Chapter 5 - Chapter 5

Be it the Anime or the Movie, Hiroyuki hasn't watched any show related to JJK yet.

The reason? Well, he doesn't know. At that point in his life, he simply doesn't want to watch it despite its popularity, no other reason. Even he himself can't explain it.

But that doesn't mean he has zero knowledge of the show.

If it helps, he had read the first 15 or so chapters of the manga when the series first came out. But, other than that, that's pretty much it.

But still, JJK is a pretty popular show and has a massive following so even if he did not indulge himself in it, he would be aware of it one way or another. Additional to that is the fact that JJK has one of the most toxic fanbases on the internet.

Not only do they like to argue about how JJK is the best anime ever, but they also like to spoil every little thing that is happening within the show for everyone to see.

And Hiroyuki, who pretty much lives inside his room, surfing through forums every day arguing with these kinds of people, was extremely exposed to this kind of thing. In the first place, to argue about JJK, one must know what it is.

But, despite finding himself browsing through the JJK fandom due to some meaningless argument on the internet from time to time, it doesn't change the fact that he was no expert on the series. At least, it is not comparable to his knowledge about the other shows he truly likes.

A fact that is really unfortunate.

In any case, making sense of everything here is easy now. For example, there's that one moment when he heard the word Curse Energy for the first time. At that point, thanks to those kinds of happenings in the past, everything just clicked.

No more is needed.

Talking about Energies though, on another topic, at the current time, Hiroyuki is finally sure that other than his fully intact memories, nothing more came through from his past life.

Specifically speaking, his Aura.

In his past life, Hiroyuki mastered and used Aura so much that it is already considered as another part of his identity. It's not even an exaggeration to say that he uses it as much as he breathes.

That's how natural it became for him.

That's why after repeated cycles of trying to call out his Aura, and constantly finding no answer, he finally accepted the fact that in this life, his beloved Partner wasn't here anymore to accompany him. He did not even consider the idea that it was just not responding to him or any ridiculous thoughts like that.

It will answer his call if it is there. Period.

A pretty saddening fact indeed. But that doesn't mean it's all gloomy. Cause in search for a diamond, he found... well, something that is not as good as the latter but still precious nonetheless.

Basically, in the middle of him calling out his Aura, Hiroyuki was made aware of another foreign energy, the so-called "Curse Energy".

He wasn't so surprised about it though cause, according to what he's been hearing so far, although manipulating it is a whole other matter, it exists within everyone.

Besides, he already expected its appearance soon as he is currently living in a house filled with beings capable of harnessing it. It's simply a matter of time.

So, he ignored it at first. Not because it's unimpressive, but because back then, he was still focused on trying to make his Aura come out.

But, as time went on, it kinda grew into him. He even found it cute and adorable at some point. As weird of a phrase that is.

Well, in Hiroyuki's defense, how could he not find it as such? Whenever he's calling his Aura to come out, Curse Energy is always the one that bursts out of him instead, constantly wriggling around his entire body.

To describe his Curse Energy as some kind of child calling for his attention, all while shouting "Me! Me! I'm here!" is pretty on point actually.

In any case, after making a quick analysis of his Curse Energy, Hiroyuki couldn't really hide his surprise the moment he found out that CE heavily resembled how Aura behaves.

Obviously, when it comes to raw quality, both are not comparable, but the way they operate is a resemblance for sure.

Like how it is fluid, versatile, impactful, and all that.

However, knowing such a fact isn't really a massive advantage for now since, apart from stimulating it so he can be used to it, he really can't do much about it. Whether he likes it or not, he's dealing with foreign energy here, and he needs to wait till he matures first before doing whatever he wants with it.

Even though it's acting pretty tamed, as unexpected as that is, in the end, Curse Energy is made out of negative energy. It is called a curse for a reason.

So dealing with it with extreme caution is never bad.

As his old friend likes to say, a cautious one is always better than an aggressive one.

He has been in this position before, he knows what to do already. Although he doesn't know exactly what the future holds, he knows that it isn't a peaceful one, that's for sure.

And he gotta make sure he doesn't kick the bucket before that could even happen.

That's why in the meantime, he gotta start slow.

And as precise as possible.

Another two whole years have passed and Hiroyuki is now 3 years old.

He just had his birthday a couple of weeks ago.

This time, he can finally move around the house without any inconvenience at all. Not only that but he can even communicate now with the people around him, making his life much easier.

A pretty big leap considering before, he could only roll around the bed and crawl, and say some inaudible noises.

An achievement that probably isn't much for others but for him who was basically imprisoned in bed for almost a year and a half, he couldn't be more happy for this.

Well, a couple of maids were still following him around but after a couple of years of being treated as such, he already got used to it. He wasn't as bothered by it anymore, at least not as much as before.

Besides, through this, he can finally broaden his investigation area and gather more kinds of new information.

But, even though he isn't allowed to leave the house he's currently in, cause there are many houses within the area of Gojo Clan, as the young master who has the highest odds of becoming the head in the future, there are many people who often comes here with the specific purpose of visiting him.

Or at least, that's mostly the guise people here often use to observe him closely.

Well, during these three years, he finally acquired enough understanding as to how the politics around the Clan works.

The first thing he understood about it is that his status right now is in a pretty weird position.

It's all because of the fact that the Gojo Clan sticks heavily to the traditions and rules set by the founders a long time ago. One of those crucial traditions is that the head must possess an innate technique of the clan.

Specifically speaking, Limitless and the Six Eyes.

Obviously, such phenomena are very rare so such a rule cannot be followed always. During these times, they would often go for the next best thing, which in this case, seeing his current position, it's Hiroyuki.

From what he had heard, according to the Elders, among the children here within the Clan, if there's one who has the highest potential to awaken an incredible Innate Technique, that would probably be him due to the unique and Huge amount of Curse Energy he possesses since birth.

That's the reason why most of them favored him the most.

But, a thing called politics exists, so everything does not go as smoothly as everyone would hope to cause at the end of the day, it is impossible to please everyone.

Thankfully, those who did not favor him did not do anything too extreme. All they had done so far was to just send some annoying people here to observe him and his actions.

That's it.

Well, that's probably because they haven't seen him as a threat yet, so it's just that. But the moment that changes, which would surely happen soon, Hiroyuki doubted they'd stay still.

If he possess the Six Eyes and the Limitless, all the Elders would most likely support him. But since he doesn't possess any of that, or at least, he's sure he doesn't, then that means he is easily replaceable.

The moment it was found that he could not awaken an Innate Technique or found someone better, those who were against him would surely seize the opportunity to remove him from his spot.

"Things are much worse than what I had anticipated," Hiroyuki muttered under his breath as he observed the other houses from afar.

Which shows a lot of people that are eyeing him back.

This sight made him sigh heavily.

"Goodness." Hiroyuki ruffled his hair as he started walking back inside the house.

Even though he hated the idea of it, he was aware that he needed to start taking action soon.

He originally planned to lay back for a bit and accustom himself to the place first but, as shown, If he continues with his current pace, he will be put in a pretty annoying spot in the future for sure.

"I guess I don't have much choice."
