"Oh, there it is, the wizard. The powerful and great sorcerer of all times, who took charge of driving two enormous giant wyrms away from Thaloria. It is I who is the one who is powerful and mighty..." The sorcerer faded away in a majestic manner. Then a sound of applause began to emerge. "You got that correct! Praise me, praise me, all of you!! He let out a shout.
"Wait, do I know you?" Luka questioned, confused.
"Huh? You don't know who I am, do you, boy? The sorcerer inquired, obviously taken aback by the response.
"Yeah, because this is the very first time that I've seen you, of course. And you simply keep babbling and making up stories that are entirely and utter stupid."
"Oh, right, kids these days," the elderly guy moaned. "I forgot about them." Then, all of a sudden, a peculiar sort of magic took place. The wizard started transforming into many forms. The old man changed his appearance, turning into a youthful boy.
"Ah, quite an entrance," he remarked with a hint of pride. "Oh yeah, let me introduce myself. The name is. "With a sneer on his face, he introduced himself as Farzan, "the great and mighty wizard of all times." "So, what's your business down here, young boy?"
"It was you, Mr. Farchan thingy, who asked me to come to this meeting. You are the crazed man that keeps showing up in my dreams. "I am aware that you are the one who concocted that scheme," Luka stated accusingly.
"Ah, so you are the father, and the name is Farzan, not Fartchan," the child said. Do you find that my name sounds like a kind of air biscuit?
"What father? I'm not your father. Stop calling me that. I'm too young, and I don't want a crazy son like you."
The sorcerer roared with laughter. "All right, all right, never mind about it. So, what's the name, boy?"
"My name is Luka. I am the child of Princess Seraphina.
"Ah, now I see. So the old hag was actually a noble son of a princess by this point in time. To say the least, fascinating.
"All right, young man, it's time to get down to business. "Give me your hand," Farzan demanded of him.
"No, I don't intend to do that. "I don't trust your face," Luka responded, appearing cautious of the wizard's intention.
"Just give me your hand, boy," Farzan demanded of in a little more insistent tone.
Luka hesitantly extended his hand while maintaining an expression of mistrust.
Farzan mumbled, "Ah, now I understand," after seeing this. "Now take that blade in your hand. The first part of our training will take place outside.
"Oh, what does this crazed man intend to do at this very moment? A duel with a sword?" Luka was perplexed.
The two of them went outside of the tower.
"All right, young man, just stand there, and we'll get started. Do you know how the mana concept functions? When questioned, Farzan stated.
Luka said affirmatively, "Yes, I do have quite some knowledge," with confidence.
"Do you know how to use a sword?"
"Not familiar with using this," Luka admitted.
"All right, let's start," Farzan remarked after an extended period of silence.
Farzan began chanting an enchantment, "Aerolithos formare!"
The boulders started to shift around as if they were putting together an object. They bonded together to create a massive stone golem.
"And what exactly is this?" Am I Trying to Fight This?" Luka questioned with shocked expressions. "I don't know how to use this thing."
"Just fight. Survival is the best teacher," Farzan said confidently as he headed back to the tower.
"And just one more thing," he added, "when you're finished, come back to the tower." I'm going to go ahead and eat my meal."
Luka's training was intense, with stone golems continuously challenging him. Sweat dripped from his brow as he swung his wooden sword, trying to fend off their relentless attacks.
"Ah!" he shouted, exasperated. "Hey, old hag, stop this! Is this some kind of trick? Make these things stop!"
Every time he managed to take one down, it seemed to rise again, as if mocking his efforts. "So, I'll just hit you and you're down? Now come at me, you filthy stones!" he yelled in defiance.
However, every effort seemed futile. "Ughhh, they just keep reviving after I hit them. How long will this take, a year?" He was starting to feel the weight of his exhaustion.
Suddenly, a voice echoed in the distance, "Think!"
Luka grumbled, "What the heck does 'think' mean? Right, let me just think of something again."
A memory of his mother teaching him a technique flashed through his mind. "Oh, right!" he exclaimed, "The cannonball!"
Channeling his energy, Luka unleashed beams of light, shooting them towards the golems. The ground shook with the force of his attacks. When the dust settled, the golems lay defeated, and Luka was panting heavily from the exertion.
Farzan descended from the tower, his eyes widening at the chaotic scene before him. "Oh, quite a messy attraction over there. You sure did make a mess. Did I give you a sword for your training?" he remarked with a smirk.
"You didn't specify I had to use it!" Luka shot back, slightly irritated.
Farzan chuckled, "Okay, okay, my bad. Now come with me to the tower; let's eat. I'm sure you're hungry after that exhaustive training."
Over the meal, Farzan began explaining the intricacies of mana. "There are three mana techniques in this world. Casters draw mana from the earth, circulate it through their bodies, and release it in a magical burst. Enhancers, on the other hand, use the mana to bolster their physical abilities. But some, like you, Luka, are special manipulators, capable of both casting and enhancing. However, your body's build is primarily that of an enhancer."
Luka's eyes widened in surprise. "So, the light I can produce... it was so huge! I can't believe I'm an enhancer."
Farzan nodded, "Special manipulators have a unique ability, but there's a limitation. Since your body leans more towards enhancement, casting repeatedly can be challenging for you. You need to focus on enhancing, and I'll help you master the sword."
Luka, still processing everything, replied, "I'll visit every week for training."
Farzan smiled, "Good. Now, go home. The princess must be worried."
Emerging from Eldoria Lake, Luka headed towards the mansion. As he approached the gate, his heart sank. Seraphina stood there, a mix of relief and anger on her face.
"Where have you been all day, you brat?" she scolded, grabbing his arm. "Come with me, straight to your room."
Luka gulped, "SORRY MOM!" he cried out as he was led inside.
