....Living with Marvel...…

. . . . . . . . . . . A Halloween special. . . . . . . . .

"I don't get the excitement of Halloween," Hilo said as he flicked a rubber spider off his grapefruit. Another one of Marvel's failed attempt at scaring him.

Marvel rolled her eyes. "How can you, of all people, not like Halloween? You are all goth and stuff," she gestured at his outfit.

Hilo looked down at his countless chains, a maroon shirt , black three piece suit with chains hanging from the belt, and platform boots "I think it is ridiculous to teach your children that once a year they can go beg for cheap shitty candy from strangers" he said enjoying his cup of coffee.

"Well, you better get into the Halloween spirit because we throw a major party right here," Nandi said as she flipped crumpets on the stove.

Marvel nodded, in her orange jumpsuit that had daisies on it. "It is gonna be epic, dancing, singing, and junk food" She chewed on her bacon.

"I can invite anyone, right?" Minjun poked his head from under the sink.

Nandi nodded. "Yes, invite everyone, friends, coworkers, neighbors," she spoke with her hands.

"Not our neighbors, right?" Marvel asked with worry on her face.

Hilo nudged her, "What? Worried that they will find out about you stealing their crystals&sage magazine every Monday," Marvel threw the fake spider at him.

"They don't even read them. Why let them go to waste?" Marvel explained.

"what about Karma?" Hilo teased but Marvel swiped her hand around herself.

"I am Karma, making use of those magazines," Marvel said with a bright smile.

Hilo just smiled at her, "Well, count me out" he stood, pushing the rest of his coffee towards Marvel.

She smiled and held the cup in between her hands. "Oh, Mark my words, Hilo, I will scare you into the Halloween spirit" She pointed her finger at him like a witch.

But he just laughed. "I am off" he stood, moving to the back door.

Suddenly, a bang sounded in the kitchen. The sink fell onto Minjun's head. His arms and legs were twitching and red liquid spilled from the inside. Nandi stood with her mouth ajar and eyebrow raised while Marvel let out a frantic but exaggerated scream, which made Hilo roll his eyes and left the kitchen.

Marvel was still screaming until she realized that he didn't fall for it. "Min, he didn't fall for it"

Min stood and looked up at Hilo. "It was worth a shot" he moved to Nandi, who gave him a plate of crumpets, bacon, and eggs.

But as he passed her, his scent took her by surprise. Nandi signaled and Marv Looked at her of curiosity, but all Nandi did was flap her arms around, which made Marvel squint her eyes even more.

"I've got another job, later" Minjun threw up a peace sign and left the kitchen.

Nandi flew towards Marvel and placed a plate before her. She slipped into the seat next to Marvel and looked around the room to check if anyone was listening. They were alone in the kitchen.

"Min new Cologne is very sweet for his taste" Nandi threw the words out there.

Marvel looked up at her with a pancake half to her mouth. "Min doesn't like cologne, sensitive skin, like me" She took a big bite out of her food.

"Yeah, yeah, true, true" she stammered under her breath "but he does smell like lavender and citrus" Marvel ears perked up.

Marvel dipped her bacon into golden syrup and ate it. "Are you saying what I think you are saying?" she eyed Nandi and caressed her finger on the table.

"Are you thinking what I think you are thinking?" Nandi murmured.

They eyed each other for a moment. "Nah, that can't be it," Marvel said as she drank Hilo's coffee.

"or can it be? " Nandi suggested lightly.

Marvel jumped up. "You locked the front door and I will take the back" She ran for the back door.

Nandi to the front door, across the living room. They met each other at the bottom of the stairs before they both ran up it. Marvel almost tripped as they went, but Nandi caught her. They busted into Minjun's room; it was so untouched and still. Black and white anime pictures and quotes stood alongside black and white posters of indie rock bands on the wall. Plastic vines flowed from every corner and hung over his white bed. His entire room was white, but the gifts and tickets that his friends gave him were only color.

Nandi immediately lifted the pillows and blankets to sniff them. "No scent, they didn't spend the night here" She turned to Marvel looking through his stuff.

Marvel shook her head. "Everything is here, nothing new or extra" She struggled when she noticed Min's sketchbook on the side table. "Sketchbook," she pointed it out to Nandi, who went for it.

Nandi flipped through the beautiful drawings of her, Hilo, Marvel, and pretty landscapes. " Mmmm… nothing" She placed her hands on her hips.

Marvel looked through his exposed wardrobe, sniffing each clothing item "Ooo, I got a scent" she shifted again as Nandi dug something from his draw "It does smell very zesty" she sniffed again "That's amazing, too sweet for me but very nice"

"Well, I found something even sweeter" Nandi held Min's phone between her fingers and Marvel leaped towards her nosy friend.

"Omg, yes," she expressed, watching Nandi try to get into his phone. "Do you know the password?" She laid her head down on Nandi's shoulder, using her tippy toes.

Nandi exhaled, frustrated. "Ugh, no" Marv pouts, but a bing sounds through the room.

"Oh My God" Marvel gasped as the text appeared:

*had a great time, can't wait for the next date*

They begin to scream in excitement, holding each other and laughing.
