Soft beeping sound rang loudly echoing again and again in the same room.
Jua Gu frowned deeply in his sleep. 'What is making that sound... it's annoying...' he wanted to open his eyes and scold his subordinate to check on it but his heavy lids refused to move.
'huh… yeah... I died... and I'm in another world now...' he finally remembered where he was.
Tegh weird clothed men took him in a strange carriage and arranged his broken bones. He was awake until then and after that, he completely fell asleep.
His fingers twitched slightly. The searing pain had reduced to a manageable level.
"What happened to that kid...' I need to check on him. he moved around a bit, but it felt like something had tied him down to the bed.
Suddenly, a warm hand held his cold palm. "Jua dear… grandma's here dear. Don't be scared. You are safe now."
Jua Gu froze. 'This body has a grandma….'
he had been an orphan all his life. His only family was his master and his junior brother. Suddenly he gained an old grandmother so He did not know how to react to this at all.
He slowly opened his heavy lids and gazed at the aged woman. She sat slightly hunched on the small seat. Her hands were stick thin even so her face had a brilliant smile. "My child… does it hurt very much?" she gently caressed his forehead.
The warmth made his eyes tear up.
Jua Gu closed his eyes and shook his head.
"Good, I'll call the doctor. I will be right back, okay? Don't be scared," the old lady gently kissed his head and walked out slowly.
He watched her slowly trembling gait with a small frown. The older woman was too weak.
When he touched her hand just that moment, he felt her veins pop out. it was not healthy to be this thin, especially at the ripe old age.
'This world doesn't even have spiritual power…. There is no way I can help her...'
Soon the healer they call doctor came to check on him.
the man gently touched his arm.
"Hiss!!" Jua pulled his arm away.
"Does it still hurt?"
Jua nodded.
The doctor checked the records that hung on the side of the bed. "You have the maximum dosage of morphine injected… as I suspected. You have heightened pain sensors."
"What is wrong with him doctor?" the old lady panicked holding her grandson's hand.
"it's something very rare. Only one in ten thousand people have such a body. he has a super sensitive body. even a pin prick can feel like a nail going through their skin. Your grandson unfortunately has this condition. For him, even the highest dosage of drugs can't take away the pain." The doctor sighed.
"Is there a cure sir. Please help him."
"Presently we have nothing to help him with." The doctor simply shook his head.
"Oh no…" the old lady started to sob loudly holding her face.
"I'm fine…" Jua Gu opened his dry mouth. "No pain."
"Oh, my poor child," she came up to him and gently held a cup of water.
Jua Gu drank the water and sat up with difficulty. "What about my bones?" he asked the most important question.
The men had used a hammer to roughly break them. if the bones shatter too much, it will cause a permanent limp in his steps.
"Thankfully the break was clean we were able to join it with ease. he is a young boy the bones will fuse by itself. the cast will have to stay on for three months. Don't move much. Please make sure to eat a lot of meat and grow healthy." Saying so the doctor left the room.
Jua Gu took a good look at the old lady. Her white hair was like hemp rope tied in a small pigtail. Her small face was wrinkly and pale in color.
He frowned deeply. 'She doesn't look healthy...'
He held out his hand.
"What is it child," the old lady gently held his hand.
He input a small amount of spiritual energy into her body and did a thorough check. The body's analysis made his frown deepen. "You're dying."
The lady's smile froze. "Those doctors are all scammers. They are lying. Grandma is well, child. I won't die until you are married and have a child of your own."
Jua silently gazed at her face. "Your insides are rotting."
She will probably live for a few months at most.
He had seen internal rit like this. The cause of it was always unknown. It would eat away the organs and kill the patient in the most painful way.
Even now the old lady might be in pain but she refused to show it to her dear grandson.
'But her grandson is no longer here…' he fell into a cycle of guilt and sadness.
What he didn't realize was that the door to the private room opened and closed silently.
Ying Mao hugged the wellness basket tightly in his hand. His caretaker was close to him, looking at him doubtfully.
"We will come another day," he walked out with a small frown.
Jua was the reason he was kidnapped by those men, but he didn't reveal this information to his parents.
he did not even know why he chose to hide this.
The greedy servant had planned this all along and when they were successfully kidnapped, the boy had begged those men for the promised money.
The boy had sobbed loudly and cried, saying he needed the money desperately.
He didn't know why he was so desperate.
After all, Jua was taken care of by the Mao family. He had everything given to him for free.
Now he knew...
Jua's grandmother might be sick.
He quickly called his mother.
"Ying! why did you run off again? I told you to stay pout at home. Why won't you ever listen?" His mum said in a doting tone.
"Mum Jua's grandmother might be sick. Can you help her?"
"What? definitely, we will. That child almost gave up his life for you. how could we not repay him?"
Ying Mao frowned slightly and cut the call. "He is the reason I was there in the first place…"
