I was a mess of emotion when I came out of Gabriel's room. It felt like I had discovered his darkest secrets, which I was never interested in.
"That was quicker than I thought, madam." My heart almost jumped out of its position upon hearing Evelyn's voice.
"You scared me, Evelyn. Is there any surveillance camera in Gabriel's study?".

I shouldn't have used his computer. In fact, I shouldn't have accepted work from a stranger. The person obviously wanted me to see this. If there was a way I could unsee it,
"I just don't want him to get mad when he returns".

"He is in the study right now," Evelyn said, pointing at the wall door. I bit my lips nervously as Evelyn stuttered in fear. "Didn't you say you were just accessing a file with your drive? He called me to say that his system crashed".
"What should I do, Evelyn? His system just started to flicker, and I slammed it shut. I thought it would get back together on its own.
Evelyn believed me, but I sure know that I am as good as dead. Gabriel won't even listen to the plea of his wife not to talk of his servant.
My heart was racing. I was willing to accept my punishment, so I walked up to the door, and before I could knock, it jacked open, and Gabriel emerged.
His expression was dark and terrifying, and there were balls of flame in his eyes.
Gabriel's eyes really reddened. He could afford a new computer; I just didn't expect him to be this mad at me.
"What did you do with my laptop?" His hands were clasped together, and his knuckle had turned white.
I am sorry, Gabriel. My laptop is locked in my room, and my phone went off and I couldn't access the flash, so I used yours. I'm sorry for not letting you know".
Gabriel sighed. His expression was like he was screaming, 'This woman! Do you think you now control my house? Now they call you my wife. Wait until I am done with you'.

I bit my lips close. I didn't know how to tell him that I met someone who paid so much money for a little job. Without telling him, I went to the hospital for antenatal care.

I got it and gave it to him. I would even pay the $250, 000 to him if he requested it.
Once he snatched the flash from me, he stared at me with disgust. "Go to your room, and I don't want to see you out until we divorce".
"But...my room is locked ". He tossed something that looked like a spare to me, watched me leave the room, and slammed the door behind me.
One of his guards picked up the key and led me to the room before locking it from the outside.
I just couldn't get it. What exactly did I do wrong?
And why the hell did I end up with a monster? An inhumane creature that has no compassion whatsoever left in him.

My phone buzzed, and the caller ID showed Kiara. I don't know why I haven't blocked her yet. Her fucking name was still saved with a love emoji.
I just don't get it. Why is it so fucking difficult to cut her off? I'd have hundreds of blocked contacts, and just this one asshole I haven't blocked yet?
Well, maybe I was still waiting for her apology or explanation of why she would do that to me. My life has been messed up because of her decisions.
