As stated before, Six Eyes grants its users immense power. So much so that upon its appearance, everyone, even the world itself is immediately forced to revolve around it.
So, it's only natural that it's already within everyone's expectation that Gojo Satoru, the very kid who holds such power, is destined to become the strongest soon.
It's not a false rumor or mere superstition. No. It's a fact that is even supported by the records showing all the great consistent feats of all the previous holders of the Six Eyes.
In short, it's simply nothing but the truth.
But... that doesn't make such a fact not despisable within Hiroyuki's eyes.
Hiroyuki is a person who has already reached the pinnacle of strength in his previous life and was even hailed as the absolute strongest by literally everyone. Even by his enemies.
So in this world, if someone would know how it feels to hold such a title, it would be no other than him.
In regards to his opinion on such a matter... he simply sees that title as a thing that shouldn't be praised or celebrated.
For it is nothing but a cruel joke for the person who holds it.
Like a chain that binds one person and refuses to let go till the very end. A despicable chain of fate that forces everyone to look at you as either of the two things...
A devil or a savior.
Nothing more than that.
As horrible and unbelievable as it may sound, for Hiroyuki himself, that is nothing but the truth.
Looking back at such times, he can clearly remember the exact faces and expressions that everyone would make the moment they all look at his face.
He can see that all of them aren't seeing him for who he is. As a person. As a human being. No one cares about that side of him anymore.
For others, he is simply one thing...
The strongest hero, the rank 1. That's about it.
Even those who are close to him, whom he judges as his true friends, are not even an exception to some degree. No matter how hard he tries or opens his heart, none can truly understand his true feelings.
Well, now that Hiroyuki is free of such a curse, he already understands that there's no one to blame for such a happening.
In the first place, how do you connect with a man who has seen the face of death so many times... And has risen past heaven just to defeat it?
How do you relate with the most important man in the world? A man who's given so much strength and yet, powerless when it comes to saving those who truly matter?
How would they?
Now the answer to those questions is truly short and simple.
No one can.
No one would be able to see and understand the weight of responsibilities and duties he has to bear at all those times.
No matter what he does, that is simply the situation he's in.
A life void of any sincerity and a position so high that no one could reach him anymore.
He's just there.
Sitting alone at the top.
And he himself, has no choice but to accept and face such a fact simply because...
Well, that's what it means to be the strongest, isn't it?
A curse by fate. Or at least, that's how it is for Hiroyuki.
Unfortunately, it seems that even in his current life, he isn't completely free yet. Because his younger brother, Satoru, was branded with the same curse.
What's worse is that it didn't even happen after he gained enough power, but was literally handed to him right after his birth.
Hence it's understandable why Hiroyuki sees all of this as nothing but a cruel joke.
Truth be told, he doesn't want it anymore. He already suffered enough. All he wanted to do in this life, as stated before, was just rest and retire.
But Hiroyuki can just not stand on the sidelines and simply watch.
Secluded inside the house. Hidden from anyone. No interaction from any kids of his age. A high bounty followed by never-ending assassination attempts.
No child should experience such horrible things.
Overall, that's the reason why Hiroyuki decided to stand up and take the spotlight once again.
Fate is nigh absolute, so stopping it is almost impossible. That's true. But Hiroyuki can still do something to ease it all up.
He knows that Satoru isn't ready to take such a role yet, so he will do him a favor by taking the mantle of the strongest in the meantime. Absorbing all the chaos it would bring away from him, letting him develop and prepare until the right moment comes.
That's the choice he decided to make. As much as he hated it.
But what can he do? Technically, he isn't retired yet. So protecting the weak and helping those who are in trouble is still his job. And his younger brother currently befalls unto those categories.
So he simply has no other choice but to do it anyway.
Well, he actually has another choice he can choose if he wants to.
That is, turning a blind eye letting everything happen as it is, and proceeding with his own plans anyway. The selfish route.
But he doesn't want to do that.
Why would he do that?
Or...
Why would he NOT do that? This is probably the real question here.
Fortunately, Hiroyuki himself has an answer for it given that it isn't the first time for him to entertain such a thought.
And since then up until now, no matter how long had already passed since then, it seems that his answer remained unchanged.
"Simply because... that's what Heroes do."
____ Next scene loading... ____
Time flew by so fast that a couple of years had already passed before anyone could even notice it.
