The door opened, and Ranvir saw Jiya sitting on the bed, fuming angrily.
"You bloody brat! come here!" She threw another pillow at him. He caught it, peeping from aside, "Guess what?" He asked his voice laced with amusement. "What?" That was a flat voice of hers. "You are scary, I can't deny that fact!" sarcastic voice "Oh, I am not that dumb, I can see that sarcastic voice of yours!"
Ranvir buried his face in his palms "You are so scary that I can't even look at you." Dramatically. "I am not!" She was sulked, Throwing another pillow at him.
Time went by like a flee...
Later that day, Pawan came in at his usual time to feed her dinner.
"Guess what?" He held a spoonful of porridge in front of her. She ate a bite and jerked her chin. "I told Ranvir that you like him." He held up another spoon. Jiya coughed, almost choking on her food...
Jiya took a long moment before speaking, "You did. What?" eyes widened "Told him that you like him," "You did not!" She shook her head as no. Pawan just shrugged and offered another bite. Jiya shoved off his hand "You are joking right?" "NOPE." He popped the 'p' "Oh my god..." She pulled out her phone. "Leave me alone, Pawan." She added, the phone's brightness causing a soft glow on her face.
"Are you mad at me?" Pawan asked in a soft voice, his voice barely a whisper. "Yes, yes. SO. DAMN. MUCH." she muttered, her teeth gritted together, punctuating her words with aggressive taps on the screen. Her eyes never leave the screen. "Why?" Pawan's voice softened further as he leaned in a bit.
Jiya finally looked up at him "Why? What do you mean why?" brows frowned together "Why are you mad at me?"-
"I am mad, 'cuz I have the right to be. I will lose my mind right now!" her voice cracking.
"Oi, Jiya, it was not a big deal-" "Not a big deal? Pawan, please. Please shut up for god's sake." She pressed the phone against her ear, making a phone call. A low ring of the call tune beeping filled the dead-silent room. "'The number you have called is currently-'" She hung up in frustration.
"Jiya, It's not a big deal." Pawan tried to calm her down. He had just told another guy about a girl who had feelings for him. "NOT a big deal? Pawan... Please, you have ruined enough." She didn't look up from the phone. Pawan stood up from the bed with the empty bowl. His expression changed. Hurt?
"Alright, I'm sorry. Enjoy your time with... um... well, air, " he added, turning his heel to leave. He paused at the door to look back at her before stepping out.
Jiya repeatedly tried calling Ranvir again and again...
He didn't pick up once.
Maybe he was busy. maybe he didn't want to talk with her
