"Come inside, Tristan~"
Hearing these words, a grin appears on my face. The skill 'Sweet talk' is actually potent than I thought!
With a small push on the door, I enter Sue's room. It's a big room similar to Clare's room with an alluring scent lingering in the air. I find myself standing in the doorway, observing Sue as she sits on a chair with a small wooden table in front of her. The room is dimly lit with a small orb of light that's floating above, creating an ethereal atmosphere. Sue is engrossed in her task, writing something inside a scroll using a white brush dipped in vibrant red ink.
Curiosity gets the better of me, and I try to catch a glimpse of the content, but before I can, Sue swiftly covers the scroll, keeping her work hidden from my prying eyes, making my curiosity explode. But well, we'll keep that for later.
It's been almost five years since I last stepped foot into Sue's room. Memories flood back, reminding me of the times we spent together as children, exploring this very space with wide-eyed wonder. It's strange how time flies, and we grew distant from each other.
Turning my attention back to Sue, I can't help but admire her beauty. She's grown into a stunning woman, with an alluring face. Her athletic figure is accentuated by the medieval dress she's wearing, one that harks back to ancient times with its elegant design. The dress fits her body like a glove, highlighting her slender frame, and long red hair.
"Sue," I suddenly say, trying to keep my tone light and casual, "I just wanted to catch up with my dear sister. It's been too long, hasn't it?"
She looks at me with a blank expression. "What brings you to my room?" she asks, her voice neutral.
"Well, I came here to talk to you about something," I reply, taking a seat on her bed, pushing the boundaries of my 'Sweet Talk' skill. Sue furrows her eyebrows, but she doesn't say anything.
Fufufu...
I grin inwardly, sensing that my persuasion is starting to test her patience.
"Sister, isn't it a bit odd that you're sitting so far from your little brother?" I remark playfully, trying to break the ice. "Why don't you take a seat on the bed?"
Sue's face scrunches up in annoyance upon hearing my words before she relaxes her expression. "When did we even talk last, and tell me what brings you here before I kick you out of my room," she retorts, her tone serious.
I swallow a mouthful of saliva, realizing that I might be pushing my luck with the 'Sweet Talk' skill. I shouldn't rely too much on it.
"Well, sister, I don't like the way you avoid us or ignore us at home. I know you might be going through something that you don't want to share with us, but that doesn't mean you should ignore us. The truth is I am always worried about you, but you've always ignored me if I ask. It's a mira--" I pause mid-sentence as Sue interjects with a sharp retort.
"It's a miracle indeed that I allowed you in my room. Say what you came here to do, I am already running out of patience," she says, her tone sharp and impatient.
Fuck!
I curse inwardly, gritting my teeth. My attempt at sweet talking seems to have backfired. Sue has always been perceptive and doesn't easily fall for persuasion. But I can't give up now; I need to get through to her.
Leaking out a sigh, I decide to drop the overly sweet tone and speak in a normal voice. "Sister, I know you're hiding something from me, and you don't want anyone else to know about it. However, I promise you that I am a trustworthy person, and you can rely on me."
I notice that Sue's expression softens a little bit upon hearing my words. I continue talking, "You know I can't use magic, right?" She nods in response, seemingly interested in what I want to say.
"But the truth is, I have figured out how to use Mana in some way since dad refused to remove the impurities from my body. Let me show you," I reveal.
In the next moment, a burst of aura erupts from my body, startling Sue. The room is filled with a shimmering light as the Mana swirls around me.
"Y-You can now wield Mana!" Sue mutters, her eyes nearly popping out of their sockets.
"Fufufu, surprised, right? That's why I told you that you can rely on me, sister," I claim with a hint of pride in my voice.
Sue's astonishment is evident as she watches the Mana dance around me.
"H-How did you manage this?" she asks, her curiosity piqued.
"It's a long story, but when I realized that I couldn't use Mana, I started experimenting with my body in different ways," I blow a lie. "I found out that I could harness its energy, and with practice, I could even create these little bursts of aura."
As the Mana gradually settles back into me, I can see a mix of emotions in Sue's eyes β surprise, admiration, and perhaps even a touch of envy.
She gets up from and seat in a flash and sit down on the bed beside me. It's as if her personality took a 360 degree turn.
Fufu....
Suddenly, she starts talking. "Tristan, the thing is..."
