Synopsis
One day I found an unknown novel on my desk. It had a plain cover with no title. I didn't know from where this book had come. Intrigued, I started reading it. It was the story of a character whose name was never once mentioned in the story, a HERO who killed its own people, a HERO who sacrificed itself for one who destroyed his world. It was a story of a failed HERO. The day I finished the novel.......... something happened and I ... maybe died? When opened my eyes there was a translucent window in front of me. [ A soul?? souls?? ... from the dying world complete the trial to enter the cycle of rebirth or be destroyed.] LK here!!!! If you like the novel pls leave a nice review to motivate me and also if you find any mistakes pls mention them. The cover pic is not mine.I will change it when i have a proper cover for it.

Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: Light in the abyss.

Chapter 1:Light in the abyss or pure in profanity.

In a dark void, like a mind without any thoughts, an orb of white light, shimmering with a radiant divine golden hue, was present like a sole star in the vast expense of nothingness.

The golden hue coming from the orb moved and shaped itself into the ethereal figure of a girl with a white orb as its heart. It was as if a God had descended into the cruel darkness herself to face some evil being. The golden hue shimmered as flames that can purify the evilest beings, around the divine figure.

Her eyes were closed uncaring of the darkness around her. There was a pained expression on the face of the sleeping God, It was as if she was having a nightmare. The abyss itself moved to embrace this divine presence.

The intangible shadows emerged and shifted into the form of a murky charcoal-black hand. The ominous black hand appeared from the abyss, and slowly approached the girl's cheek. The shadowy hand, that maybe can destroy the soul of a person just with a slight touch, gently caressed the girl's cheek.

The shimmering golden hue moved toward the 'hand' as if caressing it in return and welcoming its presence. The hand of the ethereal figure moved toward the 'hand' and rested on them to not let them go. A gentle smile adorned the face of the ethereal figure and her expression relaxed.

The golden hue started to recede inside the girl's body or in her heart to be more precise. As on cue, the 'hand' of the darkness escaped the girl's grasp and started to retreat toward the abyss. A frown appeared on her delicate brows. Her eyes fluttered. Her hand which was just placed on the 'hand' of the shadow started to reach for the retreating hand of the abyss desperately.

By the time the girl opened her eyes, the hand had dissipated into the darkness. Her crystal-like golden eyes, filled with confusion, opened and started to scan her surroundings.

"...???"

[ The girl's POV before opening her eyes.]

The whole world was plunged into chaos. The last citadel of humanity, which had faced countless battles, was now just minutes away from falling all because of the people living inside its protection, all because of their greed.

Three gigantic gates, towering kilometers in the sky like reaching heaven itself, of #$%* rank opened at the center of the city. Gates usually emit vile dark energy, which can taint the soul of any living being lower than their rank within seconds if they come in contact with it, known as corruption.

Countless abominable creatures were pouring out in reality out of these gates as a flood and attacking them as their divine or maybe profane judgment. Screams were everywhere, people were being shredded to pieces, and some were even eaten whole.

These gates were no exception, but there was something different about one of them. Rather than the usual corrupt aura, which normally portrays them as gates to the ruined worlds or hell usually called by people, this one emanates a pure golden aura devoid of any corruption.

Many people were running toward it. Some even begged me, their hero to help them, but I simply ignored them as they were killed before me. It was a title that they gave me to manipulate me into saving them anyway. I didn't care about any of them now. I didn't feel anything as they were being killed around me. My eyes were fixed on the body lying in front of me.

My mind was unable to process what it was seeing or maybe it didn't want to admit what was in front of it. Something warm trickled down my cheek.

I knelt down or maybe my legs gave out, I didn't know. I kept staring at her lifeless body with blank eyes. There were countless wounds on her body. Wisps of her dying divine flames were still lingering around her wounds trying to mend her master with stubborn determination.

Her body was slowly breaking into golden particles rising into the sky as if God didn't want her to remain among these greedy people. I raised her in my arms and summoned my own divine flames around her trying to stop her from fading. We both were enveloped in a pillar of golden flames.

The corrupted creatures that tried to come near us were burned to dust by the flames. The humans who tried to take shelter in the flames were also not spared because their greed was no less vile than these corrupted creatures.

The particle slowly returned, and her wounds healed, but she didn't wake from her slumber.

I tried again, and again, and again.

But it was all for naught.

"why why why why why ....mom why??????"I screamed. My flames burst out destroying everything in its path. Verticle pupils appeared in my golden eyes. Spirits of dead humans and corrupted creatures rose around me.

"I will kill them... I will kill them... I will kill them..."

I gently put my mom's body to the ground after casting a protective shield of flames around her and stood up.

Roaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaar!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It was just then I heard an ear-piercing roar. I turned in the direction of the roar.

There, in front of the Golden Portal, stood a gigantic transparent spirit dragon killing anyone who tried to enter the portal. Inside the body of that fierce dragon, there was a man whose eyes were filled with unimaginable fury. Anyone who looked at it trembled in fear and despair.

But contrary to others there was only concern for it my eyes for it.

"He is killing himself." I thought as I saw cracks appearing on his soul. Yes, he was killing himself by harnessing power more than his soul could handle.

With one step I appeared in front of the dragon. I stood there, looking at the figure inside the dragon. Our eyes, mine bestial golden and his furious purple, locked onto each other.

People around me rejoiced as they thought their hero had come to save them, but they couldn't be more wrong.

I turned around, looking at the people who looked at me with hope. They cried and thanked God for listening to their prayers. My eyes fell on one of them, he was holding a silver sword in his hands. It was a sword that I knew very well.

It was my mother's.

I raised my hand towards him. He was confused by my actions, but then the sword in his hands shook. Before he could realize the sword flew in my hands.

After that, there were only screams.
