Every person in the hall had their attention caught by a woman's shrill. Their eyes were soon all over the lady who was now on the floor, covered with desserts.
The lady stood up, and she looked around, shaking in embarrassment. Her eyes soon found the young vampiress who had given her the glass of wine where the frog came from.
"You!" she pointed at Blair. "You did this to me!"
The amusement in Blair's expression disappeared, and it was replaced by concern and innocence.
"M-me?" Blair stammered, her eyes softening. "I didn't do anything, Lady Kate."
"You little liar! You gave that glass of wine to me-" The lady stopped when an older woman came by her side and whispered something to her.
"Get a hold of yourself, Kate. You are forgetting where we are and who that girl is."
"Did you just hear someone call my pretty niece a liar?" Someone walked through the crowd.
