Chapter 7 - An Advise From a Dream to the Reality

My friend, Amana, told me a story and I liked to share it with you. Amana started:

"As usual, I was with my friends, Rema and Suaad, in the neighborhood. We went to a near shop and bought some stuff then we returned with big bags. While we were going into my house to put the stuff, a car went through and the speaker in it was inviting to watch a play for all people greater than ten years in the night. We put the stuff and run towards the car to buy the tickets for the show. Then we waited for it the whole day.

At night, we prepared and went towards the place of the show, luckily, we were setting in the first row. After some hours, the hall was full and the lights got off announced for the starting of the show.

The show started with the rise of a shadowy actor, where he was acting behind the curtain and weren't able to see only his shadow. He started to talk:

"One day, I was walking beside a small restaurant, and I heard one of the customers setting down talking to his friend that he shouldn't be mean and should help the others and like these words. After his friend went to do something, a small homeless child come to him and asked him from some food for his hungry siblings: the man was bothered and shouted at the child telling him to go away before he get the owner of the restaurant and kick him out.

What a rapid change of opinion, right!? If you want to be more specific, he didn't change his opinion! All what he did is putting points on the other's flaws and ignorance his as if he is complete! Not only him, there are so many people like him in our world today.

Of course, it's not the first time someone puts on the other's flaws without looking to his, and maybe some of them are between us now.

Dear people, if looking to the other's flaws make us feel complete, then know that no one is complete! You can't be complete because you're only a human, and everyone makes mistakes. Remember, that someone is putting on your flaws just like you do to others, you are treated as you treat others.

Instead of looking to the others' flaws and accountable them and putting on them, why not accountable ourselves and putting on our flaws? Correct our flaws and find solution and help others, doesn't that help you feel better? Really, does insulting others make us complete? What do you mean by complete?

If you want to change this world, we first should change our self! We can't demand justice, and we don't treat people justly in our daily lives. We can't demand equality between men and women, and we differentiate between them in or daily lives! We have to narrow down what we want before we ask it from others.

We can't return to the past and change what we did, but we can change our present and future. Let's change ourselves now, and change this harmful reality starting from us till we put some nice light touches on others life that help them to change to better.

In the end, I wish my advice may change some of yours way of thinking and help you to start a new life. And always remember, this life we lived once, so let's live it in harmony and peace with others and happiness and hope."

The light got on again, and no one moved from his place. Everyone is waiting for the announcement of the actor's name and see his looks. The welcome got on the stage and started: "Now, I hope everyone welcome the actor of the show …"

"Amana, Amana, wake up for the praying! Come on Amana!"

I opened my eyes to find myself in my bed while my mother's nice voice was calling me for the morning praying. I got up and prayed then sat on my bed thinking about the strange dream. That was when my mom came and asked me: "Do you want to come with me to the cemetery, Amana?"

I looked surprisingly to me my mom then remember that it's the first day of the happy Al-Fitr days!

"Yes, mom, I will get read!" I replied."
