As we walked up to the Alpha's imposing home, my heart pounded in my chest, my palms sweaty with nervous anticipation. What are they going to do to me? Will they also reject me like their son? Will they also find me disgusting like everyone else? Meeting the former Alpha and Luna for the first time as their son's male mate was a daunting task. I took a deep breath, straightened my posture, and tried to exude confidence. It's the least I could do right now.
The door opened and there they stood, my mate's parents, their expressions unreadable. Asher's mother, regal and poised, stared at me with a scrutinizing gaze, while his father, a towering figure, observed me with a stern expression.
His mother's lips curled slightly, and she finally gave me a small smile. "Thank you for acknowledging our invitation." Her voice as commanding as her presence. "Come darling." Her hands spread out, waiting for me to do something.
Feeling extremely overwhelmed, I walked up to her slowly and gently circled my hands around her but not touching her yet, Just in case I misinterpreted her gesture. And then she embraced me like a mother embraces her child and my inner child immediately jumped in joy. Pulling out of the hug, I took a few steps back as I waited for the Alpha to say something.
His father's eyes bore into mine, and he spoke with measured authority. "Who are your parents boy?" I cleared my throat instantly.
"Um-uh-they-my mother I believe attended Mystique High, her name was Sakura, Sakura Sasaki sir."
His eyes suddenly widened as if he saw a ghost.
The Alpha and Luna exchanged glances and a worried expression suddenly clouded their faces, I was now a nervous wreck.
"Sakura Sasaki?" He asked no one in particular but i nodded.
The Luna gave me one more worried glance and then turned to the warriors who kidnapped me.
"Take him to the Alpha quarters and make sure no one else gets in there, not even Asher okay?" Now confused, I stared at the former Alpha and Luna. Am I being held hostage now? Cause that's exactly what it's giving right now.
I followed them to the Alpha quarters and sighed heavily. What exactly is going on? Why did they react that way after finding out about my mother.? Something's not right here, I have to figure it out.
I took out my phone and dialed Liam's number and he answered after two rings. "Hey man, are you okay?" His worried voice rang through the phone.
"Yeah I'm good, it's complicated but I'm being held hostage in the Alpha quarters. No one is allowed to visit me, including Asher, I don't know what's going on but I think it has something to do with my mother so I need your help."
"Okay, how do I help?"
"I need to find out something about my mother, but since I'm locked up in here, there's really nothing I can do. I need to find anything, anything at all about my mother, who she was, why she was here, if she had any powers, just anything you can find. I'll call my aunt now to ask for answers too."
"Okay got it, I'll ring you up in about 4 hours time." Then he hung up.
I immediately dialed my aunt's number and she answered almost immediately.
"Aunt Aiko, I need to ask you some questions and I need you to answer them truthfully." She sighed softly.
"I've been expecting your call son."
"What powers do you possess aunt? Let's start from there." I took out a notepad and pen and got ready to jot down a few things.
"I don't possess any power Ryo." She answered calmly.
"Huh? How were you able to attend Mystique High if you have no powers aunt Aiko?" I asked, confused as hell.
"I had no powers but your mother did." She suddenly paused before clearing her throat. "She was the very first Healer in over 200 years, when she discovered her powers, it was a huge deal. It drove a huge rift between all mythical creatures cause everyone wanted the Healer for themselves. A war broke out and it was basically a bloodbath. Families were separated, women killed, children slashed, all for the possession of the Healer. Before she left, she sealed her powers off with the help of a white witch known as Brigid, she lived a secret but happy life with your father, she had your sister and soon after you came along. But they were found, and in a bid to run away from them, they crashed and all died."
I took a few steps back and sat down slowly on the bed. I didn't know how to process such information, I felt extremely indifferent.
"Does that mean I have the power of a Healer?" Confusion laced in my voice.
"There's a 50% possibility, but you'll be safe in Crystal pack. The Alpha and Luna are good people, they'll protect you with their lives."
Now understanding why my aunt insisted I accept the invitation, I suddenly felt extremely sad for the way I treated her before I left. "I'm sorry aunt Aiko. I really am."
"Tsk, it's fine kid. Don't worry about that, trust me you have other things to worry about. Like your mate." Wait what?
I'm confused as to how she knew about Asher.
