A boy could be seen running in the woods chasing after a rabbit, he joined his hand together as he muttered incoherent words to himself and following his action was the appearance of five arrows that seemed to be made of gaseous shadows.

The arrows flew towards the little critter who seemed to avoid them as though its life depended on it, it attempted to out maneuver the slow moving projectiles but to no avail, the arrows went through the body of the rabbit before fading away, leaving the rabbit's dead body in its wake.

The boy picked up his dinner before heading to a nearby lake, he looked into and stared into his reflection, his white skin tanned from gruesome hours under the sun, his blue eyes he had inherited from his dad and his black hair from his mom. Usually, such thoughts would awaken joy but for him, it made him recollect how he lost his parents.

3 Years Ago------

A woman with black hair and yellow streaks brushed her hair slowly, her youthful visage in contrast with the wooden interiors of the shack she lived in, "Come here young Noah, come" her sweet motherly voice beckoned to her son who sat on the floor as there was no real furniture in the house.

*Bang*

The door flew open to reveal a blonde man with blue streaks and a scruffy beard, "Please leave" his voice whispered to his spouse, "Leave now!" his low caring voice taking an aggressive tone, "What why?" the woman voice cracked from the thought of being kicked out of her matrimonial home, "I contracted it, I don't know how but I contracted it" his eyes turned red as they watered,

"What sweety, what did you contract?" she asked even though she knew the answer but she inwardly prayed to be wrong, "The Mirror Plague" the mirror plague was a strange infection; upon contraction, it changed ones elemental affinity to its counterpart, from air to earth, from light to darkness, and in the man's case, from water to fire. But why be scared if it gives untold power because there are only two outcomes of an infection, either the conflicting elements destroy the host or the host loses his magic altogether.

The man's vision blurred as his blue streaks flashed red, releasing a wave of flames that quickly set the house on fire, he weaved hand signs and muttered incantations and in response, a sphere of water gathered in the air above him, he released his D-Rank spell, Caring Waters, around him but midway through expansion, it turned to its elemental counterpart, Devouring Flames and increased the rate of burning.

Realization struck Noah's mother as she casted her personal B-Rank spell, Mother's Gale, on her son, his body slowly turned into air before dispersing and reassembling some distance from the house. The young Noah looked in the direction of his house just in time to witness its explosion.

Present Day----

Noah stopped staring at the lake before he proceeded to cook and eat his dinner, the rabbit, before sleeping.

*Boom*

Noah's eyes shot open as he looked around him trying to discern the source of the explosion and his vision, a clearing made of flaming trees revealed the path of what had landed. Fueled by curiosity, he went to investigate only for him to see a multi colored crystal which he promptly picked up and as soon as it made contact with his hand, it started to pull out a gaseous shadow from his body and in front of Noah's eyes, the crystal turned transparent before it flew to his chest, sending him flying and knocking him out.