Throughout the years that Hiroyuki had stayed in Jujutsu High, he had done and achieved so much. Much more than he had expected really.
He has proven his strength to everyone else, making him develop so many connections and political power that he would surely need for his future plans.
Along the way, he also gathered enough funds to support whatever he was planning to do without relying on anyone anymore, unlike before.
Well, apart from the money he had saved up back then when he was still staying in the clan, he also got so much from all the numerous missions he had done so far. With all of that combined, it's pretty understandable why he managed to accumulate so much.
This doesn't even mention Senjumaru who, given all the things she was doing inside and outside the school, probably had at least triple the amount of what Hiroyuki had.
Obviously, that's HER money but, given their situation and relation to each other, they decided that it's more wise to just have a joint account, making all their accumulated money combined.
That's why there's no such thing as her or his money anymore, it's THEIRS now.
So, unless they both go crazy and recklessly spend their money, they already have enough that they can retire and still be fine for life.
But as good as it is to be financially stable and have good connections and power, what's more important at the end of the day is the lessening of Curse activity throughout Japan.
It's still worse perse... but not so worse anymore.
All thanks to Hiroyuki who kept going all over the country like a madman, searching and hunting for Curses non-stop.
A pretty surprising fact to hear especially to those who truly know how lazy Hiroyuki can be sometimes.
Well, it's all thanks to the idea that if he spent his entire school years doing such a thing, he would be able to retire sooner than he expected.
Making it seem like he was planning to eradicate all the existing curses throughout Japan.
Which is pretty unrealistic. There's no way he can do such a thing even if he spent his whole life doing it. Hiroyuki is aware of this.
But that isn't his purpose for doing this anyway. What he had in mind was something different, but not too different from the initial example.
Curses tend to become stronger the longer they exist. That, combined with the fact that Hiroyuki doesn't have any idea about future events, is the main reason.
To make the long story short, he planned to cut down as many Curse Spirits as possible, hoping that some of them would be one of the possible reasons for a major future accident.
That's pretty much it.
It's basically like a lottery. He kills a random Curse Spirit, there's a chance that it might prevent something. If it does, then it's good for him, if it doesn't, then at least, that's one problem out of the way.
At this point, he's not even worried if the Canon would still be the same. Or if he messed up the timeline already for doing the things he had done.
He could not care less at all.
Why would he, he cannot use it to his advantage anyway.
As embarrassing as it is to admit it, Hiroyuki doesn't even have any idea if the Canon already started. Or how to know if it already started.
That's how clueless he is.
But one thing is for sure. He's not worried about what the future holds, not even a bit.
According to what he heard from Senjumaru, this world doesn't have any capability to produce something or someone that could be compared to the worst beings he had already seen and faced in the past.
Even the most recent appearance of a Disaster Level Curse which is easily a 'Worse' in this world's standard, seems cute in Hiroyuki's eyes.
Well... there's one amongst the beings that Senjumaru described as the closest and most likely the worst of them all.
It's no other than the King of Curses himself, Sukuna.
However, Hiroyuki didn't even bat an eye when this being was mentioned. In the first place, he doesn't exist anymore so entertaining the idea of facing him is pretty useless.
But according to Senjumaru's description of the King of Curses, if he were to appear in the current day, Hiroyuki would probably have a hard time facing him. And Hiroyuki, after hearing the possible capabilities that this Sukuna might hold, reluctantly agreed.
A fact that could probably make those who know Hiroyuki well, raise an eye. He's too confident and even slightly arrogant most of the time that admitting to such a thing would be too surprising.
Although it can be pretty misleading, Hiroyuki doesn't lie in situations like this.
Being able to decimate things in the blink of an eye, unmatched curse energy control, and a humongous curse energy pool. If that were truly the extent of Sukuna's abilities, then he would for sure give Hiroyuki a hard time.
But that's about it. Nothing more.
And no one could probably blame Hiroyuki for having such a nonchalant reaction. He's a guy who already faced a being like GOD who can easily tear reality apart given enough opportunity to do so.
So Sukuna for him, according to what he heard so far, would be nothing but your typical third-rate villain.
Unless he finally meets him face to face and sees the true strength of the King of Curses for himself, then his opinion remains the same.
If Sukuna appears and regains all his original strength, he will cause quite trouble for Hiroyuki, that's for sure.
But would he lose?
Nah, he wins.
