Pointing to the different books, trinkets, and jewels that covered each surface of his living room, Arioch declared, "This, this, and these, we can sell this." He proceeded to pick up a book and started flipping through its pages.
Minjun stood writing each item, "don't you think this is a bit much? I feel like I am sorting out your will. It is a bit morbid, isn't it?" Arioch stared with glasses sitting on his nose.
"We are vampires. Isn't that morbid enough?" Arioch said, walking around the living room. "now, the vintage car, the 1959 Ford Thunderbird, the 1967 Ford Mustang and the Eldorado"
"Awe, The Eldorado," Marv said as the two vampires turned towards the newcomer. "It is so beautiful, black interior and exterior with copper finishing. Gorgeous" Marv stood with a sandwich in her hand.
"How did you get in?" he growled, while Minjun looked intrigued.
She gave him a deadpan look "really…" Arioch just glared at her "locking your doors didn't stop shit" she took another bite of her sandwich "by the way, I made a sandwich" she took another bite of creamy cheese, fresh lettuce and smoked ham "Also, why do you have food in your fridge?"
Arioch shook his head. "Vampires don't eat for nutrients but for taste," he said in a sneer.
Marv stood quietly. "That doesn't answer my question"
Arioch just turned his back away from her "leave" he threw over his shoulder.
"You are such a killjoy," Marv said with her mouth full.
Minjun found their interaction so intriguing. "Interesting," he said to himself.
Arioch turned to him. "Don't encourage her," he warned the flamboyant vampire.
"please do," Marv smirked as Minjun smiled at her.
"I am Minjun, I am the killjoy's assistant" he presented his hand, which Marv shook.
"Marv, real name Marvel, you can imagine that childhood but please just Marv" she smiled, her eyed the vampire over.
He wore a waistcoat of chains and thick combat boots "you look so familiar" he studied Marv for a moment but Arioch growled which made Minjun speak "so what do you want him, Marv"
Marv smiled as she fell into a couch "Well, I have a death wish" Minjuin looked at Arioch, who was pretending to ignore the mortal "I looking for a pleasurable night and even satisfying end" Minjuin just stare at her "I wanna fuck and die" she said nonchalantly.
"Oh," Minjun was surprised, "and you think Arioch can do that for you?"
Marv bit her lip and smiled. "He can do a lot for me" Arioch grunted and walked to pick up some jewelry.
"But how did you find out about us? I mean mortals don't believe in vampires," Minjun asked which made Arioch's ears perk up.
Marv ate the last bite of her sandwich. "It was coincidence, really" dusted off her lap.
"you finding me was coincidence" Arioch approach who gave him a bored look.
"no, finding you was easy, but finding out about vampires was a coincidence" Marv sat back ready to tell the story.
"expand" Arioch said, eyeing Minjun, ready to throw blame.
"well, I have a chatty coworker who has a fascination with the supernatural, especially vampire" Marv pointed to the two vampires in the room "which I kind of numbed out of HER daily conversation but that all changed when I found two vampire making out in the bathroom, so one thing lead to another and I am here" she smiled but the two just stared at her.
"But how did you find ME" Arioch stressed the last word.
Marv rolled her eyes "while this co-worker and I started talking about the lonely, mysterious vampire, a folklore" she suggested to Arioch "the story took place here in South Africa, which is weird but who am I to judge, so I went into the property ancestry, easy peasy" Marv turned to Arioch "you should really change the name on property deed which brought me here"
Arioch turned to Minjun "out of all the things, you didn't think to update the property deed"
Minjun raised his hands "hey, I am not the one who didn't want to hide" he accused Arioch.
"hide from what?" Marv asked, which made Arioch quickly change the subject.
"I am still not gonna kill you" Arioch was with a deadpan expression
"and I will keep coming back, like a puppy" Marv stood to her feet "or a stray, and you already fed me so good luck with that" she smiled as Arioch huffed at her.
"I like her" Minjun smiled as Marv flickered her hand with a hush 'stop'.
A phone rang through the gothic halls again "hold on" Marv said, fishing out her phone "hello" she answered while Arioch punched Minjun arm to stop encouraging her "another shift, hold on" she turned to Arioch "gonna killed me today?" she asked.
"never" he grasped at her.
She nodded "yup, I am available" she ended the call and turned away "so I am off, see you tomorrow, bye bye" she waves moving to the front door "nice to meet you, Minjun" she shouted over her shoulder.
"nice to meet you too, Marv" Arioch hit him in the back of his head.
"Stop encouraging her and we need to bulk up security again, if a mortal can get in, anyone mortal can" Arioch was seeping with anger, something Minjun never seen in years.
"Why though" Minjun exhaled, dragging his arms. "she is so fun and you never see anyone but me and Nandi," he pointed out. "And I think it is effecting your mood"
"I don't want to deal with Teratophilia" Arioch grunted "especially ones with heedless for life"
Minjun stayed silent for a moment. "How can someone with such a life want to die so badly?" Arioch stopped rampaging through his collectables and Minjun faded white eyes.
He didn't understand it either. She burst through here full of life, but her course is so deadly. Perhaps that's why he was hesitant to grant her wish, or maybe he feared opening himself up to violence and never being able to close himself off again. That thought alone scared him, so pushed it out of his mind and went back to his collections.
