Chapter 27 - Harems

"Are you saying he could get beat up? I thought that the school had eyes everywhere so their students won't get hurt?"

"They do," She nodded, "but do you think their gonna send a professor out to stop every little squabble? Sure, if its a serious enough fight, but just beating someone up? They won't bother as long as its not in a public place.

"Why do you think they let us students go into the mountains? Its not just because they give us the freedom to do so and trust our judgement, its because they also know we need an outlet to vent our frustrations.

"Fights happen everyday, its just where no one can see. I would suggest going straight back to your dorms after this and never staying out too late because that's when the other years go around doing their 'dirty business' and not the fun kind of dirty.

"They are studious during the day, but at night, they become territorial predators. And as new Awakened students, they will be sizing you up as potential threats and they will either become your enemy or will try to force to be an ally under their banner. The ones you have to worry the most about are the Twin Headed Dragon Harem, and the Crimson Demon Harem. Both are made up of the most powerful, and most dangerous students at this school.

"They are mostly too busy fighting each other so as long as you heed my previous words, you should be fine once this year is over."

Leon was concerned, as he never thought there was going to be a power struggle between Awakened. Sure he had some competition between Kira and himself but did that happen between every Awakened? He didn't think that was the case with Abigail, but perhaps she didn't wish to fight either and guessing by the other two awakened in their class, he only really had to worry about Lucas, while Luna didn't look like she'd care.

And why the weird Harem names? Did they think they were in some sort of eastern fantasy novel? This was a college, nothing more. Leon couldn't help but roll his eyes to whoever the idiots running those Harems were.

"So you're saying people can make their own Harems? That's cool." Luna smiled as she rested her chin on the table, perhaps more interested in Harems than Leon thought.

"Yes they can. Most 2nd years and above are a part of a Harem of some sort. Most are small and just a group of friends usually, but when an Awakened gets involved, it becomes a whole mess. Fourth years will even go out of their way to recruit third and second years in order to make sure the future of their Harem stays strong. Doing so then drags all of the students of the other years into the fourth year's fight.

This has been going on since even before we first enrolled here and I'm sure by the end of the week, you first years will also begin to form Harems of your own and your a power struggle with you Awakened at the helm will ensue." Sierra sighed at Luna's carefree attitude.

"What about those two Harems groups make them so dangerous?" Kira narrowed her eyes.

"The Dragons and Demons? Heh, lemmie tell ya." Manny shifted his weight in his chair with a smirk, "The Twin Headed Dragons are led by two brothers, the Long twins. They are probably the biggest Harem in the school and boast the most power. You need to watch out for both of them, but also their main members who they call the Dragon Scales. There's about a dozen of them total and they are all Awakened.

"As for the Crimson Demons, they are a much smaller group compared to the Dragons, but they are made up solely of Awakened. Not only that, they are all Red Auras. Our fourth year had a lot of Awakened students, and many of them were red auras so some nutjob gathered them all together under a fourth year student at the time who was the previous leader of the Demons. Every single one of them is dangerous so if you ever see someone walking around with some sort of demon like tattoo on their body, carefully run away. Same goes with the Dragons as well."

Leon was really starting to understand why Professor Hilsen seemed so angry with Awakened students. If what these fourth years were saying were true, then this school was incredibly dangerous. Not only that, how would the rest of the Awakened student body look at him, knowing he had more than one Dunamis?

He knew there was now a huge target on his back.

"Are the third years not fighting with the fourth years? Wouldn't there be some fighting between years as well?" Leon questioned, wondering if his sister might have gotten involved in this mess.

"Usually yes," Sierra answered, "However the third years are... busy right now, so the fourth years have focused their attention back on themselves."

"Are they taking a Trial?" Kira immediately said after.

Manny burst out laughing.

"I like her too! She's pretty smart huh?"

"Trials change every year so even we do not know what they are doing." Sierra sighed at Manny's antics, "All we know is that they will be gone for all of the first semester, possibly the second as well."

That concerned Leon a bit, as he was hoping to meet his sister and get some answers from her, but now it seemed he would have to wait even longer. He grumbled to himself and was forced to wait impatiently for that day to come, in the meantime, it sounded like he was going to have to focus on surviving this first semester while avoiding the fourth years.

