When she was born, it was with the scream of her brethren. She felt herself being pulled out of the ground and forced to hop away. Adrenaline, fear, and a small portion of annoyance mixed within her as she didn't understand a single thing going on. She simply followed the two bigger creatures in front of her and hopped with all the strength she could muster. As the high-pitched horrific screams continued, she was tempted to turn around to see what she was running from, but with her body being the way it was, she'd slow down, and no doubt suffer whatever fate the slower people went through.
"Gimme exp. Gimme exp. Gimme gimme gimme."
"The monsters are so realistic in this game."
"I knew I should've put more points into Body..."
They hopped and hopped and hopped until their stamina exhausted itself. The newly born creature was brought to a cave entrance. When others saw a refuge and a safe haven, she saw it as a death trap. Her parents saw her reluctance and tried to drag her inside, but she refused and hopped away. Although her stamina was at its lowest, she continued to hop away deeper into the forest. Even as her health started to drain from pushing herself past her limit, she continued until she saw something that resembled safety.
She rolled down a hill and lodged herself in a dense bush. At this point, her health was dangerously low. If she received even one hit or tried to push herself anymore, she would be no more. Time passed inside the bush as she recovered her health and stamina. As she stayed inside the bush as still as she could be, she realized her parents must not have followed her.
Hours passed until she felt safe enough to leave the bush. Her eyes peeked out, looking for danger or the sounds of more screaming. Neither appeared, so she began to eat her way out. Being born not too long ago, along with running for her life, built up quite the appetite. She ate and ate until the thick foliage that could hide her tiny body was reduced to branches.
Pop!
She jumped in fright at the sudden sound coming from her body. Her first instinct was to run, and run she did. Until she noticed that the popping sound didn't stop even as she hopped away, all it took was a single look down, and a quick glance up to realize whatever was happening to her was coming from her own body. She stopped running as differently colored mushrooms continued to extend out from her body and then dropped to the ground.
When she looked up, she didn't exactly understand what she was looking at but could somehow understand the weird symbols on it. It floated in the air, and when she focused her eyes on it, it suddenly expanded! This startled her into hopping backward, but once she did that, it did nothing else, so she continued to look at it.

None squeezed her insides to stop the even tinier mushrooms from popping out of her body. It worked until it started hurting by doing that. So, she immediately stopped doing that, and the mushrooms continued to pop out every few seconds or so. The mushrooms that popped out of None kind of reminded her of her brethren. They resembled them in all but size and color.
The mushrooms that popped out of None's body looked like any other mushroom, except they had small black beady eyes that could blink and immediately made it their goal to separate from None and hop off into the forest. Instinctively, None could tell what each of her mushrooms did just by looking at them. She thought it was cool, except their first reaction was to get as far away from her as soon as they came out. That made it difficult to eat them. So, None just found herself a safe place to hide and simply waited while soaking in the sun.

None's mushrooms hopped their way across Astoria Forest as if it were their mission to spread to every part of this monster-infested area. Some bothered to hide, some seemingly hopped with infinite energy, while others deliberately ran toward other creatures. This sudden and uncontrollable event couldn't be stopped even if someone looked for the source of the mushrooms. As such, events that normally wouldn't have come into place have now been put into motion by a strange turn of fate.
An innocent young doe could be seen eating a rather large, colorful mushroom. It smiled as the delicious taste of the fungi spread through its tongue, unaware of the changes happening to its body after taking a single bite of the item. Those changes happened instantly, and in the blink of an eye, the young doe quickly grew into a giant doe that towered over the trees in Astoria's Forest. However, it seemed not to notice a difference and simply began to eat the tops of the trees happily.
In another part of Astoria's Forest, a bunny could be seen peeking its head out of its burrow. In front of it was a hopping golden mushroom that made it shriek in fright. The rabbit dashed back into its burrow out of fear, only for the mushroom to hop down into the burrow to get closer to the animal. The rabbit screamed its little heart out as it backed up to the wall of its burrow out of terror at the golden mushroom. Once it extended all of its energy and adrenaline screaming while accepting its inevitable death, it realized a few things. This thing wasn't a monster that wanted to eat it. It smelt quite delicious and didn't taste so bad, either. Next thing it knew, the rabbit was zipping around the forest high on its newfound super speed.
Close to Astoria Village, a mushroom monster was innocently sitting in a forest clearing. It soaked in the sun while lazily relaxing. Unbeknown to it, as it was lying about, a silver gleaming mushroom suddenly hopped into its mouth when it yawned! The mushroom panicked as it felt something force itself down its throat. Since it had no arms, it had no way to try and force it out of its throat. It expected to start choking and dying, but instead, its body became a shiny silver coloration. Confusion took hold of the mushroom once it realized it wasn't dying. Then, a grey wolf suddenly attacked as it was still trying to process what the hell was happening. It shrieked in fright as it froze with a beast pouncing on top of it and biting into it.
When the mushroom monster realized that he could barely feel the claws and teeth of the monster, the paralyzing fear that stilled him disappeared. In its place, infinite courage soared within! Using its innate skill, Bounce, it hopped into the air with the wolf frantically holding on to it. The two of them soared high above the trees as the mushroom repositioned itself on top while they began to descend to the ground. A harsh crash and the remains of a grey wolf monster were left as the Metal Mushroom hopped its way deeper into the forest with a cocky grin on its face.
