Veda stood watching over the square that sat before the Palace, noticing the decorations of fairy lights and a long table dressed in pastels and delicate beading. But Veda's mind was on the pictures of Marv, her mind on that sweet smile in those warm arms. It made her sick to her stomach, but at least she had a dinner party to take her off things. Mel suddenly appeared in front of Veda, breathing heavily and crouching before her, the librarian rubbing his back as caught his breath.
"What's happening? Mel" Veda asked the tailor.
"It's Arini. She forgot to replace Marv, so now she is crying in the bathroom" he exhaled, stressing over the thought. "I ran the whole way here, and I didn't drink. My daily supply was up all night." He said.
"It's ok, get home, drink some blood, rest and tell Daphne to meet me at your studio, ok?" Veda nodded at him, as she ran off.
