Chapter 139 - Chapter 139: Teammates (2)

Cao Guang on the other hand was occupied by his own thoughts as Lin Mu tried to 'inspire' unity among the teammates like he did with his class in Pearl Institute.

The fact is that he had an interesting teammate in Jiang Shaojun, the seeker of Totems.

Jiang Shaojun has not yet perhaps commenced on his journeys across the country in search for them but he still holds large amounts of data about them thanks to the influence held by his father. At some point he probably will do exactly the same stuff.

Cao Guang did not mind helping this guy out especially when he himself had some connections with Totems thanks to his pendant. Cao Guang observed the guy and was sure that Du Ling and he were a couple.

The advisors dropped them of in Fuzhou City in Fujian, the city was connected to the Sea by a river.

"How are we supposed to get to Japan like this, no airline will let anyone on without identity checks" Li Kai was the first to voice his annoyance. Speaking of which Cao Guang wondering about the background off all of these guys.

He knew about Jiang Shaojun, Zu Yuanjun, Mu Yinfeng, Zhao Jing and Guan Chen. He wasn't sure if Li Kai was from the same family as Li Kaifeng, who controlled the Education Board as well as Du Ling and Zhong Yuan, these two girls were unfamiliar to him. Cao Guang simply asked his captain for an answer. As the captain she would have some information on them.

" Du Ling is Hunter King Du Xiao's niece and Zhong Yuan is a commoner, she made it here on her own"

Cao Guang was very suprised with the later especially given the resources needed for reaching the Advanced level. He was curious to see how far she could go, but he had no intention of sponsoring her like Liu Mingrui, not that it was impossible.

But most intermediate mages had figured out what they wanted, unless Zhong Yuan changed her mind all of a sudden it was unlikely she would accept his sponsorship. Plenty of other organisations should have already failed in their attempts.

Besides he preferred to recruit basic mages or lower and help them progress faster rather than be their sponsor throughout. He wasn't that rich.

" Using a ship to smuggle ourselves would be our best bet, does anyone speak Japanese? Besides it's ok to fail, the advisors might cut some resources as punishment but they won't throw us off" Zhao Jing was unapprehensive of their plight.

" Find someone rich that needs help and help them and get a boat" Cao Guang finally spoke, he noticed most of them listened when he did and wasn't suprised.

The group split in to three groups, Jiang Shaojun, Cao Guang and Du Ling went to check the Hunter Union.

Gao Xuan, Mu Yinfeng, Zu Yuanjun and Li Kai went to the Buisness street and Song Xia went to the City Hall with Guan Chen, Zhao Jing and Zhong Yuan.

They agreed to meet back in the city later that day.

" So how many of your elements are in the Advanced level?" Jiang Shaojun asked on their way.

He had heard about the Double innate elements and realised the guy infront of him had six elements already, that's was one more than a Forbidden Mage.

Jiang Shaojun and Du Ling had a wager on the said question.

" Three"

" Damn, you realise that's how many the rest of us are ever going to have right?" said Jiang Shaojun handing over some money to a chuckling Du Ling.

" It crossed my mind, but there are other ways to be stronger than me, you should know, ever been to Hangzhou yet?"

" I've been there, why?"

" It's nothing we're here" said Cao Guang as he pointed at the rather unremarkable state of the Hunter Union. Fuzhou was by no means a major City and had a Hunter Union representative of that fact.

Cao Guang went up to the clerk at the information counter and questioned her about the recent monster activity and any faction that might need help, the answer wasn't far from what Cao Guang expected, there were only two such conditions that filled all of their criteria.

They had to Monsters they could handle and at the same time useful for a faction in the city that could afford them passage to Japan with a boat and sea route.

Any kind of travel used set routes that were either free of monsters or cleared regularly for the purpose. This was hardest when it was at sea as the number Sea monsters in the ground was nearly immeasurable with current human capabilities.