If he wanted to continue living the student life here and graduate, he would more than likely have to fall into this power struggle system. As someone with two Dunamis, he was a huge wild card and even these powerful fourth years in front of him all looked at him like he was a new toy.

He could only imagine what the other more dangerous fourth years would do to him if they got their hands on him.

"So are you guys not in a Harem?" Leon asked after realizing all this talk about factions, and 4 of those same fourth years were just sitting here with them.

Kira seemed to have already had her guard up while Luna was still lazy as usual.

"Yes and no," Sierra smiled, "You could call us a 'neutral faction,' as we are genuinely only here to help out our underclassmen. We also work directly with the Academy so that gives us some immunity to the whims of the major Harems. That's why we encourage you first years to find a mentor, not only so you can learn to control your own lust, but also so you realize what is going on, on the underside of this Academy and can learn to protect yourselves against it."

Leon nodded and said no more and the conversation then took a turn back to their powers.

"So, do any of you have questions on your Dunamis? We can help deduce what you most likely have." Sierra smiled.

"What does Stamina Drain do, and how much does it drain?" Kira asked first, still serious about all of this.

"You're a red Dunamis correct? Stamina Drain is as it sounds, it drains stamina. Those who sleep with you will lose their energy much quicker than in normal circumstances while you will take that energy and make it your own.

"Depending on how strong that Drain is, the more dangerous it will be to use it. What was your percentage?"

Kira looked down and scrunched up her nose before looking back up.

"Its 91%..." She eventually said.

Manny whistled in surprised and the other two looked at her with a bit of pity.

"If its that high, its pretty likely that your Stamina Drain is really powerful as well. You should be really cautious from now on when you have sex and avoid using your Dunamis. I'm sorry I couldn't be more help." Sierra was genuine.

"Thank you..." Kira's mood stayed low and there was a bit of awkward silence that followed.

"I have something called Adrenaline Rush." Luna spun the paper on the table.

"As a purple Dunamis, it makes people around you more energetic. Be careful though, since as a Purple aura myself, sometimes your powers will activate when you least expect it, and can cause a lot of Chaos." Sierra smiled bitterly.

"Cool." Luna smiled keeping her head in her arm.

"Do you have any questions Leon?" Sierra then turned to him, and everyone else in the room did as well.

As the only one with multiple Dunamis, naturally everyone was going to be curious. Not only that, there was no telling how powerful his abilities would be when put together.

He sighed, "For Blue, it looks like I have Critical Strike Enhancement. 84%"

"Oh, that's pretty good." Kate, who had been silent pretty much the entire time was the first to comment.

As a Blue user herself, she would definitely have a lot of knowledge on the subject.

"I'm not really sure what critical strike is supposed to mean. Can you explain?" Leon looked at his upperclassmen for help.

"Critical Strike allows you to hit a person's most pleasurable spots with a lot more accuracy than you would have normally. As for Enhancement, that means that the more you hit those sweet spots, the more the pleasure will ramp up for your partner.

"It can become a terrifying ability. I think one of the Dragon heads has this as well." Kate looked to her classmates for confirmation.

"The 'Little Demoness' has it as well," Gerardo also added his two-sense, "From the third years I know, they say that its even stronger than the Long brother."

Leon waited before asking about who this Little Demoness was, as he had mostly heard about the fourth years and next to nothing about who the powerful ones in the third year were.

"Wait a second," Manny narrowed his eyes and leaned forward pointing at Leon, "What did you say your name was again?"

Leon raised an eyebrow and looked at him like he was crazy.

"I'm Leon, did you already forget?"

"No, you're last name!" The big man grumbled, "It was Ash-something right?"

"Ashford." Leon looked at him disappointingly before the big man suddenly started slapping the arm of his chair and pointing at Gerardo.

"I knew it! Its Hereditary! What did I tell you! Where's my $100 big guy?"

Now Leon was even more confused. What did his last name have to do with all this? Was he somehow connected to this Little Demoness? And Hereditary? What was he talking about. As Gerardo sighed and began to explain, Leon had already begun putting two and two together, realizing just what the two of them were bickering about.

"Sorry about that Leon. You said your last name was Ashford? You wouldn't happen to have a sister named Allison would you?"
