Chapter 10 - The Wedding

Alastor helped her out of the elevator as they walked to the parking lot with everyone staring at them like they were the ball of the entire apartment.

They got out of the building for her to take a look at the car before her and blush.

"Did you hire a Bentley just for our outing?" she blushed at this as he answered nonchalantly.

"It's mine. Get in," he said, opening the door for her as she entered before he rounded it to sit in the back with her.

"You don't have to be so cold to me. In this gathering we are to be…"

"Take us to the venue I sent you earlier," the man said to the driver who nodded before putting the car in drive as they started for the venue.

"How rude. I was still talking. And besides. I never gave you the address."

"I found the address written on a piece of paper and pasted on your fridge when I entered your apartment."

"That could be anywhere."

"That is the most popular place for weddings around here."

"So? It could be somewhere else."

"Unless you were heading there with someone else named Alastor and a time which is now, I don't know why you would…"

"Fine!" she grunted knowing she had lost the argument. "Gosh you are so smart. I just don't know whether to hate you or love you for it."

"You are just too easy to read, that is all," he said looking at his watch.

"Do you have somewhere else to go?" she said after watching him behave in an impatient way.

"I don't like being late, that is all," he said to her before leaning forward to the driver. "Hurry it up."

"Yes sir," said the terrified man as he sped the car through traffic.

They arrived as the man got out of the car, rounding it to open the door and let the woman out who was elated to be at such a party.

"Thank you," she said as he held onto her, walking into the wedding with lots of people staring at them.

"Is there anything I should know before we take a seat? Anyone hate who would come up to you and try to embarrass me? Are our plans still clear or has something changed?"

"They are as clear as day," she smiled excitedly. "Don't worry I won't embarrass you. I promise."

He was unsure of that but either way, he was already here so he was going to take her word for it.

The vows had been made and the reception had started as the couple took their seat in a place which was at the edge of the wedding ceremony.

This was perfect for the man since he did not want to mingle but this all took a wrong turn when the groom went around greeting people and started walking towards her table.

"Oh shit, here he comes," Janet sighed trying to keep her cool but failing to do so. Alastor could see this and he put a hand on top of hers to calm her down which surprisingly worked before the man joined them.

"Wow, Janet you came," Jake said with a glint in his eyes as he looked her over with lust in his eyes.

"Yes I did," she smiled, being grateful for Alastor's presence. "Congratulations on your wedding. I wish you all the best."

"Thank you," he smiled before noticing the hunk of a man beside her. "And who is this charming young man beside you?"

"He is…" she tried to explain as the man brought out his hand to shake the groom.

"Alastor," the man said, shaking the groom's hand.

"Alastor? A strange name isn't it?"

"Not that strange if you lived in my hometown and was born there."

"And where is that?"

They both had an ego moment with their eyes clashing against one another.

"You wouldn't want to go there even if it was free," the man smiled which creeped the groom out.

"Hey, Janet, can I talk to you alone? I've got something I want to ask you," Jake said to his ex as she nodded standing to her feet.

"I'll be right back," she said to her date before leaving him alone at the table.

Jake took her to a room with an innocent smile on his face so no one would suspect anything but immediately they entered the room and he shut the door, he turned to her and pushed her against the wall, raising one of her legs up with his hand gripping her thigh.

"What are you doing?!" she gasped as her heart rate went up and her breathing intensified.

"What am I doing?" he chuckled evilly. "What are you doing? You brought an imposter to my wedding just to make me jealous because you truly can't get over me. You seriously are pathetic but I'll give you a pass because you look sexy today."

This made her feel terrible about herself as she did not know how to counter what he had said. All she could do was preserve her dignity by lightly pushing him off her body and walking out of the room with tears in her eyes.

She was angry at herself because she was almost submitting to him again and to hide her shame, she ran for the toilet to hide away from the crowd.

While she was there, she found out there was no one around and this made her lock the door as she wanted to stay away from the public for a while. She was a mess and she did not want to show up like that.

A knock on the door had her looking at the mirror in front of the sink as she turned on the tap to behave like she was actively using the toilet.

The knock came again as she sighed with a frustrating feeling whirring within her.

"It's closed!" she yelled hoping the person would go away.
