The sun burned Marv's back as they hiked up a mountain. The heat waves rising from the peaks of the mountain transported Marv back to their time in Recce, where they hiked for kilometers on end. Carry heavy equipment, try to be as quiet as possible, and be on the alert, but it has been years since she stepped foot in that world and she was way out of practice.
Marv stopped, which made Veda stop. She watched Marv grab her bottle of water and drain it out of her head, shaking the access off.
"God, how much longer?" Marv heard Noah's voice as she turned to face the memory.
He stood a bit of a way from her, holding a water canteen and debating whether to pour it over his head or keep his beautiful waves intact. "Just throw the water over yourself. I will help you tonight with your hair," she laughed, and he poured the water over himself and she chuckled. "Better?"
"Much better" he walked up to her and rubbed her head.
