As the trio were walking in the dark hallway, Thusixla was finally puttig down active markers, Likyl on the other had did not see the point in putting it now but did not comment on it.
"The hallway is about 4-5 metres wide and about three meters tall and feels to have been made of mud." Thusixla said as she palced those active markers. She knew Likyl was inwardly questioning her, but who cared about some sheltered princess who mostly stayed out of the battles.
"Thats reassuring" Likyl muttered after hearing that the walls were made of mud. {I think they want to trap us somehow} Likyl said in the mind link.
{That is the poblem, how tho} Thusixla mused.
If she were that old priestess woman and she heard the people she wanted to kill had escaped their first ambush with flying colors, or rather debris, what would she do... she would call on the strongest fighter of her temple, That is after weakenig them by setting traps... That might no work since she would have at least watched the whole process in a safe place and realise how powerful those people were and would rather drain them of their energy.
"I see people infront ". Likyl suddenly exclaimed. This shocked and confused Thusixla as she wanted to know how Likyl saw these people. Daimos did not waste much time.
{We are connecting}. Likyl silently gave her consent and got ready to swap with the Daimos's wisp of consciosness in her mind space that was dormant before.
Tentacles appeared around Daimos and Likyl and blue rings appeared on them, lighting the whole passage. Unlike the huge hall they were in before, this place was more narrow, allowing the light from the blue rings to travel further and about 30 meters infront of them stood a group of white claded temple disciples. This time a bit different than the others.
This ones looked to be wearing what looked like cloaks that somehow covered their faces and their whole body.
"Light mages!! counter that light!!" A command was heard and three of the white cloaked people stepped out of the formation and each created a light source on each of their hands that looke small balls of light.
"""Mini sun!!"" They yelled in unison as the directed their hands to the ceiling of the wall, illuminating the whole place, the light affected Daimos's blue rings light but did not over light it? Since it's light, it can't be over shadowed right?.
Anyways, due to the cramped space of the passage and the formation of the white robbed men, Daimos and the others could not really count the number of men there were, but that was not their priority now.
"Now fire mages!!!"
"Yes!! Fireball!!"
Another group of those white robed men came out balls of fire appeared on their hands and they hurled it Daimos and his group... but the speed of the fire balls were a bit... slowly?.
There were a total of sixteen fireballs heading to into their direction, but the speed at which the fireballs moved was something that Daimos and Thusixla found confusing. Normally, a fireball could cover a distance of 10 meters in one second, depending on the caster. Some more experienced mages could make those fireballs hit you in an instance, but the fireballs of these mages was like it was moving at one metre per every five seconds.
Thusixla revealed her tentacles from her back.
Instantly, balls of water appeared infront of her and hot at the group of men, covering the distance of 30 meters in seconds. For the white robed men, it was like they just blinked and balls of water suddenly appeared infront of them.
Boom
The force of some the water balls hitting the walls of the passage way were like steel balls hitting a wall. For the white robed guys, it was a death sentence.
The path infront of them was clear, but there were still some men that were alive. The light in the passage instantly went dim and Daimos's blue ring light once again illuminated the passage, bathing it with it's blue light.
"Maybe those light mages got killed to?" Thusixla said unsure, but she still focused on the remaining men blocking their way.
"Quickly take your hp potions!!" A voice was heard ordering the remaining survivors, this one was different than the others, indicating that the first commander was either dead or heavily injured.
The remaining survivors waved their hands and small bottles with some green liquid appeared in their hands.
Before they could open the caps tho...
A heavy wind attacked them and blew those bottles out of their hands and broke on the floor. Some panicked and ran to the spilt contents of the bottle on the muddy floor in hopes of at least salvaging some of it's contents, some of them quicly made more space between Daimos and Thusixla and again brought out their hp potions and quickly drank it.
Instantly, Daimos saw that those who were heavily injured were currently healing at a fast rate, looking at their torn and bloody robes, one could tell that they looked to have not been injured at all.
"What..." Even Thusixla was shocked at what she saw. It was like looking at some video game characters healing themselves after taking a good beating from a boss. In their dimiension, they did have things like these potions, but they were harmful in the long run, as your body would sooner or later start rejecting it and it will lead to some very heavy side effects.
"They did not tell us that these monsters would be that strong!!" One of them said, as pulled a staff out of nowhere.
"Yes, but imagine if we defeat them" Another added, this time doning on a set of gold armor that, glistened in the dark passage.
"A shit load of Xp!!!" Another said, literally drooling on the ground as he took out a book.
Hearing their gaming references and how they were suddenly plucking out weapons and doning on armors like it was nothing. Daimos knew something about this dimension was not right.
And to prove it, those men that were killed by Thusixla's water cannons came back to life in a very starnge way. Some green ring of light appeared around them and they just disappeared and came back standing with new robes on their person like nothing never happened.
"This is going to be a long day" Daimos muttered as used his mist ability to create formless spears that impaled the white robed men, some dodged, others blocked, some were not lucky and died.
In the priestesses office.
Luke was looking at the holographic like screen and was a bit shocked, besides the fact that the mighty cleansing halls wal that could withstand a meteor starike was now a pile of rubble. He was also surprised that the temples Judgement army were this formidable and undying.
"Are these the summoned heroes that joined the temple?" He asked the priestess.
When they summoned these heroes, some of them usually fight for the temple for some days or months and would then leave the army to wander the world. The story about the heroes disappearing after killing a demon pillar or general was a lie that they usually told those races that were mistakenly summoned.
Some of the heroes would choose to still stay with the temple and help them fight some of the battles with the other kingdoms ruled by the beastkin, eves and the likes. These heroes were also very intriguing, as they could revive themselves after dying, and they also had the element of space.
"Yes". The priestess answered a bit annoyed. 'These so called heroes are weaker than i thought... is it because they have not been hunting enough monsters for that thing, was it again... EP?'. Of course the priestess had heard some strnge terms from these heroes, like NPC's, and rankings. The way they also addressed themselves was also strange. Names like ballsdeep_223, unchangingclouds, YoMA-ma and the likes was really strange for her. Another thing was how they could learn elemental spell so easily, Luke took four years to master the flash of light spell, only for one of these heroes to come and learn it in instance, tho their control and power output was low, it was still very surprising.
On the holographic screen, the priestess and Luke wayched the fight between Daimos and judgement army.
Daimos just kept hurling mist spears upon mist spears against the undying army, whiles Thusxila had already gone bored of the fight. Why?
They were too weak, and the fact that they kept respawnig like game characters was also taking away the fun of things.
Meanwhile, Daimos was lookinig at these undying men through Likyl's eyes and was shocked.
'They have no souls.'
Yes, normally, beings would have jellyfish like entities in their body, mainly their heads that would spread it's tentacles all over the body, or container. The souls in his dimension looked like blobs of light floating.
But these guys had nothing like that, of course Daimos cannot say that he could recognize a soul if he saw one, but these guys did not have anything in them, like they were puppets or zombies being controlled by someone. 'If these guys can literally do what every character in a game can do, does this mean that we are inside a game?'.
Daimos could not help but shiver, if they were inside a game, then these guys must be seeing him like some mini boss or some powerful NPC and a walking bag of experience points.
Daimos instantly felt rage swell inside him like a volcanoe. He the preorginator and prince of a whole race was turned into a mere NPC and walking bag of experience for someone to come and kill to level up. Maybe this is how those NPC's in games felt?.
Daimos looked through Likyl's eyes and saw these empty vessels and realised that trying to kill them was a waste of time.
