Sienna watched the sky from the window of the carriage. They had left the palace and were heading out of the royal capital.
After breakfast, Lemiel had told the king that he was returning to Amstel Fortress by the afternoon. The king wanted them to extend their stay, but Lemiel didn't intend to stay in the palace longer, saying that he had a pile of work waiting for him.
In the carriage, Davi sat beside Sienna while Lemiel was on the other side. Silence enveloped them, and she busied herself looking outside while her arm was around little Davi's shoulder.
"What's with the look?"
Sienna turned to Lemiel when he spoke. She wasn't sure if he was talking to her or Davi.
When she noticed him raising a brow at her, she asked, "What do you mean?"
"You seem a little reluctant to leave. Maybe you left something behind?" His tone was suggestive.
"Not that I am aware of," came her quick reply. She had no idea what the vampire was pointing out.
