Marv opened her eyes to a darkened room, her eyes searched around the place, looking for one person but she didn't find him. This was the first time she had ever woken from near death without him, Marv turned around to try to recognize the room but her neck hurt. She grabbed it, wailing at the feeling but she realized where she was, in the healing room again, and she hated it. Marv sat up, hoping Veda would make an appearance to take her away from this horrid place until she saw a silhouette in the corner of the room and Marv let out a sigh of relief.
Veda sat silently watching Marv move around, guilt burning in her stomach. "I am sorry," Veda said, holding her hands together, trying to ignore the feeling of Marv's blood on her hands, even though she had cleaned it all off.
"What?" Marv asked, her relieved mood was long gone.
"I shouldn't kiss you" Veda whispered in the room, her voice was strained and weak.
