Chapter 19 - Chapter 18: An Actual Threat

Keiko's body glowed a brilliant orange as he prepared to strike, but before he could act, a force hit him with the power of a freight train. His body crashed through several walls, vanishing into the debris. The man responsible stepped into the sunlight. His black hair was short, his eyes glowing a haunting purple.

Ouiji sighed in irritation. "You again? And working for the gods, too? Why, Toru? We both know you can kill anyone—except me."

Toru, the World Eater, smirked lazily. His name wasn't just for show. He earned it because of his terrifying ability to alter the energy of any world he entered, reversing its natural state. His very presence had the potential to tear through the fabric of existence.

Keiko stumbled out of the rubble, groaning. "Ouch... that hurt."

But before he could fully recover, Toru appeared behind him, his aura now glowing blue. "Time for you to sleep," he muttered.

Keiko tried to activate his blue potential field, hoping it would shield him. But Toru's aura shifted to orange, the opposite of Keiko's energy, effortlessly breaking through the field and knocking Keiko out cold.

Toru sighed, his tone casual. "I might have to kill this kid in the future... his ability is too strong."

With a flick of his wrist, Toru summoned a variety of weapons—swords, maces, nunchucks, shields—using Keiko's own ability to create them. He tapped into Ouiji's magnetic power next, causing the weapons to hover around him.

Grinning, Toru inspected the floating blades. "Wow, these aren't just energy constructs—they're real weapons now." He coated the swords in his antimana aura, a powerful counter to the world's natural forces.

Ouiji, his voice balancing between annoyance and amusement, called out, "What the hell, man? Why'd you hit the kid? What'd he ever do?"

Internally, Ouiji was tense. If Toru finds out Keiko and I are brothers, that could get bad. Fast.

In a blink, Toru was in front of Ouiji, swinging one of the antimana swords. Ouiji reacted quickly, using his magnetic repulsion to block, but the blade sliced through his defense like butter. Frustrated, Ouiji tried to gain distance, summoning walls, trees, and debris toward them to create space. But every attempt was futile. Toru's kinetic weapons absorbed the incoming matter, converting it into mana and making him stronger.

Blood trickled down Ouiji's body as the relentless cuts from Toru's weapons piled up. Desperate, Ouiji used gravity to repel a dagger aimed at his knees, but Toru's movements were too fast. The World Eater grabbed a set of nunchucks from the air and smashed them across Ouiji's face, sending him reeling.

Before Ouiji could react, Toru vanished from his line of sight, reappearing behind him with a blade aimed for his back. The sword plunged deep into Ouiji's flesh.

"My mission is done," Toru whispered, his voice cold and final.
