Chapter 39 - A new weapon

In a grand workshop located in the city. Eula dragged me with her to find a good weapon. She suggested this place as this was the place where she got her Snow-Tombed Starsilver.

She reminds me to have a good weapon as it's very important. I didn't have much to say.

We were going on a dangerous mission. A good weapon is a must. However, Eula told me that this workshop has only 4-star weapons and below.

By the way, Her Snow-Tombed Starsilver is a 4-star Refined 5. Plus it's maxed level up. Which was level 90. It cost her an entire saving, around 50-60 million Mora. Upon hearing that, I was shocked.

"That's an exaggeration!" This is what I've said.

But her reactions were nonchalant as usual.

"Despite having it maxed, In the presence of My Song of Broken Pine such a sword is incomparable."

"Of course it is, that's a 5-star weapon. You even told me it's Refined 5, how can it compare to a 4-star weapon?" I remarked.

"Make sense... Nevertheless, Having a good weapon is just a start. The most important is to have a great set of Artifacts."

"Do you have artifacts?"

"I don't, Artifacts cannot be taken lightly." Eula shakes her head.

I tilted my head in confusion. Eula seemed to see me confused and answered me.

"Artifacts can only be integrated into one's body a single time. The act of integrating is the same as fusing one's soul. In the long sense, fusing Artifact will need careful consideration."

"What! This is the first time I heard of that. If I remember correctly, other appears able to change their artifact."

"The pleabs- I mean The Ignorants do not know the crucial matter when it comes to fusing artifacts. The act of removing artifacts in one's body is the same as tearing a part of one's soul. They are slowly killing themselves."

"I see. Thankfully, I did not do that."

"I'm very pleased to hear that. Tell me if there is anything you don't understand. I may not be as knowledgeable enough as that Witch but I have sufficient knowledge in my arsenal."

Speaking of Witch. Lisa who was with us earlier stormed off to a nearby bookstore. If I remember correctly, there should be something special happening in the bookstore.

Welp, it's Lisa. She's into that kind of book. To gain her attention, it should relate to that. Seductress.

"I will."

"Come, I'll get you a good weapon."

"I will pay."

"Didn't you forget, you gave your money to that girl? Oh yeah, speaking of that girl. What's your motive for her?"

"Uh- I forgot!" I knock myself on the head. I'm quite forgetful. "About her, well how should I say it? She's the light."

"Huh?" Eula raised an eyebrow. Not understanding what I meant.

"Honestly, I like her. She's the way to my path. By accompanying her on her journey, I will find my goal."

"Just that?"

"Yup, I will follow her to the End. If you want, you can follow us, you know."

"I have responsibility. If you can learn the teleportation. It would be great."

"Haah~ it's hard to convince you. You're quite a workaholic."

"Mm~ You could say that."

There should be many questions why would need to follow Lumine? Is it because I want to follow the plot?

One of the reasons.

I have a feeling that Lumine is the answer to why I got involved in this messed-up up world. Also, Why did I fall on her in the first place brought up so many questions.

"Hello there, Madam and Mister. What can I help you with?"

A clerk with a mustache approached us when we entered the workshop. His eyes glinted with greed. Typical merchant behavior, I say.

"We want the best claymore you have."

Before I could say anything. Eula ordered coldly.

"Yes, Madam. Please follow me."

On the way, I was looking around and found many sections of weapons ranging from swords, Bows, Catalyst, Polearm, Claymore, and other types of weapons.

The guide brought us to the Claymore section. There I saw various types of weapons that I've seen and never seen before.

It was quite a spectacle. My eyes flashed in surprise.

I looked around and found out that these weapons were superior to my Old Merc's pal. They were stylish and released an aura that screamed superiority.

Marveling its appearance, I approached and touched the body of the blade.

"Not bad."

"Naturally, they are 4-star for a reason."

"Oh, they are all 4-star. Wow."

"Pick anything you want. May it be appearance or not. These weapons are just temporary." Eula crossed her arms and looked at the weapons with disdain.

This girl. I can't help but chuckle inwardly. If I didn't know better I would have told her off. However in the game, if you want to deal high damage badly, 5-star weapons are needed.

4-star weapons are just substitutes.

"Why are you vehement about low-rank weapons?"

"It's not like I don't like them. These weapons are good in their way..." Eula pursed her lips at the end. She seems to be hiding something.

"Where can we find 5-star weapons though?"

"In Mondstadt there is a blacksmith who can forge 5-star weapons. However, it's very hard to meet that person, you need an appointment to be able to meet and it's not guaranteed they would accept. Furthermore, this blacksmith will not stay in one place, A nomadic individual, who knows how long they would come back."

"I see."

"What weapon do you like?"

"Hmmm," I look around and cannot seem to pick one as everything looks good. If not for the price I would've picked everything.

"Dear customer, This is the best claymore we have in stock."

The guide came back with two helpers behind him who were carrying a greatsword.

"This one is called Blackcliff Slasher; Max level, Refined 5. With a Base attack of 510 and 55% Crit damage. After defeating an opponent, ATK is increased by 24% for 30s. This effect has a maximum of 3 stacks, and the duration of each stack is independent of the others."

The Guide explained the properties of the weapon. My eyebrow raised. I took out my phone and searched for the information. It was the same.

Rubbing my chin. How strange.

"We'll take it."

"This weapon cost 60 million Mora in total."

"Okay, here it is."

Before I could say anything. Eula already purchased the weapon. She handed a card with a Favonius pattern.

"Oh! Please Excuse me, Madam. I didn't know you were a distinguished customer. With this card, you'll get a discount. This weapon will be 50 million Mora."

The guide took the card with both hands as he looked at Eula with reverence. Sighing, did I land myself on a Sugar mommy? I grab the weapon.

Just when I thought it was very light compared to my old one. I could feel its weight. Even with my level, it's heavy.

However, if I think this is heavy then why did two helpers can lift this? They don't look strong.

As if sensing my doubts.

"That sword case they are holding can nullify the weight of the weapon."

The guide told me.

After buying the weapon. Eula dragged me out to buy armor and stuff. The only feeling I had was that I was ashamed as a Man! How can I let a woman pay for my needs? Ahem! Joking around, I appreciate her.

Then I have to work hard to repay her. I'm not good at making money but I still excel in 'that'.
