In the study, Lemiel called the butler to prepare his carriage as he was about to leave. Clark appeared before him and after nodding to his command, he told his master,
"Young master Davian asked me to seek your permission, sire. He wants to take a walk in the town park with Miss Blair and his maid. Would you grant his request?"
Although Lemiel had earlier suggested to the boy that he could accompany his cousin for a walk, he had meant within the mansion grounds. He had a feeling about who suggested the town park, and despite recalling the rule he had set for Sienna about not taking Davi outside the residence, he decided not to mention it.
"Let another coachman drive me and have Perry accompany them," he instructed.
Clark bowed. "Yes, sire."
Less than an hour later, the posh carriage from the duke's residence halted at the town park. Sienna climbed down first, followed by the two children.
