The palace of Vernon was at the heart of the Royal Capital. Stepping out of the carriage, Sienna's eyes were met by the vast garden of the palace. In front of her was the towering royal castle, grand and lavish.
Lemiel and Davi walked side by side as they were welcomed at the main doors of the palace. Maids forming an aisle greeted them, bowing their heads as if they had expected the arrival of the famous duke of Amstel fortress. Sienna tailed the father and son quietly.
A mirthful laugh echoed in the receiving hall of the palace. Soon, a middle-aged vampire stepped into view, meeting his guests halfway. Sienna hadn't seen the man before, but with his clothes and stance full of vigor, she knew it was the king.
"Finally, finally! I have been waiting for you, Lemiel!"
Sienna kept her distance, standing several steps away behind Lemiel and their son. Davi glanced at her briefly, checking if she was still with them. She gave him a discreet, reassuring look.
