While the United Iberian army prepared to march to Granada the Prince of Andalusia negotiated with Xixi. Far across the western sea, 6 ships moved further and further west.
On board the ship Marino's wrath. A man was standing in the crows nest looking to the horizon frantically as he mumbled to himself. " Fuck. Fuck. Fuck. Where is that land? Come on land. Where are you. "
With his bare eyes, he searched for land and cursed. " Why didn't I use more time on my Inventions? How am I supposed to see anything without a telescope? "
Indeed the telescope was not invented yet, so sailors had to use their bare eyes to spot targets. In Marino's original world, the telescope was invented in the 16th century.
Not seeing anything but the blue ocean, Marino despaired as he thought back to what had happened.
Over 3 weeks ago they had set sail and the trip had been quite uneventful, until one day late at night he had woken up to some commotion on the deck.
Quickly he ran outside in his pajamas to see what was going on, only to see it. A few kilometers in front of their 6 ships, in the pitch darkness of night, stood a massive serpent. Only the outline of its scaly head could be seen, going up for hundreds of meters. And there in the distance, it's yellow beating eyes watched them.
Marino had been completely stunned as were all the others. No stories had ever mentioned such a beast before. Quickly coming to his senses he had ordered all lights to be put out. Following his orders the ships quickly faded into darkness.
Seeing the lights go out, the creature quickly lost interest and sank back into the depths. From then on they had to sail in the darkness without lights.
Luckily for them, they had a silver-haired girl called Envy. She is a short pale-skinned, flat-chested, girl with a beautiful face and red crimson eyes. However, this is hard to see as she likes to cover herself up a lot. Usually, you can only see her red eyes under her hood and helmet.
She preferred to stay in the shade and never sleep during the night, as her eyes have the special ability to see in the dark. So thanks to her they could navigate through the night. Otherwise without her Marino would have had to do it, with his yellow night vision eyes.
Thinking about the big serpent creature sent chills up Marino's spine. He didn't know why but he had a fear of drowning to death. He didn't fear the water just dying in it. He eagerly wanted to get back on land and fast. His dreams of conquering the new world already seemed in tempting to him. Hi didn't want to spend any more time on the sea than he had to.
During their travels, other signs of massive sea monsters could be seen. One day under their navy they had seen a city sized shadow move, luckily it wasn't interested in them. Also massive splash is of water could sometimes be seen in the distance. They were like the ones you could sometimes see in a lake, when fish fought and hunted eachother. But this splashes were the massive the size on tall castle's and hills. They created massive waves that threatened to capsize them.
Thinking about this Marino climbed down from the crow's nest, only to have water droplets fly in his face immediately. Wiping away the water from his face he looked to the culprit, frowning.
Around their small navy were dozens of gliding Delphine's. They were 3 times larger than any Delphines he had ever seen before. They also had massive fins that helped them fly for a short moment above the ocean.
The dolphins had been very helpful during their journey. They had been following them for days now. Whenever the wind stopped, the dolphins would ataeört pushing them forward. Even now they broke the waves In front of them and also pushed the ships forward from the back.
While this was appreciated, Marino did not like the fact that this world, clearly wasn't the same as where he came from. So he could not predict what was to come. All he could do Was try his best.
Walking towards his cabin he could see sloths massive bodybuilder figure sleeping on the deck, enjoying the sun. While Gluttony on the other hand just started at the dolphins hungrily as drool fell from his open mouth. Luckily Gluttony was good at listening to simple orders and would not harm the dolphins without his command. Marino definitely didn't want to start a war with the dolphins.
Walking inside his cabin he started to study the crude map of the Americas he had drawn. There he would sit for hours trying to remember the maps from his past life. But as time went on his memories of his other life had started to fade and he feared that soon only Marino would remain.
In frustration, he hit his head on his wooden work desk, as he was not able to remember what his former homeland looked like exactly. Not that he even back then really knew the geography of America. It was not something he took an interest in.
If only I could just remember it clearly. Why can't I just have a system or the internet with me like in those stories? Marino thought to himself.
That's when it hit him and he remembered. There was once a time when his memories were clear and thanks to that he got his yellow eyes.
Then he felt a stinging pain in his head and the answer became clear to him. If he wanted power, then he would have to sacrifice something or someone to gain it.
Sweat started to run down his face and his hands trembled. Memories of the chicken house massacre came back to him. Those dark but sweet memories, yes he remembered the feeling of power clearly. The feeling of taking lives, the rush of adrenaline, yes. Back then he felt like a god, for who else but God can take and give life? Those people's lives were in his hands and that made him feel powerful. Lara's life he spared and through her he had sowed the seeds of life, just like a god. Marino smiled evilly thinking of this. No more would he have to fear that serpent or fear death. As long as he got enough power he would not have to fear anything anymore. And to do so, all he had to do was sacrifice those natives for his future unlimited power.
Thinking of this he started to do push-ups, with each rep he said. " Power, Power, power ,power, power! "
Back at the ship's deck, the men were having a nice time. While some manned the sails, others were cleaning. And when that was done they just relaxed, played some cards and enjoyed the sun.
On the ship Bloody Envy, the captain called Envy was feeding her caged rats in her dark cabin room. Her glowing crimson-red eyes watched the rats closely. With her finger, she jumped from one rat to the other while saying. " I spy, with my two beautiful eyes a fleshy, Juicy, rat."
With a blurry motion too fast for a normal human to see she grabbed one of the rats. As it squealed like a rat, she dug two sharp fangs into the rats flesh, sucking it dry. Feeling the blood rush through her pale flesh, her eyes flashed bright red for a moment and then she let out a sinful moan of pleasure. After which she fed the rat to its comrades and went back under the bed to sleep.
Back on board the ship Marino's Wrath. Marino sweated as he did his push-ups, through gritted teeth he said. " 998, 999 and 1 thousand."
With a powerful push he jumped on his feet while yelling. " Yeah! Fuck yeah! But this is not enough. " With that said he took off his shirt and stormed outside on to the sunshine covered wooden deck of the ship.
Seeing their sweaty captain with a crazed bloodthirsty expression, the soldiers were shocked. Before they could react Marino charged at two men playing cards. With a swift side ways kick he broke one of the men's noses and sent him to the deck.
Shocked the other man tried to get up but he's collar was grabbed and Marino started punching at him crazily, while yelling. " Yeah! Take it! Feel my power! "
Quickly other men intervened and started to kick Marino's ass. But he didn't care, no, he enjoyed the pain and feeling of battle. " More, more! More! " He yelled as he fought back.
Seeing the captain being gagged upon, a man yelled. " Hey! No one-sided beat downs! Let's brawl! "
Hearing this words men charged into the center of the ship were Marino was being beaten and started a massive brawl. Just like in their training back home. They would beat eachother until one gave up or lost consciousness. Having seen the brawl start the other ship's crew's started their own. To them this was a affective method of training.
Looking at this scene the dolphins were intrigued, while Gluttony chewed on a bone and sloth slept uncaring of the brawl. Since they had not gotten a command to join then they would not do so.
And so the day's and week's went. On the open sea there was not much to do, but to fight, train and play around.
