Chapter 70 - Chapter 70 The World's Changing.

For months Lili had been within her dream world and It is now December, temperatures had plummeted down to just under zero and it had begun to snow. Already the ground was covered by a light blanket of white making the town of Plön look quite magical to Lilis eyes. However the lakes around the town had yet to freeze and Lili feared that they probably wouldn't as here the cold didn't usually last all that long.

Nonetheless Lili dressed in a large fur coat was enjoying the scenery as she sat in a big chair on the back porch of the manor. Her legs were elegantly crossed like a proper lady as she held a newspaper in hand and occasionally took little sips out of her tea cup.

And as she sat there in peace everyone else was working hard. With the motto of work hard, study well and eat and sleep plenty, they all trained like beasts especially the Kaiser and his three oldest sons.

Willy, Albert and Eitel all wore 10 kilogram weighted bags on their backs as they ran hundreds of laps around the manors backyard while wearing nothing but pants, they didn't even wear shoes. And as for the Kaiser, well the man was carrying 60 kilograms of extra weight, one bag on his back, one in front and extra weights tied to his legs and arms.

Heinrich, Irene and Waldemar on the other hand were at the sandy lakeside. From where she sat Lili couldn't see them, but apparently Heinrich had started practicing swimming in cold water to help him get closer to the element of water that he held within himself. Waldemar bravely was practicing like this as well which had apparently already brought out great results, or well it had mainly only brought results in the terms that they were both now quite resistant to the cold. It seemed that their innate magic within themselves was water based and seemed to give them slight resistance to the cold, it was also getting stronger and stronger over time although no true magic had yet to be done. Irene was there as well now under Lilis guidance having learned to use her minor healing spells, although for now it merely brought out some warmth, comfort and a slight feeling of healing upon its target.

Other than that the royal guards were using the outdoor gym to train their bodies while also looking after the three young princes who tried to imitate their movements.

Also under Lilis guidance she had made the maids of the manor start working out as well. However the maids mostly only worked on doing body weight exercises and yoga, the Baumers along with little two year old Mila was there as well.

With this Lili hoped to make everyone within the manor strong and flexible so that once she began to teach them all martial arts they could learn the moves quicker, as they could then actually do the moves to begin with.

And as for the Queen of Germany, Augusta, she simply sat there next to Lili taking it easy. By now the Queen was already a few months pregnant and preferred to eat and rest while holding her hands protectively over her growing belly.

Lili though was not feeling too good. It hadn't even been that long since she had awoken from her slumber and now on the first day of December she was struck by her period. Which made her feel weak, her stomach was aching, she was bleeding which wasn't cool, her chest felt tender, she was quite sleepy and suffering from sporadic mood swings at random occasions.

At one point she would be fawning over the sight of the little princes trying to do push ups and little Mila doing yoga, but then right after she would go back to being grumpy. She especially didn't like how Willy was constantly trying to show off his strength to her as was his brother Eitel, even seven year old Prince Albert suddenly noticing her gaze went into a push-up position and tried to show off. The three Princes had suddenly started competing for her attention and it was just so, so so strange to her.

Lili trying to ignore the boys instead turned her attention to the newspaper that she had collected and the one within her hands. There she searched for the major possible events she might have missed over the past months.

For instance on the 27th of August France and Russia had formed a defensive alliance, this meaning that the alliance between Germany, Austria-Hungary and Russia was no more.

Looking backwards in history Lili could see that Austria-Hungary and Russia had for a while now been at each others throats over the question of who the Balkans belonged to. Both nations wanted to be the rulers of the Slavic people and especially wanted the holy city of Constantinople to themselves.

However thanks to Paul Von Hindenburg's work as the chancellor of Germany he had managed to keep some form of peace between the two. But now that he was not the chancellor anymore after the Kaiser had dismissed him a year before. And so Kaiser Wilhelm the second had then simply decided to pick the side of Austria-Hungary in this question of national interests and so the alliance of the three nations was no more.

However Lili couldn't really blame the Kaiser for this as it was going to happen sooner or later and Austria-Hungary was more trustworthy than Russia. In Austria-Hungary there were at least Germans living there and the ruling family was German as well, so the choice made sense even if Germany had some years prior to this fought against Austria-Hungary.

And now with this it seemed that the first seeds for the first world war were planted, conflict was inevitable it seemed. After all Russian ambitions would not be satisfied until they took that what they desired.

Also the control over the Balkans and especially Constantinople was vital for the Russin interest's as it would give them greater access to the world markets. Right now Russian trade ships needed to pay a fee to the Ottomans each time they passed the Bosporus strait, plus if the Ottomans and Russia ever went to war again the Russians would be locked into the black sea thanks to this one city, so the city not only had great Religious value, but monetary value as well.

This all though did make Lili wonder about how this situation could be solved for good? How could she possibly stop nations from fighting for that city or any other city around the world? Could she stop wars from overall happening on earth and finally bring peace to the world? Was it really even a true possibility or just a dream? Then again God told her to unite her people and he even gave her the means of doing that so it had to be possible, right?

Well in other news, on the 18th of September the Civil war in Chile had come to an end now. Apparently the deposed president ended himself in desperation which essentially marked the end of the war.

Then on the 29th of September a new major steel and coal Company named Thyssen was founded in Germany. And as one of the companies major shareholders owning fifty percent of its stocks is the Schmitt Company that to Lilis knowledge was secretly being funded by the royal family. This news of the two companies working together had in turn apparently sparked great optimism in the working class people of Germany hoping that these new coal mines and steel plants would be safer and overall better environments to work in. This Lili also hoped for and swore to make sure that it would be so.

