"Please spare my life this once, and I will never cross your path again." I watched the middle-aged guy plead on his chair; his body wasn't tied, but if he dares to move an inch, he will be electrocuted to death.
I'd warned him to keep quiet, and things would go smoothly. For the first time, I wanted to give someone a painless death, but he is still insisting. I must be brutal.
I continued to clean my gun, which was worth half a million dollars. Ignoring his plea I just love the fact that I didn't cause the trouble myself. The *asshole* stole a painting from my museum, and whoever sent it most knew that the painting really contained the secret I was not ready to talk about.
"Now. I will ask you some questions, but before that, keep in mind that I don't repeat questions; otherwise, it will cost you a limb."I drew a chair closer and sat beside the man. If I didn't want to get some answers from him, his head would have already been shattered on the wall.
"I promise," he quivered in fear.
Just what I wanted. He should be afraid of Gabriel.
I placed my index finger on my lips, shutting him up as a unique scoff appeared on the corners of my lips. It's inevitable; I just can't help it.
"Who is your boss?"
"Aiden"
"Why did he send you to me? And why would you go knowing fully well you will die whether you succeed or not".
"He promised to take care of my family and also said he needed the painting because of the drive inside it."
My jaw dropped. How the hell did Aiden manage to find out about the drive?"
I gnashed my teeth in fury.
"Where is the painting now?" My anger was already taking hold of my voice. But the bastard won't answer.
"I said, Where on earth is the painting?"
"I swear by my grave; I do not know where it is." I pointed my gun at him and pulled the trigger. His blood spattered all over the place, and my white shirt too.
That bastard! I kicked his ass before going to change into a neat dress. At least he sure knows he has a grave already.
"Take care of him." Two of my men dragged his body to the grave. I hear people say that Don Gabriel was ruthless, but I still respect the fact that the dead should be buried.
I built a separate cemetery for my victims, and once in a while, a priest comes for a mass burial. At least they got the chance to rest in peace.
"Lighten that scowl, Gabriel, or else it would remain that way and women won't like your face anymore" Ethan took a lazy sip of his drink.
My cold smile told him how little I cared: "Perhaps if you took your own advice, you wouldn't be sleeping in a different room from your girlfriend now."
Satisfaction filled my chest as his eyes narrowed.
"At least I have one. What about you? You couldn't still get your guts to talk to Ava.
I smirked at his comeback. "A girlfriend is a nuisance."
Ethan considered himself my best friend. But I am sure I have no friends. He said that back in Washington, when he was still so clingy and dependent on his elder brother. Maybe I was his friend, but unfortunately, I had no friends.
How lucky he was to meet Maya two years ago when he went to visit Grandma
Now I have found my obsession but how the hell am I going to tell a girl who seems to love another asshole that she is bound to marry no man but me in this 21st century? I'd sound like a pervert. She is mine, and I own her. With time, I will claim her as well.
"Should we get back to business?" he said in a clipped voice. All humor vanished, bringing back the unsmiling asshole I was used to dealing with. "I didn't come here to discuss women, so let's get to the real issue at hand. When the fuck are we attacking that bastard?"
"You were eavesdropping on me. I've warned you to stop that shitty attitude.
"I can't help it, bro".
"I am not your brother, you bastard." I figured out that the drink he was sipping was also mine. My favorite scotch I hate people touching my things, and that's exactly what Ethan loves doing.
If not for that, I'would have discarded him. He says it in this dangerous tone that triggers my demon.
"I will go blind from looking at these every morning.
"Ethan pointed his finger at my first painting."
Meanwhile, Are you into fashion or painting?"
"Which suits me better?" I turned around, showing off my well-tailored suit to him.
"None," that bastard didn't even spare me a glance.
"Aiden is in Italy at the moment. Shouldn't we go after him?"
"Not now. Wait... " I moved quickly to my laptop and input the password like a bulb of ideas was about to explode in my head. Ethan forgot to mention that I was a badass computer wizard.
"I will hack his security, so he will assume I am out to get him. I need to know how many men we are up against.
Ethan nodded in approval. Maybe he thinks I need his fucking approval for anything. He dropped his drink and jumped over to stand right beside me as my fingers clicked so quickly on the keyboard.
I sighed at my frustration, which needed an outlet. Maybe I could use him. ***** I hacked his computer.
I was so sure that Aiden had a fishy video on his laptop. I scrolled down his video list until I found the video of Mr. Alexandro being murdered by him. His voice was there, and his face was visible as well, but I decided to blur it out. It won't be so fun if everything just goes easy and pissy. Luckily for me, Alexandro's case has been taken to court lately. His family didn't accept his cold death, and they filed for murder with no evidence. I will just help the prosecutor a little.
I forwarded the video to the FBI in charge of the case with Aiden's buddy's email.
I just have to wait and watch the drama unfold.
Ethan smiled. " I have a lot to learn from you."
"Learn how to keep your woman first," I said with an assuring smile before picking up my jacket and my car keys in a hurry.
"Where are you up to? It's snowing outside, remember?" I heard Ethan's voice, but I don't have the time to give him an answer.
It's past 7 p.m., and Ava isn't back from work. She's normally back by 5 p.m., and if she was so late at 6:30, now it's 7:01 and she isn't fucking back? ..
