Chapter 29 - Her Choice

⁜ Su Muyue POV

The two women performed the lunar energy breathing technique when the moon appeared in the sky and became sleepy shortly after using it.

Elena slept in the room beside Muyue and easily fell asleep as she could hear her snoring loudly a few minutes later. "stupid girl... you sound like a boar..!" Yet not long after, Muyue herself managed to sleep snoring just as badly.

However, where the dream normally took place from beside Seth, this dream was like watching from just behind him, able to look in a complete circle, but Su Muyue found herself hovering just behind him.

The dream started funny, his battle in the shop and mentioning games and novels that Muyue also played or knew about when a student.

'He fights so well... his muscles and posture are so sexy...' She thought.

While her ghostly self watched him leave with snacks and other things before placing them on his bike, she felt this time it was amusing... able to see another side of him and wanted to know more, so when there seemed to be a chance to wake up, she refused...

A choice she might grow to either regret... or celebrate.

Su Muyue felt anguished... and a painful feeling in her chest... Not long ago, she had ended the dream unable to see him in that state and what he was forced to face; in a sense, not just Seth, but she too underwent a grave change as she wore a simple survival suit and carried a small pistol that she managed to get thanks to her father's connections.

'I could wake Elena... No, she is a rival... and I know if she comes, He will only look at her...'

She liked Elena but felt conflicted sometimes after she began dreaming of secretly following Seth and noticed that he was always with her. So now... she would take a chance to have him for herself, even if only watching from afar.

The lunar and solar cultivation techniques would attract those who use the same style, but the opposite would slowly gravitate together... like a moon orbiting a planet or sun.

Su Muyue left in secret from the Luna Mansion side garage like the Aurora. She also had an underground parking lot with various cars and other items brought from her other homes. Today, she chose a red sports car with a very low floor and a sharp race car feel.

'Let's go...'

Thanks to the dream, she could easily make her way towards the forest road and path in her car, the roaring engine disturbing the forest as she rushed to find him... it was just after two when she left the mansion, so he should be somewhere close.

A small store with several broken cars and windows, and the double doors bent and torn open, came into her view as she began to feel a sense of fear grow, a seed which began to absorb all her positive thoughts while remembering the strange monsters that he fought in those images and dreams.

With a loud screech, she stopped the car and gazed at the scene ahead.

Her chest began to beat faster than she expected... a dark terror now like a hand grasping her heart as she grasped the small pistol and shakingly removed the safety before leaving the car with her blue eyes glimmering in the darkness.

"He's not here yet?"

Shuffling came from the forest as she snapped her gun to the left, a basic flashlight attached to the small black pistol giving her a weak cone of light, the cold air visible as it blew across the light...

Eerie sounds, strange animal calls sounded as she stepped forward... the sound of the grass crunching underfoot and something akin to heavy breathing...

Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang!

Although she had taken classes, she practised martial arts. Su Muyue was not like Elena, who was trained by her family all her life, even if she failed to join the military and chose the path of a bodyguard instead...

Muyue was inferior when it came to this moment.

'I'm scared...'

"They.... Are they dead?"

"Grrr...."

"Kya!?"

The zombie... was shot twice. Even though she shot four times, it was still fine, but another had been killed. She just didn't have the luxury of hearing the system's experience confirmation.

'No... it's coming... the blood is disgusting... die die!"

Bang! Bang! Bang!

Two bullets tore through the zombie's arms and neck, ricocheting and flung towards the dark forest while the final bullet landed in the centre of its forehead.

While this was happening, Su Muyue had no idea, but the more stressed and terrified she was, her eyes began to glow luminous blue, with a pale icy light growing more intense as she killed the zombie.

"Haa.....ha.....Haaa.... is it dead...? Ah... my bullets are already empty?"

Fumbling around in her waist bag, she pulled another clip while keeping the empty magazine and putting it in the left side of her bag... her shaking hands took quite some time while making a lot of noise, to reload... it seemed her heart and lungs were in a state of panic until the second clip was firmly loaded and cocked ready.

Like this, Su Muyue began to explore the forest around the small store; she wasn't brave but worried that Seth might be in trouble in his current state.

Setting an alarm for one hour, she headed into the darkness with a small torch and the moonlight as her only guide.

Time passed, and now she had killed roughly five zombies, but her ammunition was coming close to empty, and her alarm had long triggered, but the more she killed, fought and encountered them, the more Su Muyue began to grow as a warrior.

Her bright blue icy eyes no longer showed a deep fear, despite her heart racing and breath jerking during the fights...

She had learned something that took more than twenty chapters in this one evening because there was no main character to rely on, and she faced the undead because of her current confused feelings and the desire to comfort the man on the brink of breaking into her dreams.

Real or not...

It was what she desired to do.

As she slowly followed her path back, the howling wind no longer caused her body to tremble and jump, even the failing torch, which didn't have high-tech sunlight charging or a high-powered battery.

In honesty, she regretted leaving the ones she bought brand new at home because they killed them so easily in the dreams...

Su Muyue underestimated how terrifying these things were.

"I just want to find him and go back... If he sees me first, will it make him feel something towards me?"

If not for the strange golden light that shone through the trees, she may have lost her way; it was a beautiful flame-like torch that flickered in the sky and seemed to be a torch or street lamp of some kind...

It made her feel warmth and hope that even if the world were to end... maybe beautiful things might remain.

'Do I even want him to feel something...?'

'Maybe... Even now, I don't know well.' She had treated him so badly for many years and now began to regret it after seeing another side to him, feeling regret for pushing him away, believing him to be a pawn of her family, designed to take her power and assets away in the guise of marriage.

"But what are power and assets worth if these monsters take over the world?"

Finally, she arrived back at the store. It had been an hour, maybe only ten minutes, and she was just in a strange nightmare in that dark forest, fighting surreal monsters and even being bitten...

It was that moment... as the sun was rising and a male was sitting on the corner of the roof, his body glowing with a faint golden light as she left the dark, murky forest... following this light for so long...

"My guiding light... was you?"

Su Muyue began to rush towards the store... the side ladders on the opposite side were rusty, yet she stepped onto a dirty box... her clothes got caught and tore as she rushed to the roof... a feeling in her chest she wanted to get out now before it was too late and wanting to change their current relationship and direction.

'I had liked him from the start... even when he was a stupid fool... yet why did I throw tantrums or push him away?'

The actions she took in the past and the feelings she now felt a loose grasp on were distorted like she was a train on a set of rails that led her away from what she truly desired to do, but now... Those rails were gone!

However, when was life so sweet to you for nothing... As she approached his naked body, now standing and facing the sunlight. She watched him take out his phone and call someone...

"Hey... I feel so horrible and just wanted to hear your voice..."

His words caused a crack in her feelings... a dark and dirty feeling of wanting to ruin everything.

'I don't want to let you get away... don't speak to some other woman with such an affectionate voice when I am right here...!'

Maybe if Seth was of the right mind and wasn't currently in an awkward relationship with the annoying system, the changes in Su Muyue could have been spotted sooner... with the high amount of villain points he gained the moment after the call was answered...

'It's your fault... for always following me, giving me such attention... you are bad for making me feel this way and not letting me display it openly!'

This was the moment a Heroine chose to fall into the path of Villainess and abandon all chances of ever connecting with the original hero.

Su Muyue's hands began to unfasten each of her buttons, approaching the unaware Seth from behind, her body fluttering with small blue icicles and deep sapphire eyes shining like a comet in the sky.

'I will make you look my way.'
