Chapter 6 - College affairs

While Elina sat at the dining room table, two maids who had not been there the night before appeared to be in the kitchen.

When Hanada entered the dining room, he turned to face the maids, who were likewise staring at him with a hint of surprise, though not to the extent that they were considering whether Elina would invite a gentleman to her house in this particular manner.

"Good morning." Though Hanada's quiet greeting nearly caused the two maids to trip over each other in surprise, their extraordinary bodily control kept the tea set from toppling from their hands.

"Anna! This boy here is my niece and will be living with us from now on." While Elina was speaking, Emilia, fresh from the bath, rolled her eyes and went to speak with Maid Anna. Anna appeared as surprised as ever, but she asked no questions.

"Sister Elina, you need to tell them before all of this; things can be rather hard to digest if you spring them up on them like this." After Emilia finished her conversation with the maid, she spoke to Elina, who grinned and patted the seat next to her on the sofa.

"Hanada-kun, you can sit over here; also, those chairs are really weird, so avoid sitting on them."

Hanada, attempting to settle into the side chair, nearly trips when he looks back at the seat and notices the strange magical arrangement on it. This realization makes him realize that he may need to ask Emilia some questions regarding the house.

"Thanks!" He sat next to Emilia and thanked her, at which point she just grinned a little with a horrid expression on her face, as if she had remembered something from her past.

'What did she learn after sitting on that chair, I really do not want to experience something like that at all, though that expression says a lot.'

Emilia tried to hide her look of anger, but all Elina could do was smile from ear to ear as she walked over to sit in that chair. It was as though Elina's smile had never left her face.

'Wow, that chair has a strong magic arrangement for sure.'

Hanada used his crystal view spell the instant Elina sat in the chair, and he sensed the mana surrounding it changing. Given the intensity of the change, he knew the spell was powerful.

[Welcome! To Academia Island]

[3rd Degree Mana Outbreak at the South Hemisphere... ... ...]

[Uta Hime: "Changing the bright light." Upcoming, it's humanity time.]

On the bustling road leading to the small south of the university. Emilia was guiding Hanada as he approached the university that, thanks to Elina's intervention, he was able to enroll in, even though it was only the island's third-class university.

Despite the fact that the amount of Grade 2 he could receive would depend on his academic standing, Hanada's expression was one of curiosity, as this was the first time he had heard of the possibility of obtaining Grade 1 tier spells from the university library.

"So that's how it is; I am really excited to see some Grade 1 spell manuals and try them."

Hanada had those excited looks on his face as he walked along with Emilia, who was also smiling and looking at Hanada's expressions.

"What?" Sensing Emilia's gaze, he started to feel a little awkward when Emilia released a small smile, while Hanada finally picked up his pace, trying to avoid her gaze.

'Hehe! He is getting excited like that, but never thought of possibility that he might not be able to learn any grade 1 spells from the start.'

The magus craft was not the most ideal profession because learning spells for each grade had its own challenges.

Most learners from lower grades who attempted to learn grade 1 spells ended up staying at that level indefinitely.

However, Emilia was unaware that Hanada had no self-doubt at all and that the purpose of learning multiple grade 0 spells was to become familiar with the idea of spells and how they are cast.

"Then I will be going, Hanada-kun. See you in the evening then." After giving Hanada a general overview of the university that Hanada will be attending and also making sure that Hanada would learn about the major figures from aristocratic families in his college, she bid her farewell and walked away from the university, although there was a trace of concern in her mind.

It was, after all, the first time she had a close friend of his caliber who had not approached her with the openly contemptuous, corrupted intent of other nobles.

'He is a rational guy. He will be fine for sure.' She thought before turning to look at Hanada, who was still looking toward her with that same iconic smile on his face.

'Yeah, that's right? He will be fine on his own.'

'Kagami Irai! Princess of the southern rising family.'

'Maneral Von Pristine! 2nd Heir of the Novels-wealth family.'

'Adam Columbus! The perfect prince from Columbus, Dutchy, a real noble lineage.'

'Riel Vosfort! Noble from the central city of the Valium Dungeon.'

'At last, the most important persona, the perfect princess, who was the main attraction to the other three noblemen from before, Ashlyn Von Jewelsworth! A real princess from a special dutchy with unknown background for normal commoner.'

'I had to be aware of her at all costs. Though, why did Amelia say that I would get the chance to come in contact with her? When she was trying to warn me not to contact her during the normal class.'

Hanada was walking along, thinking about what Amelia had told him, when he felt something rush at him from the side. He automatically sidestepped the body that was still tripping over his shoulder and nearly fell.

"Oi! Stop!" Hanada, who was about to turn to leave after giving the man a quick sidelong glance, heard someone yelling at him and spun around to see the man's nearly quivering face.

"Yes!" 'Ah geez, a total typical villain-like face.' Hanada's face twitched a little, as he was totally aware of this kind of pattern in a normal novel-like scenario, until the other guy finally stood before him and extended his hand.

"Try your hardest not to lose this badge going forward; it is very important for newcomers and almost fell off your collar here."

Under the stunned gaze of Hanada, the guy handed him the badge and walked away to the side of a guy with glasses, who gave Hanada a quick look and smiled.

"That guy definitely thought that you were going to mess with him and was shocked after seeing your kind side, Riel!" The guy with the glasses laughed at his friend's pick-up line and joked off.

"Shut up, four eyes; you want to mess with me." Although looking irritated, Riel knew that his friend was right on the spot, but he could blame the other guy for thinking like that, plus the other guy was also a newcomer like him.

"That was rude of me." Hanada thought, as he remembered the guy's face, that if he could meet him in the future, he would definitely make it up for him in another form. After all, that guy was only trying to help him out.

"Wait, didn't that guy look a little familiar?" Hanada muttered, but soon remembered that he could be late, so he started to make a dash toward the principal office to submit the form that Elina had given him.

Knock!

After knocking on the door, Hanada waited outside in silence. Someone from inside opened the door, and a maid, who was probably 25 years old at the time, looked at Hanada.

Hanada pulled out the letter and gave it to her, and she accepted it with a polite smile before opening the door to allow Hanada to walk and gesture.

"Oh, welcome, kid." Within, Hanada saw an elderly woman he recognized from his youth, perched on the principal chair and staring at both Hanada and the other two pupils, who were roughly his age.

'Geh! These two of all people.'

Hanada was stunned, looking at the boy and the girl, who appear to be extremely beautiful with formal dressing, surrounded by several maids beside her, as she turned to look at him a little surprise, but those subtle emotions disappeared from her face in a moment before she turned to look at principle again.

'Adam columbus and Ashlyn Von Jewelsworth.' She had silver-blond hair. While the boy had black, dark hair, along with dark blue eyes, that had that noble presence to it.
