Chapter 5 -  Individual Show, True Youth Team Ball Busters!

"Oh my god! What just happened?"

"That's a sack? That big guy didn't even react!"

"This bouncing speed... That bounce height... That guy grew up on rocket launchers, right?"

"Doesn't anyone blow Chen's CORSSOVER before the dunk? It was so explosive!"

The audience froze and then exploded en masse!

Drinks, beer, popcorn all over the place!

For that one goal, that's worth the price of admission tonight!

Not only the audience, even the NBA scouts at the scene were marveling at Chen Yan's operation!

Where did this guy come from? I've never heard of him before?

These scouts were almost all clear for Durant, but after Chen Yan scored 6 points in a row on his own terms many had already shifted their attention to him.

"Defense! Defense! Put some confrontation on them, they can't score against us!"

There was no time to celebrate, Chen Yan simply high-fived his teammates and immediately retreated back to defense.

In the process of retreating to the defensive half of the field, Chen Yan also continued to clap and inspire his teammates, trying to use the offense to drive the team's defense.

Seeing this scene, head coach Rick Barnes on the sidelines nodded his head back and forth; the one thing the Texas Longhorns have been lacking is a leader, which is why the general consensus is that this team won't go far in March Madness.

Simply put a team like that can't play hardball!

But from what Chen Yan just did on the field, Rick Barnes thinks he has the potential to be a leadership player!

The players on the Texas field rekindled their fighting spirit under Chen Yan's leadership!

March Madness is a dream stage for all NCAA players, and no one wants to go home early from a round robin to go fishing!

Texas' sudden increase in defensive intensity was uncomfortable for New Mexico State players, and the sound of muscle on muscle was constantly ringing out on the field!

After a couple of passes, Branson picked up an open cut across the floor and missed a layup!

After falling to the ground, Branson spread his arms toward the referee and complained, signaling that the shot was a push foul!

The referee ignored it and ran straight to the front of the field.

Because the Texas comeback is starting and he's got to watch the field!

DJ Augustine drives quickly with the ball and passes it to Durant one step before half court.

Instead of attacking himself after receiving the ball, Durant made a cross-court pass to Chen Yan on the other side.

Although Durant is the team's top player, unlike other stars, Durant is happy to share the ball, especially when he sees his teammates in top form.

Chen Yan received the ball and took a dive, dribbling and killing the free throw line in the process!

Richardson saw this and hurriedly retreated, he was nervous, Chen Yan's wobbling and speed he had seen in the last round.

In the very next instant, Chen Yan suddenly slammed his foot on the brake and pulled back with a sharp crotch stop!

  The floors were almost sparking!

In the next second, there was a unanimous gasp from the two commentators at the commentary desk:

"O!!!G! Chan shook Richardson right out of the shot!"

What was even more execrable was that Chen Yan didn't forget to look at Richardson, who was three meters away, before he took his shot.

It was a physical and mental double whammy!

  "Swish!"

A shot from the free throw line and the basketball went into the net with a splash!

Richardson got up and looked at the coach on the sidelines with a helpless look on his face, he really tried his best...

  "TIE-OUT!"

New Mexico State head coach Reggie Toews gestures toward the referee for a timeout.

Chen Yan has turned it on completely and Reggie Toews has to cool down his hot form.

And if he doesn't call a timeout again, I'm guessing the huge cheers of the fans on the field will shake the earwax out of him!

  "Chen! Well done!"

"You just nearly shook that guy's ankle off!"

"Your opponent can't defend you at all, keep ravaging them!"

Chen Yan had just walked to the sidelines when his teammates excitedly swarmed up to him and high-fived him one by one.

Even head coach Rick Barnes went up and patted Chen Yan on the back of the head as a sign of encouragement.

Chen Yan was as hot as a microwave on the court, cutting 8 points in a row!

However, in Rick Barnes' opinion, Chen Yan's contribution is far more than just scoring 8 points in a row, the more important contribution after he came on the court is a wave of reversal of the previous low morale!

Many spectators in the stands behind the bench were also chanting Chen Yan's name.

Surrounded by teammates, recognized by coaches, and cheered on by fans, I have to say it's a really good feeling!

This was an image that Chen Yan had dreamed of since he was a child!

However, Chen Yan did not let up on this.

The game isn't over yet, and the Texas Longhorns are still trailing on the scoreboard at the moment.

Chen Yan and his other teammates formed a circle with their shoulders, quietly listening to the head coach's next tactical arrangement.

On the other side of the ball, the New Mexico State bench painted a completely different picture.

  "Bang!"

OC Reggie Toews slammed his tactical board to the ground with a vicious dragon growl.

"It's game time! All T get your head out of your ass!"

"Look at the shit you guys just fought in those rounds!"

"It's the Round of 64 not a usual practice game!"

Reggie Toews is sputtering as he hopes to wake up the players under him with the fragrance of his mouth.

There is now 9:07 left in the full game and New Mexico State currently holds a five-point lead.

The next few minutes will be crucial in order to secure advancement to the next round!

Reggie Toews' roar of the dragon seemed to pay off, coming on and catching a mid-range jumper after Doug Brown double-covered through a teammate!

New Mexico State finally broke the scoring drought!

The smile on Reggie Toews' face didn't last long, though.

Texas opted for a bottom line quick serve this round, and the ball sailed over DJ Augustine's head right into Chen Yan's hands!

Noah Richardson with a flying tackle!

Prepare for a gamble steal the moment Chen Yan catches the ball!

The idea is beautiful, but unfortunately the reality is harsh.

Chen Yan retreated half a body position, grabbing the basketball with one hand in a dashing turn at the moment.

Even the take is silky smooth!

The moment he turned around, point guard Doug Brown took advantage of Chen Yan's unsteady center of gravity, an acceleration to reach out also ready to pull out the ball!

Chen Yan was violently shocked, no martial virtues? Sneak attacking a 19 year old junior player of mine?

Chen Yan used his instincts to play a big backward move, dodging Doug Brown's cutter at extreme distance, leaving the pouncing pair to sail away!

Chen Yan wondered, is this gambling steal also contagious?

After passing two people in a row, Chen Yan was on a roll!

The green light is on and the road ahead is clear!

Chen Yan was so fast that his teammates couldn't keep up with his advance!

1 man with the ball, 9 men watching, true youth team ball hog!

Here it comes, here it comes. Chen Yan is here again in his bomber!

  "Boom!"

With a flying split, Chen Yan scored his 10th point of the game!

"That dribble is so windy, it's a total personal show!"

"Watching this guy play is just too uptight!"

"I'm going to buy a Chan jersey tomorrow!"

"Tomorrow? I'll be there right after the game!"

Looking at the fans' crazy cheers and Chen Yan's back, Richardson felt the darkness of the world for a moment.

Some gaps can't be bridged by hard work ...
