I can see the running theme throughout, it resembles theaters of old. I can almost visualize myself outside at a coliseum.
Standing near the near center back of the stage, Patricia leans down and pushes down on the wooden stage pushing wooden squares in a complicated elaborate pattern.
I hear quick whoosh sound as a part of the floor goes down only for an alter to slowly rise up in it's place. In the center of the alter sits a huge black color like onyx crystal sphere.
"Come on over, don't be shy." Patricia says to me moving her fingers in a back-and-forth motion.
Resisting the urge to roll my eyes I move towards the bane of my existence. Once a year my grandfather Calvin would take me to a private testing room at the government building in front of the whole family to be tested. I wasn't the only one being tested but but i was the only one who didn't have any magic.
He likes to test everyone to see if anyone has gained a new power. Let's just say for me it was very embarrassing having everyone be reminded that I was a non-supe.
Even though I've now come into power and have seen that I actually have powers, a part of me still thinks that the power stone will not react and remain onyx black.
Taking a deep breath to steady my jittery nerves I take the last step towards the power stone.
Now standing before the power stone I glance up at Patricia and aunt Amanda's expectant gazes, I put my hand on the cold orb.
At first nothing happens then I feel this sucking sensation and watch right before my eye the orb glow.
I see sapphire blue, platinum silver, soft yellow, bright orange, navy blue, metal gray, and brass gold.
Each of the colors displaying for five seconds except for the last three colors lasting a total of eight seconds.
Once the orb goes back to black and doesn't glow anymore I am shocked, like the results cannot be true.
"Wow!" Looking at me with wide eyes both of them just stare for a couple of seconds.
Recovering her exposure. "These results are very impressive for someone whose just come into power." Smiling very brightly at me, she continues, " You have a bright future ahead of you. To be expected coming from a Gold."
"Aunt Amanda? " I question. " You haven't said anything."
Closing her mouth and blinking a couple of times a look of serious contemplation crosses her delicate features.
"I'm sorry, I just wasn't expecting some of your powers to be at level eight. Level five is normal for a Gold but having four powers at level five and three at that is just a little bit shocking."
"Only Michael, Tobias, and your mother could produce results like these. Of course, your cousin's Mike, Alex and Sabrina as well. But you've surpassed Sabrina and are in league with Mike and Alex."
"Even though Alex doesn't like to show off like Mike does they are both equal in power." Aunt Amanda says with a small smile on her face.
Still looking a little shocked, she looks at me with watery eyes. "It's just that you remind me so much of Charlotte in this moment." She said pulling me into a soft and crushing hug. Her tears falling on my cheek.
Throat feeling a little tight I blink back my tears as she let's me go and try to look anywhere but at her as she wipes her face.
I stare at the screen on the altar beside the power stone with my results plain to see in black bold lettering.
Sapphire blue - Water element level 5
Platinum silver - Ice element level 5
Soft yellow - Air element level five
Bright orange- Nephlium bloodline level 5
Navy blue - Telekinesis level 8
Metal Gray - Leopard seal form level 8
Brass gold - Lion form level 8
Digging around in her purse aunt Amanda pulls out her neofly and hands it to me. "Will you go and get breakfast? Oh, Patricia did you want anything?"
Shaking her head Patricia says, "No, I'm fine. I still have a yogurt and a ham and cheese croissant back in the office."
"You know what I like just meet us back in Patricia's office." Aunt Amanda said. "Okay." I reply as i walk out if the auditorium.
I walk to the nearest coffee shop on campus. Waiting in a too long line I order coffee and food, then head back to the office.
Watching my aunt Amanda and the Dean of DMU get buzzed in the middle of the day has been fun. But when Kelly texts me asking to go shopping I immediately say yes, asking her to come and pick me up.
Twenty minutes later, I say goodbye to Dean Breene and auntAmanda.
Walking towards a green skimmer I notice two black diagonal stripes painted on the rear side of her skimmer. Getting in I look at Kelley's shoulder length brown straight hair, tanned brown skin, and big caramel eyes.
"The stripes are new. When did you get those done?" I ask her as we start to leave campus. "I didn't. Nikki did on Friday when I let her borrow my skimmer after her parents grounded her by taking away her skid." I look at her like she's crazy which she clearly is for letting Nikki borrow her skimmer. "Are you crazy?! She probably borrowed it for a race and made who knows how many illegal upgrades." Biting her lip she anxiously says, "I know, but she said she'll cover for me anytime I want to sleep over at Stan's."
Eyes widening I look at her with a question mark on my face. "Stan? As in ass****Stan who beat up Rory, Ace's little brother Stan?"
