Even though Marv was exhausted from running, she rushed past the dark, quiet courtyard towards the palace, with her heart still beating frantically. Her arms were shaking, lacking the comfort of Veda's warmth, and she knew that if she left a letter, Veda would follow her, and she needed space. Veda was always right, but Marv didn't need space from her, from the world she was about to step into, and she wasn't gonna find it here. 

Marv came to a marble hallway, fire lamps lit it up. And as she began to step lightly down it, the taste of blood still on her tongue, Arini and Arjun scents floated through the air. Marv has never been to this side of the palace. Normally it was to the throne room and back, or Arini's private gardens, but never this aesthetic hallway with mood lighting. The scents brought her to a tall door. Marv took in a deep breath and knocked on it.
