"Ah, let's get this over with," I said with a devilish smile to my opponent, "we don't want to keep everyone waiting now, do we? I asked as I dashed forward to launch my attack.
"Don't get cocky you fool, I'm also a peak Advance stage cultivator and I'm among the top 10 strongest cultivators in the outer academy," he boasted.
"Wait, there's a ranking for students in the outer academy?" I asked.
"Are your brain cells dead or are you even a student?" he asked, "The ranking is really popular, that's how students from the main academy gets to know the strongest students from the outer academy or those who will most likely make it into the main academy in the annual tournament."
"How did the academy not add my name to the list?" I asked no one in particular.
"I should probably forget about the outer academy ranking," I muttered, "I won't be needing it anymore since I'll be moving to the main academy after this. Hey fatty, I'm in a bad mood so beg me and I might make you walk out of here unscathed."
"Haha, trying to scare me," the boy laughed, "and stop thinking about winning, I bet you can't even handle those on the outer academy top 10 most powerful so the fact that you're going to be the third participant to be eliminated is already a blessing for you."
"It doesn't matter if you listen to me or not when I can make you do it anyway," I said, "and as for being on the top ten most powerful in the outer academy, I don't want it because I'll be the strongest in the main academy."
~ "This boy is really interesting, he dared to challenge those from the main academy, he must have a metal gut," the man said before continuing, "besides, how did you come across him?"
"Just say fate brought us together," she replied, "also that girl, Rain, I believe she is the same as Kai so should we introduce ourselves to them after the tournament?"
"Don't," the man replied firmly, "although I can sense the are one of us, I'm not a 100 percent sure that they are so not telling them anything will be the best course of action for all of us involved."
"Also watch out for the other races as well, if they find out the both of them our kind then they will try to kill them so, I'm putting the responsibility of protecting them in your hands," the man continued, "but, don't let either of them find out they are being protected, I want to see how far they will grow."
"Alright, I'll do as you say," she said as she glanced at Kai.
~ "Earth spikes," the boy yelled as dozens of earth spikes were shot to me.
Although defeating people like him shouldn't have taken too much of my time, it still did and that was because he was an earth element ability user. Even though most people didn't stick to one elemental ability, some still did and although it reduced some of their strength, it was still beneficial since they would posses more knowledge about that element abilities and the best way to use it in multiple situation.
"Tsk, you lucky bastard," I said as I dodged another earth spike,.
"Just be glad I didn't use my vampire form to fight you else, you'll have been extinct by now," I snorted inwardly.
"What's wrong loser? Weren't you saying you'll become the top student in the main academy a while back so why aren't you fighting back or don't tell me you were just bluffing?" he taunted.
"Seems like I have no other choice," I muttered with a sigh as I brought out my daggers.
I had originally planned to finish him off with my fist but since he had a really sturdy defense with an annoying voice, I had to since his earth armor was strong to the point that my attacks could do little or nothing to it except if I used my vampire form or a weapon.
"Since you're so eager to get beat up, I'll beat you up so badly that you'll never want to make it to the main academy," I said as I took my battle stance.
"All you know how to do is brag, can't you just- *coughs*," he coughed out a mouthful of blood.
"How did you do that?" he asked, "don't tell me you're another hidden monster?" He asked as he shivered.
After spending some months killing soul beasts and training in the soul beasts mountain range, I had already gotten better at attacking people vital organs before they even realized I had hit them and knew how to control my strength so I won't kill them with a single blow so I had great control over my abilities.
However, there was one ability that had a limitless potential and that was Flash Steps. Even though Flash Steps seemed to be another regular ability, it wasn't and despite the fact that I had come up with new ways of using it, I could't use those new methods since I had no human target to practice it on.
But since someone was willing to offer himself to me, I decide to test out the new move I created, 'Flash Bond'.
Flash Bond is simply the combination of Flash Steps and Blood bond and although it didn't seem to be really powerful, it actually is since I was going to be using my abilities plus your abilities with my improved speed. Now all I had to do was find a way to get a bit of his blood without alerting anyone.
"Alright loser, since you said I only knew how to to brag, let me show you a bit of my abilities then," I said as I stealthily put a drop of his blood from the floor into my mouth.

"Earth spikes," I shouted as I used one of his own abilities against him.
"How is this possible, I could clearly feel you practiced multiple elements but not the earth element," he said as he glanced at me, "don't tell me you have an ability that allows you to copy other people abilities"
"Seems like this tournament is really a blessing in disguise," he muttered, "hand over the ability book and I still beat you half to death, don't hand it over then I'll be at you an inch away from death and still get the ability book."
"Why don't you understand," I sighed, "there's no way you can defeat me at least not in this lifetime or the next ones to come," I said as I threw one of my daggers into the air.
"You're really stupid huh," he said with his face twitching, "just because you have an ability that allows you to copy other people doesn't mean you're special-"
*Boom*, a huge energy wave burst out through the entire battle arena.
"Hey block head, I forgot to warn you, never ignore your opponent weapons," I said as I pointed at the earth drill that was as huge as a small hill defending at a crazy speed.
"What the hell," he muttered, "please stop this, I'll give you whatever you want," he pleaded.

After throwing my weapon into the air, I began to form as much earth as I could to form a maga destructive drill and since it was a risky move since I had never used this move before and it will empty my mana reserve, I still decided to use it to show my strength besides, no Advance stage cultivator could possibly stop an attack of that scale.
*Crack*, *Boom*, the mountain drill suddenly burst apart as my daggers fell next to me.
"How is that possib- wait, aren't you the lady who did the registration of the students who wanted to participate in the tournament, how did you even stop that?" I asked with shock.
"Stop asking too many questions and congratulations on winning this round, you qualify for the next stage of the competition," her voice echoed throughout the entire battle arena.
