~Warning—Mature content~He shook his head. "No, thanks. I might end up needing you later tonight."

 

My face flared red, and I glared at him. "Don't tempt me."

 

A wide grin stretched across his lips. "As long as I live, I will never hold back on my feelings."

 

I rolled my eyes. "I have a feeling that I won't either."

 

We stared at each other for several minutes before he finally broke the silence.

 

"Some drinks and food would be nice, though," he said, reaching for the tray.

 

I smiled. It seemed like we both wanted to pretend the night hadn't happened. But there was no need. We could start fresh by taking a few shots together.

 

When I brought out two glasses of whiskey, he took them both. "It must be hard to be so close yet so far apart, but I must say it was a lucky choice to pick this room for you. I bet you've already figured that out."
