Drew handled the wheels as he appreciated the views of the city.
After meeting up with Hugo's family, he couldn't help but develop some curiosity.
Were deviants the only super powered beings?
According to what he knew, Developing a Rcx cell wasn't based on luck or resource alone, but hereditary.
To be a Deviant, one of your ancestors must have been one too. But according to Hugo, his ancestral line was made up of pretty regular people.
Drew sighed. He was starting to have an headache.
Just at that moment, his phone rang.
"Mr. Callahan?" Drew smiled wryly at his phone screen.
He felt kind of guilty that he hadn't paid the old man a visit even after promising to do so.
"Hello Mr. Callahan"
"Drew. Didn't you say we are no strangers? why the formalities?" an old voice guawffed from the other end.
"I forgot myself Uncle Callahan. Is there a problem at your side?"
"Well, sort of.." Mr. Callahan trailed off. He was obviously hesitating.
"Mr. Henicky is hosting his birthday next week. I was hoping you could accompany Charlotte. Many big shots will be attending, so it's kind of a way to sharpen your scope of influence"
"Sure" although Drew tried to sound calm, he could barely hold it.
Mr. Henicky was Delta city's mayor. He was both a government official and business socialite.
Even the Patriarchs of the top families in Delta city had to tread with caution in his presence.
The only reason why Drew knew such a man was through the several tv shows he usually watched, lauding Mr. Henicky for his philanthropic acts.
Drew could hardly contain the excitement that he would be meeting such a legendary figure.
"Okay. You must be quite busy right?"
"Do you need my help in anything?"
"I was thinking of a dinner arrangement. Though that depends on your schedule" Mr. Callahan quickly explained.
"I just happen to be chanced by tomorrow evening"
"Alright!"
Drew smiled. How could he be oblivious to the huge respect Mr. Callahan, one of Delta city's bigshots was giving him?!
Ah! Having money came with a lot of advantages.
"You seem to be so respectful. I am curious as to who it is actually" a lean man with a goatee smiled shortly after Mr. Callahan hung up.
If the press were at the scene, they would instantly recognize him as the General Manager of Benzo Bank, the most largest in Delta city.
His name was Malcom X. As for what family he came from, it was a huge and deep mystery. He arrived at Delta City five years ago, managing to sire a huge organization such as Benzo banks.
Just how much money was needed to achieve such a feat?!
This made Malcom a dangerous existence in the eyes of Delta city's top families.
"Mr. Malcom is extremely sharp. I was speaking with an amazing medicine prodigy" a smile got plastered across Mr. Callahan's lips.
"So it is the third young master of the Wayne family" Malcom X became disinterested.
"Mr. Malcom seems to have guessed wrong"
"Oh?"
Mr. Callahan proceeded to recount how Drew cured him. Although he didn't try to exaggerate, he could barely conceal his admiration.
"So, what do you think?" he asked.
"I would like to meet him myself for clarification"
Theo arrived at his manor. To his bewilderment, Boss Jay wasn't"t back yet
However, Drew didn't put much thoughts into this.
At that moment, his phone rang. The caller was a private one.
"Am i speaking with Mr. Drew?" a gruffy voice boomed.
"Uhm, do i know you? how in the hell did you get my digits?" Drew questioned.
"This is not the right time to explain, can you meet me up at Blackwood coffee shop shop?"
Saying that, the caller hung up. Drew felt dissatisfied. You want a meeting with me, it should be me acting so snobbish and not the other way round!
However, Drew never for once feared it was a trap. He was extremely confident in his strength.
Francis clenched his fist, uncomfortably jugging down a mug of tea.
"Why is he not here yet?" he mumbled, wiping off some beads of sweat on his forehead.
Just at that moment, Drew walked into the coffee shop. Francis swiftly beckoned him over.
"You were the one who called?"
"My name is Francis. I was Mandigo's close confidant"
Drew's expression turned frosty.
"So you lured me here to beat me up and get revenge on your late gang leader?" he snickerd,
"No. No. I wanted to see you for another matter. Actually, i killed all of Mandigo's family" Collins confessed.
Drew was surprised.
"Actually, i never wanted to work for Mandigo. My family once owed him money and couldn't pay up. He threatened to kill my family to the very last if i didn't agree to work for him"
"Through out my service, i loathed him secretly. However after you dealt with him, i found the courage to have my revenge"
Drew coughed lightly.
"I don't really get why you are telling me all this. I am not a therapist nor a counselor"
"Plus, why should i trust your words and take you under my wings? what if you betray me too huh?"
Unwilling to continue the conversation, Drew stood up and left. He hated three types of people..
Jerks
Materialistic girls
Snitches.
Francis eyes blazed angrily when he saw Drew walking out on him.
"Bastard!" he cussed underneath his breath.
In actuality, the reason why he wanted to be on Drew's side was because he recently made a discovery.
Mandigo had a powerful backing. His elder brother was a core member of the Layton Mafia family. It was one of the most powerful mafia families in the state.
This was an existence that Francis didn't dare go against. Afraid that the secret of his murder would leak out, he wanted to find a powerful backer for his protection. Since Drew could deal with Mandigo, he had to have a powerful force behind him.
But now, Drew showed no interest in taking him in.
Francis sat at the same spot for a long time, brainstorming his next course of action.
Suddenly, his eyes flashed coldly as he made a decision.
"Whoa Drew! is this really your house?" Victoria's eyes gleamed with astonishment at the huge mansion before her.
Drew finally got in touch with Boss Jay and had him bring everybody over.
"This mansion must cost tens of millions. Isn't it too wasteful?" Amelia frowned.
"Yes she's right. This house is like a palace. It would be too big for the four of us!" realization finally dawned on Victoria.
"Four of us? what about Diego?" Drew sensed the hidden meaning in his mother's words.
"He called that he managed to sign a record deal. His label has provided accomodation for him"
"That's nice!" Drew beamed. He felt happy from the bottom of his heart.
"Jay, pack their stuffs into their respective rooms. I will show them around"
"Okay grand Patriarch" Boss Jay began off loading the luggages from the booth.
Elon smoke from the fat blunt trapped in between his fingers, while his arms were snaked around the waist of two stripper girls.
He was currently at a strip club, having the time of his life.
Just then, one of his subordinates barged in. Surprisingly, Elon didn't lose his cool.
"Did anything happen?" he knew his subordinates didn't have the courage to interrupt his sensual moments for no reason.
Something major must have happened.
"Yes. One of the boys recieved news that your brother was killed" the subordinate reported.