Then on the 1st of October Bones of some suspected prehistoric man had been found in Indonesia. However archeology being as primitive here as it was Lili could hardly believe these claims to be the real thing.

Then on the 28th of October Japan suffered a major earthquake killing over seven thousand and injuring even more. And on the 11th of November Jindandao Rebels had apparently started massacring Chinese people in Mongolia. Tens of thousands of people were supposedly already dead and the Chinese government was now sending forces to take down this uprising.

And of course in North America there were the cowboys and Indians thing. The native peoples lands were slowly being taken over by the United States and the Wild west was still a thing, plus Mexico had its own problems like usual.

All in all Lili could surmise that the world was quite a bloody place in this time period and these major news headlines were not even taking into account all the violence that was happening around the world. Having spoken to the Kaiser she for instance knew that there were troubles in Africa, she had also heard bad things about south east Asia and south America seemed to be in chaos with the newly formed nations there trying to find stability after having separated from their original governments in Europe.

Well then again thinking of it now, all of this wasn't all that different from her first lives world. Even back then there was a lot of conflict and death all around and then there was the war, but before that it was at least somewhat more peaceful, maybe.

Then Queen Augusta suddenly spoke up in worry as she asked.

"You your Holiness I I, I don't mean to question your ways, but are you sure it is fine for my little ones to be training with the men like that? I mean Prince Joachim is just a year old, wa, what if something happens to him? What if my baby boy gets hurt and and..."

Raising her hand in annoyance Lili stopped the Queen from speaking as she then calmly reassured her by saying.

"Oh stop it, you have nothing to worry about after all I am here. If anything happens I will just heal them and it will be fine again. Besides these grounds are also blessed by my sacred stone of light. And as I see its good to feel some pain and go through a little hardship for that is how we learn best and grow strong."

Though she said this the Queen merely nodded hesitantly and said. "I understand." Clearly she didn't understand or believe her fully. So Lili gestured for the guard standing behind her to come to her.

And just as she ordered the tall German iGuard came to her side kneeling down as he did as he said.

"Yes you're holiness how may I serve?"

Looking at the man the large rifle in his hand Lili asked.

"Hans could you please give me your rifle for a moment and run past the gym at least 50 meters that way, I want to try something?"

Hans hesitated for a second but then offered the riffle to her Although he didn't let go of it as he said.

"Be careful you're holiness it's heavy and loaded."

Nodding her head Lili took a hold of the riffle, but as she did she immediately could feel the heavy weight of it. If it wasn't for Hans holding on to it she would have probably dropped the damn thing on the ground just then.

Realising this Lili asked Hans to set the rifle down on the porch as he then ran 50 meters to the distance, while she layed down taking aim at the man. Seeing this Augusta was confused as she asked.

"Lili what are you doing? Why are you aiming at him with that rifle?"

Soon all stopped what they were doing as Lili then loudly said.

"Be brave Hans for this will be your test of Endurance! Now brace your right leg!"

Hans stiffened in anticipation of what was going to come, but stood strong nonetheless as he saluted to her and yelled out loudly saying.

"Yes you're holiness!"

Then Lili pulled the bolt back, checked that there was a round in place there and indeed there was. Then as she pushed the bolt back she used her left arm for support as she lay there and took aim.

The riffle was what Lili believed to be the Gewehr 1888, a fairly good gun even in modern terms. In fact its a gun that would see use even in the late 1950s by the Chinese. Though it being a bolt action rifle with iron sights and such a old weapon did make the experience of holding it quite nostalgic to her.

Nonetheless she knew the basics of handling such a gun having been an American in the united states Navy in her first life. So seeing as how expertly and easily she handled the heavy thing it was no wonder that the soldiers all around were in awe at her.

Then with her sights set on Hansis right leg she slowly squeezed the trigger and then. "Bagn!" And as soon as the sound was heard Hans flinched in pain and took a hold of his hurting right leg.

The Queen and maids yelped in shock as the kids were in shock, the smallest of whom seemed confused not understanding what was going on. Setting down the gun Lili then immediately ran across the yard and to Hansis side to heal the man.

Luckily the bullet had went clean through and so Lili didn't need to worry about removing the bullet before healing up the man's wound.

Crouching next to Hans Lili could see the man merely smiling down at her as he happily asked.

"Did I do good your Holiness? Did I pass the test?"

Lili crouching in front of the tall man merely healed the man's wound in a few seconds time as she then looked up to him and showed a smile as she said.

"Yes you were fantastic Hans, you're definitely worthy of being called my personal guard. And now you're officially a man Forged in fire, technically, hihihi, good job Hans."

After that the young Princes quickly gathered around the man curiously asking how getting shot felt. Willy even went as far as looking to Lili as he asked her to do him next.

"Oh oh, shoot me shoot me Lili, I'm strong. I can do it, I'm not afraid of anything."

Lili then quickly realised that she might have done something again that she shouldn't have. Like usual she had totally failed to take any time to actually think about what it was that she was doing and she just didn't.

Truly her periodic hormones were doing a number on her logical reasoning making her act so irrationally. Although within her previous life she had also suffered from herself acting without thinking like this.

She couldn't help it, she wanted to show the Queen that she could heal basically any injury and so she thought this to be a good idea. Well technically no real harm was done although no-one should ever shoot anyone without a good reason, which she most definitely didn't have. Oh what was she to do now to fix this?
