Chapter 90 - Chapter 90

"Time to die, Kryptonian."

On the docks in Seattle, Leonardo was currently being pummeled by a tall man. While the concrete and metal containers weren't worth noting, the man who was swinging him around like a rag doll was. Right, before Leonardo looked at the man and used heat vision blasting the man through a pile of shipping containers.

Seeing the large man easily climbing out of the containers, Leonardo grumbled slightly. The man before was taller than even himself with short hair, tan skin and heavily muscular. If he had to be compared to Dawyne Jonhson's look small. His eyes were the most non-human about him for he had orange yellow and black rings around his eyes.

"I think it's time for you to leave." Leonardo said back to the muscular man.

"Why leave when there's a feast before me." Aldar grinned.

"The buffet is closed, so no feast for you." Leonardo joked as he took a right hook.

Aldar was one of the Phantoms that escaped the Zone and even nineteen year old Clark barely could face him. The man who feasted on bone marrow had Super Strength, Super speed, and Invulnerability. Leonardo remembered from the show that he could easily tank Clark's fist, though while Leonardo doubted Clark went all out, it was very impressive. Only he remembers and this is a stretch, but the man seems weak against energy attacks.

Which sort of puts Leonardo in a bind, since the only attack that really falls under energy is heat vision. Judging by the way Aldar shook off his blast, even that wasn't effective, granted Leonardo didn't go full out. However, that blast could easily melt tungsten five times over and the man just patted his chest without much issue.

So as Leonardo skipped across the water, he wanted to complain a bit. However, there wasn't really anyone he could blame for his current situation. Since for the most part it was his own doing since he was called in or well volunteered for it by the higher ups and Clark is off dealing with a man who could change frequency.

Why Clark wanted to clean up Lex's mess, Leonardo wanted to complain, but unlike the show. The man was more dangerous than dragging Lana around Smallville trying to expose Lex. Since the man just simply put a bullet into Lana and sent Lex to a different frequency. While also apparently plans to blow up a whole lot of places named 33.1. As for why not just kill Lex, Leonardo guessed the man wanted Lex to suffer. However, with Clark on the case, it probably will fail and that is how Leonardo found himself facing Aldar.

"You know, the sky seems very beautiful." Leonardo thought as a black shadow appeared above him.

Then he saw the bottom of a black boot as he was stomped to the bottom. However, before he rocketed downwards, Leonardo grabbed Aldar leg and whipped around smashing him below him. Right before spinning rapidly in the water and throwing the man into the sky like a rocket.

Following in a blur, Leonardo delivered one heavy strike after another as sonic booms echoed out as Leonardo pelted the man back. Each strike carried more strength then the last, but the man laughed as he suddenly turned. Then, Leonardo was smacked down into the land below.

Feeling the iron taste of his blood on the edge of his mouth. Leonardo let out a deep breath as he rushed towards the incoming Aldar. Where they clashed and the main experience of fighting was more troublesome than General Zod. At least with General Zod, the man didn't have his own body and couldn't display his full strength. Unlike Aldar who didn't have to try and fight in an unfamiliar body or vessel.

So Leonardo, while still striking a few heavy blows of his own, took probably three more for each one. Which made his body ache and there wasn't kryptonite around. Lifted up above Aldar's head, Leonardo suddenly had a bad feeling and soon found himself plummeting and pain, a lot of pain in his back as he was dropped on his seemingly immovable knee. Laying on the ground, Leonardo really felt like crying from the pain as he tried to crawl a bit. However, his leg was grabbed and he was held upside down before Aldar's face.

"Nice, try Kryptonian." Aldar grinned.

"Well, I am not done yet." Leonardo weakly smiled.

Stretching out his hands, he grabbed Aldar face and grabbed his thumbs into the man's eyes and tried to twist his neck. Well besides getting his foot crushed before being dropped and the man roaring in anger and pain. Leonardo picked himself up as the sun ray healed him the best it could in the short moment.

Then Leonardo threw one martial arts move after another he knew, as he attacked the man at his vitals. He didn't dare get careless and unless he could knock the man out to throw him back into the Phantom Zone. Then the only other option is to kill him which was something Leonardo didn't really want to do.

While many will feel he is weak for thinking like that. However, he was a normal person before he found himself in this world. So if he can get away without having to kill his opponent, then he will take it. However, as each strike landed on the man, Aldar just grinned as he grabbed each of Leonardo fists. Then Leonardo saw stars for a moment as he was just headbutted over and over again. Before he felt his arms being pulled away.

"Gah!" Leonardo screamed.

"Why do you keep fighting?" Aldar asked. "You had plenty of opportunities to escape, but you kept fighting. It can't be to deliver me a meal, and you seem to stop yourself from escaping. So why do you keep fighting?"

Leonardo didn't answer and it was not because he was screaming in pain. However, he didn't understand why he continued to fight. If he said he was fighting for a cause of a better world or because he wants to protect the lives of humanity. Then Leonardo would be lying, since he didn't believe those statements as many are led others to believe. Even now, he is basically going through the motions at work.

Leonardo wasn't from this world, so he felt a bit disconnected, but as he continued to live. This feeling faded but still hovered in him despite the connections he made. Time is moving and those connections tend to drift from him and come back again maturing. While he felt himself standing still, almost stuck in the past left alone and not needed by anyone's most days.

Feeling the pain assaulted his body, Leonardo's mind refocused on the fight as he planted his feet on Aldar's chest and began to push the man back. However, Aldar question still hung in his head, which weakened the strength Leonardo was putting into his attempt to break free.

Since, his loneliness surfaced and began to doubt if there was any point for him to be in this world anymore. Since Clark matured and began to step forward to becoming a man Leonardo believes he can be. Leonardo realized, neither living Kents needed him, and Aurora was so busy running her studio. Most of the time besides a few calls, he barely sees her and half the time it is her trying to begin a film career as an AV star.

'Am I really needed?' Leonardo thought to himself.

Feeling his worthlessness, Leonardo was soon grabbed and given a bone crushing hug. Which made him scream a bit in agony.

"Did someone lose their warrior heart with such words? Heh, you were fun, but now it's time to die." Aldar said.

'Warrior Heart?' Leonardo thought for a moment.

While these two words really didn't have much to do with what entered his mind. Leonardo found a spark inside himself. A spark that soon turned into a raging inferno as he felt Jor-El words coming back to him and even he himself told himself before.

'Have you ever thought that you don't need to be everywhere at once?'

Yes, he was so busy trying to manage his time to fit in and be there when others needed him. He had forgotten that he should also make time for himself and realized that others can manage their own affairs. He shouldn't need to try to lessen their own responsibility or the trouble and pain others will face in life by shouldering it all for them.

'It's time to take a step back and exit this vicious cycle. The time has come for me to walk forward and follow the advice I gave Clark so long ago' Leonardo thought and erupted in strength breaking free from Aldar.
