groups are gone. There's no doubt you're also going to be turned into zombies yourselves, my slaves," said Lisa with an outburst of laughter, which soon stopped as she now had a serious expression, and then snapped her fingers. "Goodbye, dear players!"
Soon, loud growling sounds and a rotten, pungent smell filled the air. The once slow-moving zombies began running at high speed towards the players.
Lisa walked her way majestically, leaving the players behind as she navigated through the hundreds of zombies until she was out of sight.
"Oh shit! We're in trouble!" Logan murmured, his body tense as he gripped his sharp knife and kept his eyes on the approaching zombies.
"Fight with all your might and let's try to escape from here," Axel said to the other players, who nodded in agreement and turned their attention to the zombies. As the zombies drew closer, they began attacking fiercely.
Ave unleashed her freezing, glittering bow and arrow, hitting the zombies and turning them into ice instantly, which soon shattered into thousand pieces leading to the zombies death.
Axel, on the other hand, began slashing the zombies with his freezing, glittering axe. Each strike was as powerful as a hundred strikes, and a single strike from his axe could take down hundreds of zombies at once.
The other players were also busy attacking the zombies with their weapons. Lionel fiercely shot his gun at the zombies, but they seemed unaffected as they continued to get up after being shot. Rosa, Florence, and Logan stood together, backs against each other, slashing at the zombies with sharp knives but the zombies were unaffected by it, making them sttod behind Axel and Ave.
Our weapons aren't killing them, Whispered Rosa, into Axel's ears, making him to firrow his eyebrows. Just stay back and avoid being bitten at any cost, Axel said while Rosa, Florence, Lionel and Logan nodded in agreement.
Only Ave and Axel's weapons seemed to be effective in killing the zombies. Despite their efforts, the number of zombies continued to increase as more of them approached, hungry for flesh.
"Let's get out of here. We need to find a way to fight our way out," said Axel.
Let's find a way to escape from here," Axel said, urging the players to fight their way out.
"Fight our way to where exactly?" Logan asked, continuing to strike the zombies with his sharp knife even though it doesn't have any effect as they raise up again even after being slashed with it.
"The classroom," Axel replied.
"The classroom? Are you insane? You want us to willingly go in there and die?" Logan asked, shocked.
"Once we're able to get into the classroom, we'll eliminate all the zombies inside. This way, we'll have the whole classroom to ourselves and can stay there until the fifth game comes to an end," Ave said, fiercely shooting her arrow at the zombies.
"Exactly! If we all stay here, we're all going to die. Lisa has already let the zombies outside know our hiding spot, so changing location right now is the best choice, isn't it?" Axel asked, still striking the zombies with his axe.
"We can go anywhere, but why the classrooms?" Rosa asked, her fear evident in her voice.
"Enough with the questions, just get into the classrooms and fight!" yelled Axel fiercely as he increased his slashing speed with his axe, fighting his way through the massive numbers of zombies. The other players also fought with all their strength towards the classroom entry.
"Ahhhh!" Axel groaned loudly as he looked down at his hand, seeing a bite on his arm and blood gushing out.
