I sighed in relief as I watched the truck go by.
"You need to keep your eyes on the road." I heard a familiar voice say.
"What I need is a nap, I am starting to hear voices ," I mumbled to myself before facepalming myself.
It felt like a dream when I blinked and saw another car in front of me. I tried turning the steering wheel repeatedly but it felt stuck or am I frozen?
The last thing I remember was the lights flashing directly into my eyes, the pain I felt from banging my head and how pitch black the sky became.
My head was spinning painfully. I tried raising my hand to touch my body but I couldn't.
"Oh, you're awake." The figure of a beautiful lady with pearl-white skin came into sight.
My eyes fluttered trying to get a glimpse of her facial structure but everything remained blurry.
What happened to me? How did I get here? Where is here?
"Don't stress your pretty head, you had an accident and have been unconscious, we are glad to see you conscious."
No one had ever spoken to me with such calmness before which made her remind me of my mother. She was fond of speaking gently even when she was meant to be yelling, she spoke like if she raised her voice she would bleed out of her throat.
I found myself nodding to the woman not understanding a word she spoke.
"Are you okay?." She asked me and immediately walked closer.
She checked my heartbeat and the drip I was on.
She sighed in relief. I still couldn't see her properly but I could hear her voice, footsteps and breathing.
"Don't stress yourself so your body can allow the drugs in your system to do their job." She preached.
"Thank you," I spoke my first word since how long I had been unconscious.
My sight began to become clear though I could not still see things clearly.
"You seem to be having difficulties seeing." She observed.
"No, I am fine." I smiled at her.
She nodded and then walked closer, she pulled out a device that looked similar to a flashlight, she pulled on my eyelid gently and flashed the light into my eyes.
"You're fine, you're just in shock the same way you went into a coma because of shock and fear." She informed me.
"Coma?."
"Just rest, in a couple of hours you will be fine." The doctor said,
^^^^
I climbed out of the hospital bed with my eyes looking around, I could remember a few blurry pictures before the accident.
I pushed the glass door open, it felt like trying to roll a boulder out of the way.
I walked around the huge hospital barefooted with a hospital dress on and nothing underneath, my head was heavy and my feet numb.
"Shouldn't you be in bed?." I heard the voice of a man ask and for some reason, it sounded like my uncle, Henry.
"Big Uncle Henry?."
No!!, no!! Did they call my family after the accident happened? Was he the one who admitted me into this hospital?
I couldn't take the chance of getting caught again, so I dashed out, I couldn't feel my feet but I knew I was running, very fast at that.
Without looking back because I didn't want to see his hideous horrific face.
"Catch that girl!!." His tone rang in my head.
Tears began to run down my cheeks, I finally stopped running and turned around.
"I am sorry." I apologised with my eyes on my toes. "Please don't hurt me."
"I am worried you will hurt yourself." His words shocked me for a moment before I remembered what kind of a person he was ( a two-faced man)
"Why?." I questioned him aggressively. "You have never cared so why now?!!."
"Look up." I could hear the confusion in his voice. "Are you okay?." He asked me.
I gradually brought myself to look up at him, my jaw fell open when my eyes met his beautiful pitch-black eyes.
His eyes looked like a wormhole, his lips were dark brown and his teeth sparkling white.
"Hey?." I watched his lips move to make the sound and his tongue bounced inside his mouth.
I took a breath of relief with sweat dripping off the side of my forehead. "I thought." I paused to breathe. "You were someone else."
He smiled and then reached out for my hand which made me step back.
"My hand won't bite you."
"It could!." I rolled my eyes.
"Take a seat." He instructed and I immediately did.
The man stood in front of me while I sat down looking up at him.
"How old are you?." He asked me.
"Seventeen," I replied.
"What's your name?." He asked.
"Quiana."
He had an odd smile on his face, for some reason, he looked like he was enjoying having a conversation with me or was he acting?
He has to be acting.
"What's your last name Quiana?."
"Why? Why do you want to know?." I became defensive and angry all at once.
He stepped closer which made me scared.
"Quiana did you have to sound like that? Now you are in trouble." I thought, scared of what next could happen.
"It's fine if you don't want to answer, where are your parents or guardians?" He was too calm for a man.
Compared to every man I have ever had the opportunity to be around, he seemed gentle and nice. He had not tried to touch me or sexualize me. Instead, he was worried and trying to help, he was quick to calm me down whenever I got aggressive or defensive.
Is this some kind of an act?, well too bad for him, I am not so dumb to fall for his tricks.
"Mr Zayden!." A female voice called out and he turned immediately.
That must be his name. "Zay…" I tried to pronounce his name.
