Chapter 17 - 17 Turning Your Cry into a Smile

"I have to show this to Ken," thought Lidya who immediately took Clara's cell phone to find Ken.

"Sister Lidya. That's my cell phone." Clara chased after Lidya.

"Yes. I borrowed it first." Lidya kept running to find Ken. Clara and Yuni followed Lidya's fast pace who was already heading towards the elevator.

Lidya took her cellphone to call Ken while waiting for the elevator doors to open. A few moments later, Ken's voice was heard on the other end of the line. "Where are you? You're on the floor."

"I work on the second floor. Near the meeting room."

"Okay. I'll be right there. You wait there." At this moment, the elevator doors opened so Lidya immediately entered the elevator to be followed by Clara and Yuni.

Once inside the elevator, Lidya pressed button 2 so that the elevator doors closed and the elevator went straight down to the second floor of the office.

While in the elevator, Clara and Yuni could only remain silent when they saw Lidya's anxiety. They both chose not to say anything and chose to lean against the elevator wall while watching Lidya's anxious movements in front of the elevator door.

As soon as the elevator doors opened on the second floor, Lidya anxiously moved towards the meeting room. Actually, Lidya had been anxious since last night because she was thinking about Ken who had to face 4 people at once in the battle this afternoon.

Now, after Lidya saw the video on YouTube that showed Ardy's prowess in defeating his opponents and saw Ardy's ferocity in making his opponents helpless, this made Lidya super worried and not very worried anymore.

Lidya knew that Ardy really liked her and that had been repeated by Ardy for a long time, since before Ardy went to America. That's why Lidya knew that Ardy was very jealous of Ken and would definitely make Ken feel like hell when Ardy faced Ken later.

Therefore, Lidya was very worried about Ken. Right now, she wanted to show Ken the video of Ardy's kaganasanasan and she had a solution so that Ken wouldn't have to participate in the fight at noon.

Lidya found Ken mopping with Lukman beside Ken, so Lidya immediately approached Ken.

"What's wrong?" asked Ken when he saw Lidya approaching him.

Meanwhile, Lukman, who had been persuading Ken to cancel the fight with Ardy and friends despite the threat of being fired from the company, was now turning his attention to Clara.

Actually before, Lukman did not have the courage to approach Clara, but, when he saw Ken's success in approaching Lidya, then, Lukman began to have the courage to try to approach Clara.

Lidya approached Ken, showed him Clara's cell phone, played back the video of Ardy's fight in America and said, "Look. Ardy's enemy is huge. Muscular again. But, she defeated him. He's terrible, Ken. Moreover, you have to face Ardy with some of his friends. Why are you so rash, Ken?"

"How rash?" asked Ken as he watched the video of Ardy's fight.

"You rashly challenged Ardy, Ken. And even crazier, you challenged Ardy and his three friends. This is very dangerous for you, Ken." Lidya looked at Ken soulfully.

"It's already happened, Lidya. Just pray that I don't get hurt, okay?" Ken felt happy again because he saw the worry on Lidya's face.

"Why are you smiling?" protested Lidya.

"I like seeing you worry about me like this. Because it means you love me as much as I love you." Ken looked deeply into Lidya's face.

"Of course I'm worried about you. You're about to get into a fight you can't win, Ken. You'd better get out of here."

"Leave?"

"Yes, Ken. So that you're safe. Huhuhu. I don't want to see you in the hospital. I don't want to see you get hurt. Huhuhu."

"I'll be careful, Lidya. Don't worry. After all, I promised to leave you if I lose the fight." Ken looked deeply at Lidya. "And I can't afford to lose you."

"I can't afford to lose you either. Huhuhu. Why do you have such courage? Huhuhu." Lidya covered her face with both hands.

Meanwhile, Clara had taken her cell phone from Ken's hand.

Ken himself was still stunned to see Lidya crying like this. Ken tried to comfort Lidya. "Never mind. I'll be careful, Lidya."

"If you want to ride a motorcycle or if you want to participate in a motorcycle race, you can say it like this, but this ... huhuhu. You're going to get beaten up by four people, Ken. Wake up, Ken. You better run, Ken."

"I won't run. Only a cowardly man would run away. Besides, if I run, I won't be able to see you again and I can't," said Ken.

Lidya could only drag her feet at Ken's stubbornness. "Okay. Then, I'll accompany you to the fight."

"Don't, Sister Lidya. You're a girl," prevented Yuni.

"You just help her," Clara said to Lukman. "He's your friend." Clara pointed at Ken.

Lukman, who wanted to impress Clara, patted his chest. "Don't be afraid, Ken. I'll help you."

"No. This is my fight. I've agreed with them that I'll fight them alone. So, let me face them alone," Ken insisted.

Lukman breathed a sigh of relief as he realized that facing just one of Alex, Haras and Heri, he wouldn't necessarily win. Especially if he had to deal with two of the three, while he was helping Ken.

Lukman had agreed to Clara's request earlier because he didn't want to be considered a coward by Clara, the girl he was eyeing, but, after Ken refused to interfere in Ken's fight, Lukman became relieved.

For Lukman, it was better for him to help Ken materially than to help Ken fight. Therefore, Lukman was very relieved to get the rejection from Ken.

Lidya slammed her foot again when she saw Ken's stubbornness. Yuni, who had just gotten a call, immediately whispered to Lidya to tell her that Lidya's boss asked Lidya to return to her room.

Lidya nodded weakly. She looked at Ken. "Ugh... this might be the last time I see his handsome face unscathed. Maybe tomorrow this handsome face will be full of wounds. Or... maybe I'll only find this face in the hospital. Huhuhu," Lidya thought, crying for Ken again.

Lidya finally turned her body around and languidly left this place with her two friends.

Lukman still had time to look at Clara soulfully but, Clara immediately looked away.

Ken looked at Lidya's departure and said to himself. "Thank you for your love, Lidya. I promise, in a little while, I will turn your tears into smiles."
