I was finally allowed to resume school but only under the supervision of a warrior, I agreed to it cause turns out Max is just a gentle giant. Well things kinda got weirder since I got to school, the bullying stopped completely, but the whispers and death stares continued.
This week is going to be busy cause it's the week of the annual school competition, where all mythical creatures compete with each other for the title of the Mystic Beast. It's a huge opportunity for me to prove myself to everyone that I'm not so much of a weakling as they perceived me to be. I was extremely excited.
Towering ancient trees cast long shadows over pathways, as enchanting waterfalls cascaded gracefully into sparkling crystal clear ponds. The aura of magic filled the air, a testament to the diverse array of students and creatures that call this place home.
The Debate Square is bubbling with excitement and activities, witches brewing potions and casting spells, sages immersed in profound knowledge, mermaids swimming in the ethereal waters, vampires with their timeless grace. I couldn't help but marvel at the diversity that surrounded me.
As I passed through the ornate buildings, I was surprisingly greeted by werewolves who had keen senses and sharp smiles, all breathtakingly beautiful but not as half as Asher. I found it weird that they suddenly reveal themselves and even go as far as to greet an omega and outcast like me. I gave a curtly smile and walked past them in a hurry.
I walked past the entrance to the Debate Square and found Liam talking to Chester, they both seemed engrossed in their conversation but I interrupted them.
"Hey guys, what's up?" I greeted.
"Guess what we discovered." Liam asked excitedly.
"Um-what did you discover Liam." I asked hesitantly.
"Well, your mother was a ticking bomb when she was here, pulling all kinds of creatures with as much as a glance, mythical creatures killing each other just for a touch from your mother, she was basically a hot cake back then." Chester winked mischievously at me and I shook my head at his childishness.
"Come on guys, be serious." I pestered anxiously.
"Okay okay, you're no fun at all anymore." Liam pouted. "Well, Sasaki was the first Healer to be discovered after 200 years, she was said to have a power that every man and creature wanted, Just a little drop of her blood was strong enough to heal over a hundred dying warriors, she healed anything she layed her hands on including plants, she was said to also possess a strange power of mind reading. It is said that werewolves communicate with each other through mind links, mates can hear each others thoughts. Well this is different, you mother could straight up read minds, and that creeped everyone out, she became a target of all sorts of evil, but she was heavily protected by the former Alpha and Vampire king. You can imagine the shock when she suddenly disappeared, and now you appeared after such a long time."
I sighed heavily. Damn! This is a lot to take in.
"Well, there's more. This is the part where it gets crazy, I might need you to buckle up." My heartbeat increased.
"Okay…" I swallowed hard.
"Your mother was said to be the mate of the Vampire King. And you know when vampires mate, it is for eternity, now here's the crazy part, she was rumored to be pregnant when she disappeared. And this drove the Vampire King into extinction. He basically ran mad, in search for his soul mate, your mother."
My jaw dropped 10ft into the ground. Holy cow!
"Yuri." I whispered. That explains why she looked nothing like me, her pale skin and undying beauty. Tears pricked my eyes as I stared at my two best friends in shock.
"Looks like I'll be placing another call to my aunt." I whispered, unable to find my voice.
"Well, there's more." Chester gave me an awkward smile and my heartbeat further increased.
"Wait wh-…." I was interrupted by a vision of ethereal beauty, her features, a harmonious blend of strength and grace, her eyes, like pools of liquid amber, held a deep, soulful wisdom, reflecting the wildness of her inner self. She's definitely a werewolf.
But I was caught off guard when she spoke.
"Baka janai no? Minasan, jibun ga doko ni iru no ka wasurete shimaimashita ka? Nan-mairu mo hanareta tokoro kara demo kikoemasuga, naze koko de son'nani himitsu no koto o hanashite iru nodesu ka? Baka mono! (Are you crazy? Have you all forgotten where you are? We can hear you from miles away, why are you talking about something so secret out here? You fools!)" My eyes widened.
"Shippaishita! (We're screwed.)" I glanced over at Liam and found him looking bummed out. I took a quick look around and found a few people staring at us, I want to assume those are the werewolves. I stared back at the beauty and found her rolling her eyes.
"Baka nani mi teru no? (What are you staring at idiot?" She murmured, and I smiled. That was cute.
"Ningen no Ryōdesu. Anata wa dōdesu ka? (I'm Ryo, a human. What about you?"
She eyed me cautiously and finally sighed before sitting besides me.
"I'm Kia, a werewolf. I know who you are already. You're the Alpha's mate. Aren't you a little too feminine for a guy?" She pinched my cheeks softly.
"Uhm…..honest much?" Then she laughed, almost as if I was being sucked in a world full of blissful laughter, I stared at her like she's the only person in this universe. She caught me staring and immediately cleared her throat, I snapped out of my thoughts and smiled shyly. She's so beautiful, I can't help it.
She turned to Chester and suddenly froze, then I face palmed myself. Come on man! Not Kia!!!!!
I glanced over at Liam with a bored look and he laughed almost immediately. "Mates." We mouthed to ourselves. And I rolled my eyes inwardly. Freaking Chester, I pouted. After a few minutes I caught a whiff of Asher and almost immediately, my head snapped toward the direction of his scent. And I rolled my eyes for the second time inwardly.
As expected, Sheila hung pretty close to his arm, glaring at whoever dared to even peep at the Alpha. As if noticing my stare, he suddenly turned and locked eyes with me. I immediately turned back around and fidgeted with my fingers nervously. Ugh I hate the way he makes me feel. Just when I was about to start a conversation with Liam, I felt him behind me.
