As Maria walked out of the room, she felt as though a huge weight had been lifted off her shoulders. She sighed in relief as she affirmed that she wouldn't let the man bully her anymore.
Just as she was about to walk out of the front door, she felt a slight vibration from her bag. Her phone was ringing.
She rummaged through the bag until she finally got hold of the device. When she saw the person calling, the corner of her lips curled up into a smile.

She picked the call and but didn't say anything. She expected the man to come crawling to her once he read the will.
That, or he'd organise her murder. But the Dan she knew had no backbone nor common sense, so she was expecting a call and not an assassin.
"Maria, are you there?" The man asked with a little doubt in his voice. He wouldn't have thought that anyone was on the other side of the call had he not heard her faint breathing through the phone.
