I didn't want to wear something too flamboyant.It always betrayed me and my grandmother knew how to notice it very well. I decided to wear my all-in-one black jumpsuit. It had a low neckline but had sleeves. I accompanied it with a thin black belt around the waist and a pair of shiny heels. My hair was curly and hung on my left shoulder, my makeup was natural.
"Maddy, you're ready, it's almost 7 o'clock!"Shouted my grandmother from the top of the stairs. I put my arms in my jacket and examined myself. I'm ready to go. I took my bag, my phone and my money and went down.
My grandmother was waiting for me at the foot of the stairs.
"Oh, my God, you look so much like your mother!" The moment these words came out of her mouth, I stopped. I could never see her, but I knew I had her eyes. "The more years are passing,the more you look like her."
"Don't cry."I murmured, venting my face as I felt my eyes start crying.
"I am so proud of the woman you are becoming." She murmured, wiping her cheeks. "Come on, darling, let's go." Going down the rest of the stairs, I noticed the box my grandmother was holding.
"Grandma, did you make a cake?"She knew how to cook, but pastry was not really her thing.
"No, I bought one."She laughs as she closes the door and we start walking.
"My God Maddy, their house is beautiful!"It was the first time I saw Alanna's parents' house. It must be the largest on the street.
Money speaks.
"It's huge!"I whispered as we approached the front door.
The door was already open, I could hear a slight sound of music in the background. There were more guests than us and I suddenly felt nervous.
"Guys, come in!" Charlotte smiled at us as she brought us in. I had forgotten how pretty she was. "Maddy, Alanna is in her room.Ellen,I'm going to take your coat."
She proposed and my grandmother accepted. I immediately saw that they had money, but they didn't resent us, they didn't look stuck.
I had already started climbing the stairs, but I did not ignore the looks I received. I heard music, followed the sound and stopped in front of his door. With my hand on the handle, I pushed it.
"So you have a room here and you share a house with Jake, how rich are you?" I joked when I closed the door behind me.
Alanna was sitting in front of the mirror of her wardrobe and was putting on makeup.
"I'm not rich, it's my parents who are." She gets up pulling her tongue. "I stole something to start with." With a wink, she took out a bottle of Jagermeister.
"If you want me to have dinner, I can't touch that." She had already broken the seal and passed me the bottle."Alanna…"
"Just a little!" She smiled, "Seriously, you are damn sexy. He's going to be furious if he sees you like that tonight... Shit." She whistled as if she knew she did shit. But instead of questioning her, I passed her the bottle after drinking a sip. I could act as if I hadn't heard anything.
However, I was wondering what she meant. Jake was not interested in me. He had this other girl who was falling at his feet.
I asked her:
" What is your plan to get us out of here?" I knew that if I sent a message to my grandmother to tell her that I was going out, there would be no problem. As long as I wasn't drunk and came home before the time limit.
"It's already done!"She winks while drinking a new sip of the bottle. "My mother doesn't mind us missing dinner. As long as I find Jake when I'm ready to go home." She rolled her eyes and gave me back the bottle. "I can't get drunk alone, Maddy, so drink, please."
And that's what happened. When we prepared to leave, I was pumped, but happy and drunk. For the first time since my arrival, I was starting to feel myself again.
"Alanna, you look amazing," I said, looking at her with admiration. Her hair fell in perfect waves on her back and her makeup was perfect. This girl was really beautiful.
"Look at yourself in the mirror, my darling." By sending me a kiss, I couldn't help laughing. I was happy to have met her, I knew we were going to become great friends. "Damon is dropping us off".Her face was buried in her phone. "He will be there in ten minutes."
I asked her if it was a good idea.After what happened today, I wasn't sure it was a good idea to be next to him, and I was talking about myself. For one reason or another, Jake didn't like Damon being near me.
"Jake won't be there, he's at training camp with Paul and a few others.We are safe for tonight."
I wasn't going to lie, I was a little disappointed not to be able to see him. I still felt strangely attached to him.
We got along well and, strangely, I felt free in his presence.
"Don't look so disappointed!"She teases me,that makes me raise my cheeks. "I'm sure he will show up during the night, as he always does, and that he will take us home."
"I'm not!" I lied and she noticed it.
"Yes, yes, we'll see which bed you'll be in at the end of the
night."
"Alanna!" I moaned. I didn't intend to go out and meet someone .I just wanted to dance and get my head off.
"I'm joking, let's see, he's parked in the street."
