In Konohagakure's training ground,
Boruto exclaims with tears of joy, "I did it! I finally learned how to use elemental powers!" Hinata nods, acknowledging his achievement as barely meeting the standard.
Hinata nodded gently.
Boruto was the child of Hinata and Naruto, and he had excellent innate bloodline talent. Under Hinata's guidance and his own efforts, he learned how to use and control elemental chakra in just one afternoon. This demonstrated his strong survival instincts.
"Congratulations on mastering all elemental affinities," Jugo said with a gentle smile.
"Yeah!" Boruto proudly nodded. Then he turned to Hinata and asked, "Mom, how long did it take you to learn all this initially?"
"How long?" Hinata pondered for a moment. "It took quite some time. My natural talent wasn't great."
"What about my dad, Naruto?" Boruto asked again.
"I'm not sure, but he discovered the method of elemental chakra training. He's the founder," Hinata replied, her voice gentle. She enjoyed being called "Mom" by Boruto; it made her feel comfortable.
"Did Dad invent this?" Boruto exclaimed. "Wait a minute, my dad is still in his teens, roughly my age. Has he already developed this advanced training method?"
"Exactly. And he has come a long way on this path," Hinata answered.
Boruto fell silent. The elation on his face faded. Initially, he thought this training method was unique to their world. He assumed that Hinata and Naruto were strong because they were locals who could learn this method from a young age and become more powerful.
But reality seemed different. Naruto had pioneered elemental chakra and turned Hinata and others into the first generation of pioneers, granting them abilities far beyond ordinary shinobi.
"I want to test my strength in combat, see how much I've improved," Boruto said earnestly.
"Combat? Let me guide you," Jugo volunteered.
"Sounds good!" Boruto's spirits lifted—it wasn't Hinata guiding him, but he was still thrilled.
"Hand signs? Why use hand signs? That's just a shortcut for the incompetent. True powerhouses don't need hand signs; they can directly use various Ninjutsu. That's the proper way to fight!" Jugo sternly reprimanded Boruto as he made hand signs.
"Uh, what?"
Boruto was confused. Since when could ninjas use Ninjutsu without hand signs? That's not right, is it? Not all Ninjutsu are like the Rasengan; how could this be?
"Use elemental power, elemental power. Directly form Ninjutsu by mentally manipulating elemental power, don't take shortcuts through hand signs. Using Ninjutsu with mental power only takes an instant, but hand signs waste time," Jugo continued.
"Chidori."
Jugo raised his hand, and without forming a single sign, Chidori was already crying out in his palm.
"?"
Boruto looked at Jugo's sign-less Chidori, feeling his worldview being shattered. Even his idol, the adult Sasuke, needed hand signs to use Ninjutsu, and it definitely couldn't be this simple when using Chidori.
"Great Fireball Jutsu."
"Water Dragon Bullet Technique."
"Earth Dragon Bullet Technique."
Jugo casually released various Ninjutsu without signs, and Boruto's shock gradually turned to numbness as he realized that forming Ninjutsu with elemental power really didn't require hand signs.
"Does that mean all the hand signs I practiced before were for nothing?"
Boruto said, somewhat devastated. It's hard for anyone to accept that their efforts have been in vain.
"In a way, yes. Let me give you an analogy. Once your control over the elements is up to standard, you won't think about hand signs when using Ninjutsu, just like you don't deliberately take off your pants to fart," Jugo said after a moment's thought.
"Oh."
Boruto responded listlessly.
It was a strange feeling, like a student who had studied diligently from childhood, working hard on complex subjects in high school, expending a lot of energy.
Then, the college professor says: "All that stuff you learned in high school is useless. Just learn the new knowledge with me, and you can forget the old stuff; it's useless now."
"Naruto and Sasuke are coming back; their chakra is approaching fast," Hinata, who was silently practicing nearby, suddenly said.
"Dad and Sasuke?"
"Both Sasukes are coming back. Naruto and the Sasuke from your world are together, and our world's Sasuke is rushing back from the Hidden Rain Village," Hinata added.
She touched her chin, looking carefully at Boruto, and couldn't help but wonder: If Naruto sees Boruto and learns that he is our child, will he have some special reaction?
Naruto and Sasuke returned to Konohagakure, both heading for the Konohagakure Hospital. Sasuke wanted to check on Karin in the hospital, while Naruto was going back to be hospitalized.
"Hey, Naruto, where's your wheelchair?"
Ino asked with her arms crossed and a frown.
"It got smashed by some guy in Kumogakure Village."
Naruto shrugged.
"A wheelchair? You were using a wheelchair?"
Adult Sasuke looked puzzled at Naruto, and Boruto was also curious.
"Naruto had a leg injury before, so he needed to use a wheelchair to get around, but it seems his injury has healed now, so the wheelchair doesn't matter anymore," Hinata explained to them both.
"Oh, I see."
Boruto understood.
"Oh, I see."
Adult Sasuke was taken aback. He never dreamed that Naruto, who could kick his complete Susano'o to pieces and call it a purple plastic bag, was just recovering from a serious illness. That was just too outrageous.
"And you? Are you alright? Is the communication with Kumogakure Village going smoothly?" Ino asked with a sigh of concern.
Boruto was gradually realizing that the situation was complex, and the adult Sasuke also felt the atmosphere was a bit delicate. Hinata's gaze drifted towards Boruto inadvertently, her thoughts unknown.
"It's fine, they are all easy to communicate with. They probably won't wage war anytime soon," Naruto said with a smile.
Then, he turned his gaze to Sasuke, the Sasuke of this world, and asked, "How about you? Iwagakure Village should be settled by now, right?"
"Yes, it's settled. Iwagakure Village shouldn't harbor any thoughts of starting a war for a hundred years," Sasuke said proudly, tilting his head up.
Everyone in the room was curious about what Sasuke had done to be so confident that Iwagakure Village wouldn't start a war for a hundred years. If it was just a general deterrence, it shouldn't have such an effect.
Did he do something significant in Iwagakure Village?
